Chapter 11

Shinsou knocks on the door. "Hikki? We're back."

"Come in," Hikki responds.

The two open the door, enter, and close it behind themselves.

"We brought beef stew and water," Kaminari announces, showing the tray he's holding, which contains a bowl and the bottle of water.

"Thank you," Hikki says, slowly sitting up.

Kaminari sets the tray over her lap and takes a seat next to her legs on the bed, while Shinsou pulls over the desk chair and settles onto it.

Hikki begins to eat slowly as Kaminari recounts what happened after she lay down to rest.

"Tetsutetsu really did that?" Hikki asks as Kaminari tells her about the little fight between Kirishima and his metal twin.

"Yeah! He pushed him down because Kiri kept whining about how Tetsu is better than him," Kaminari giggles, earning a soft look from Shinsou.

Hikki rolls her eyes. "That's so silly. They're both strong."

"Exactly! Though, my man Kiri is much stronger!"

They continue chatting until around 10 p.m., when Class B and Shinsou leave, and Class A goes to bed.

The next day, during the afternoon, it starts to snow.

"Whoa! It's snowing!" Shosuke exclaims, running outside excitedly with Kirishima.

Meanwhile, Itsuki remains inside, covered with blankets.

"Itsuki, don't you want to join your brother outside?" Midoriya asks from the doorway, accompanied by Iida and Momo.

The redhead shakes her head, shivering. "I don't really like the cold."

Midoriya nods understandingly.

Kirishima roars outside and takes his shirt off. "Clear the mind and rub down with a dry towel!"

"The towels will get wet!" Momo calls out from the door.

"Watch your step!" Iida warns Kirishima and Shosuke as they head outside.

"Close the window! Tsuyu-chan can't move anymore!" Ochako says worriedly.

Jirou apologizes and quickly closes it.

Kaminari grabs the TV remote. "Let's watch the snowfall report!" Sero and Hikki sit on the couch, enjoying some snacks.

Itsuki waves Midoriya over, and he joins her on the couch opposite Sero.

"Do you know what time dad and Uncle Kacchan will be back?" Itsuki asks quietly.

"They said it'd be around six. Today is the last day of their supplemental classes for the provisional license! If they pass the test today, then all of Class A will have our provisional licenses!" Midoriya explains with excitement.

"Awesome!"

"What about your provisional license exam? Did you take it already? How did it go?" Midoriya asks.

"We actually just finished the exam and were on our way back to UA when we got attacked by the villain who sent us back in time," Itsuki explains.

"But you all passed?"

"Of course, we did!" Itsuki responds confidently.

Midoriya chuckles as Sato passes out hot chocolate. Itsuki gladly takes one, as does Midoriya.

A few hours later, Bakugou and Shoto return, both looking a bit beaten up.

"You two are back! How did it go?" Midoriya and Kirishima, the only two still downstairs, ask excitedly.

"We got our licenses and stopped some villains on our way back," Shoto explains, while Bakugou grins smugly.

"It's late, I'm heading to bed. Come on, Eijirou!"

"Oh! Yes, coming!" Kirishima turns to Midoriya and Shoto before following his boyfriend upstairs. "Good night, you two!"

"Good night," Midoriya responds.

"Good night!" Kirishima bids farewell as he heads upstairs.

Midoriya turns back to Shoto. "Kacchan is right, it's 10 pm already."

Shoto puts a hand on his neck. "Sorry for taking so long to come back. Are the twins asleep already?"

"Yes, I put them to bed just half an hour ago. They tried their best to stay up and welcome you back, though. Itsuki has been freezing the whole day, and Shosuke was exhausted from playing out in the snow all afternoon."

Shoto hums softly, then the two freeze and blush bright red when they realize just how domestic and parental they already sound.

"W-we should go to bed, too," Midoriya suggests.

"Yes... you're right," Shoto agrees.

The next morning

"You gotta be kidding me!"

"No, and watch your language, Bakugou. As I said, it's an interview. Some reporters wish to talk to you and Todoroki about last night," Aizawa explains.

"I don't mind," Shoto shrugs.

"Alright then, I will tell them that they can come in and get started," Aizawa says, getting up and letting the reporters in.

They set up their equipment and sit on one couch, while Bakugou and Shoto sit down on the opposite one. The two sit as far apart as possible, and Bakugou is glaring.

"Pro-level work just 30 minutes after getting their provisional hero licenses! On today's show, we have two students who drove back villains from U.A.'s hero course Class 1-A, Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugou. Do the two of you normally have fun training together?" The reporter asks.

"Does it look that way to you? You should get your eyes or brain checked!" Bakugou snarls.

Shoto answers, sounding more monotone, "We're friends."

"Huh? Don't just say random stuff! Since when have we been friends?!" Bakugou yells.

"We spent a lot of time together because of the supplementary classes, right?" Shoto responds.

"What kind of system is that? Spending time together doesn't mean we're friends!"

"What kind of system are you talking about?"

"I don't know! You should get your brain checked, too!"

The rest of Class 1-A stares, shocked.

Hato and Setsuko are on the floor, wheezing. "I didn't know Uncle Shoto was this dense!"

Kirishima sighs, and Kazumi pats him on the back.

Shosuke and Itsuki are on the floor as well, though they look dead with disappointment.

The next day during class, everyone watches the interview.

Kaminari, Sero, Hato, and Setsuko are laughing so hard that they're crying.

"They were interviewed for a whole hour, and Bakugou's answers weren't used at all! All you see of him is this cut-off part in the corner!" Kaminari says as the interview plays on his phone.

"Use my answers...!"

"They protected him in a sense, huh?" Ochako says.

"It's already the third interview, too..." Momo says from her seat.

Jirou is next to her. "The good rep he got after getting his provisional license went poof."

Meanwhile, Midoriya watches a report about the destruction of Deika City. Shosuke is leaning against his desk, watching it with him. Setsuko is eavesdropping.

Iida walks towards them, his steps purposeful and authoritative. "I heard that the destruction in Deika City was worse than in Camino, but because it was less populated, there were fewer victims."

They continue to watch as Setsuko ponders, her mind racing with thoughts. "Could my Papa have been involved in that?"

The door opens, and Midnight, Mt. Lady, and Aizawa enter, their presence commanding attention. After changing into their Hero costumes, they lead the class outside for today's exercise: practicing for a hero interview.

"Hero Shoto, come here," Mt. Lady calls out, her voice amplified by the microphone.

Shoto steps onstage, his demeanor a mix of confusion and curiosity. "What are you talking about?" he asks, his brow furrowing in bewilderment.

"Pretend you just finished doing a job! Shoto, what kind of hero would you like to be?" Mt. Lady prompts, her tone playful yet probing.

"A hero that can make everyone feel safe when I arrive," Shoto responds, his voice steady and resolute.

"That's wonderful! If a handsome boy like you came to save me, my heart would start racing, though!" Mt. Lady teases, her words eliciting a mixture of amusement and awkwardness from the onlookers.

"Do you... have heart problems?" Shoto asks.

Midoriya interjects with a sigh, his tone laced with both amusement and exasperation.

Hato and Setsuko wheeze with laughter, while the twins facepalm in embarrassment.

"What kind of ultimate moves do you have?" Mt. Lady continues, shifting the focus back to Shoto's abilities.

"Heaven-piercing Ice wall. It covers a wide area, can stop others, and can create a place to stand. It has a wide range of uses," Shoto explains, demonstrating the technique with precision. "Also, I have the rougher Flashfreeze Heatwave."

"Well, if you want people to feel safe, it might be good to smile," Mt. Lady suggests once Shoto is back onstage. "You'll slay the ladies with your smile!" her words are met with a mixture of amusement and discomfort from the audience.

"If I smile... they'll die...?!"

Hato and Setsuko are now collapsed on the ground, their laughter echoing through the training area. Gasping for breath between fits of wheezing, they struggle to compose themselves. Meanwhile, the twins wear expressions of frustration bordering on tears, and Midoriya bows his head in shame.

Despite the laughter and embarrassment, the training continues. When it's Midoriya's turn, he finds himself frozen stiff with nervousness, his anxiety palpable in the air.

Once again, the twins bow their heads, this time in shared shame.
