Part Eleven

The next couple of weeks that followed after having that night with Yoongi could only be described by Jimin as pure and sweet bliss. He knew he hadn't been having fun for a while, not having been to any parties or out on any dates. He had gone out with Jungkook and Taehyung for the occasional house party that Jungkook insisted they go to, but that would mostly be all. That was his little bubble of what he called a social life for a long time, but now, he could see exactly what he had been missing.

They were still taking it slow, like they had agreed, but Jimin couldn't be more over the moon than he was now. Yoongi was doing everything right, without force, and was always making sure that Jimin was comfortable before doing anything. Jimin had lowered his expectations for relationships for a long time, having one too many that have ended horribly for his liking. Even after seeing his friends go through things themselves, he had put aside having high expectations out of anyone, not wanting to disappoint himself again. But with Yoongi, he was getting to see so much of what he had always wanted out of a person, even if he wasn't in a relationship with him yet.

Yoongi had taken him on many dates, ranging from casual outings to the park to extravagant dinners overlooking the city of Daegu as the sun sets in the distance. He would buy Jimin gifts, which could be flowers or something expensive like a new watch. And Jimin had to admit, he loved the new watch. They were inseparable, Jimin being over at his house majority of the time now. It was like he was living the dream that everyone wanted: finding their dream person. Even though they hadn't made anything official yet, Yoongi had shown Jimin everything. Jimin couldn't even hide the smile that formed on his face anytime he talked about Yoongi to anyone, especially Jungkook and Taehyung. By now, they were probably sick of him and his rants. One such conversation he was currently having with them as he was on a bus ride to the mall, wanting to shop for a gift for Yoongi as they were having dinner tonight.

Jimin: Seriously guys...I love this man so much already it's starting to hurt my heart. Should I get that checked out? 🤭

Jungkook🐰: maybe you should..are you fairly certain he didn't slip a love potion in one of your drinks or something?

Taehyung👽: or did he hypnotize you? Honestly if he did that sounds like fun!

Jungkook🐰: Tae, that means Jimin would be getting taken advantage of

Taehyung👽: and knowing him, he'd love that even more

Jimin: hey! I'm right here you know!

But yes, I would totally love it 😉

But come on, have I really been talking about him that much?

Taehyung👽: yes

Jungkook🐰: yes, but I don't blame you because he's actually pretty solid. Tae, this man pays for everything that Jimin wants. They aren't even together yet and he just pays for everything! Do you know how hard it is for some people to just pay for dinner!

And he's hot! Jimin, you have to show Tae a picture! He hasn't even seen what he looks like yet!

Jimin: (image inserted)

Here, this is one of us before dinner! Peep how good he looks in black 😩😩

Jungkook🐰: annnndd I'm jealous again

Taehyung👽: oh wow! Jimin he's fucking gorgeous!

Jungkook🐰: I told you!

Jimin: yup and he's alllll mine

Jungkook🐰: do you know when you'll make it official? Because at this point, you're practically dating him

Jimin: I don't know, we've just been taking it really slow. We didn't want to rush things too much considering how fast things started to go. I would love to make it official..I feel so much for him

Jungkook🐰: aww he's in love

Taehyung👽: not even puppy love, it's real love!

Jungkook🐰: ugh just plan the wedding already

Taehyung👽: right, I'll be the flower boy!

Jimin: both of you hush, you're making me feel all sappy!

Now, what should I get him from the mall?

Yoongi was just as happy as Jimin was, so much so that he would catch himself thinking about Jimin even while he was working. Usually when it wasn't so busy inside of the store, he would be thinking about music lyrics he could write down or different tones and musical themes he could use on his keyboard or guitar. But over the last couple of weeks, it has been nothing but Jimin. He would see Jimin in some of the clothes that he would be checking out or get a random phantom scent of his cologne. It was like Jimin was following him everywhere he went, and he didn't mind that at all.

He was even starting to hear Jimin in his music, every note and every melody. This had also caused him to come up with more ideas for a song, which he was keeping from Jimin until the right time. After all, who knows when a good song could make for a perfect present? Everything he seemed to be doing nowadays was centered around Jimin and keeping it that way was on his agenda.

He did have to admit to himself the reason he was taking it so slow with him. It was because of Jazmine. Jazmine had been his person for a long time, who he would turn to, who would sometimes give him inspiration for music. That was something that was hard to forget. Even though he would rather stay stoic with his emotions, he could not deny that their breakup had hurt. Sure, he took the breakup very well, mostly because he was the one who did it. But who was to say that wouldn't happen to him again? If he had though Jazmine was his person and she did that to him, what was to say Jimin wouldn't do it either? He mostly shook those feelings away, knowing that Jimin wouldn't do that to him, would he?

As Yoongi was checking out a customer, he felt the urge to look up at the entrance to see who was coming in. He felt his heart drop when he sees Jazmine walking inside. He knew he should have quit this job as soon as they broke up, knowing she was going to pop up eventually. It was always when he was finally doing better that she would show up, it was like her superpower. To make things worse when they were starting to get better. She locks eyes with him once, gives him a bright smile, and starts looking around. She's not here for anything but him and he knows that.

He finishes checking out his customers and politely wishes them a good day before Jazmine makes her way towards the counter. She did have something in her hands, but he could just tell that she wasn't going to buy it. She sets it down in front of him, a pair of sunglasses, that same bright smile on her face. He takes them before looking back up at her. "Cash or card?" Jazmine tilts her head to the side, her smile unwavering. "I think you know the answer to that Yoongi," He sighs, setting the sunglasses down. "What do you want?" He knew what she was going to say before the words even left her mouth. "The same thing I wanted when I came to your house before you shut me out. Another chance," He rolls his eyes before looking up at a few customers coming in, welcoming them. She couldn't be serious; did she still expect him to want to be with her again? Does she think that it is just that easy? It had been weeks since he had last talked to her and throughout those weeks, he had been with Jimin. Either she had forgotten what she had done to him or just didn't care.

"Another chance Jazmine? Really, we've already had this conversation. Either you just don't listen, or you don't care. I'm done with you," The smile has slipped from her lips, but she gathers herself up again before speaking. "Yoongi come on. It was one mistake. Just one. And I regret it okay? I really do. That doesn't excuse anything that I did to you, but I'm really sorry. I just want one more chance to make it right! Please..I care about you.," Yoongi looks down at her, sighing as he shakes his head. "You know, if I were anybody else, I would have actually believed you. You are not in the slightest bit sorry. If you were sorry and truly cared about me as much as you say you do, then you wouldn't have even considered cheating on me in the first place. Now get out of here. I'm trying to work, and I don't need you here ruining my money,"

He sets her sunglasses aside and looks up, hoping that anybody in the store was ready to get checked out. Unfortunately, the people that walked in after Jazmine seemed to be really slow shoppers. There was nobody coming, so Jazmine wasn't going anywhere. She grabs the front of his uniform and makes him bend down towards him, as if to try and kiss him, but he stops her immediately, grabbing her wrists. He glares down at her now, any pretense of customer service gone. "If this is what you came here for, trying to kiss it and make it better, that will not work at all. Let go of my shirt." Jazmine does as he says, not liking his tone at all. She had come here to try and make it better, trying to make him see that she was sorry, but it seemed that she had made it worse. There was only one thing left that she knew she could do, try and appeal. "Yoongi..I..I still love you. I know I hurt you and I know I did wrong..but let me prove to you that I can change and that I will change. For you...," Yoongi couldn't help himself, he started to laugh. His entire body was moving with hysterics, which only made Jazmine become flushed and angry. "What? What could possibly be funny! I do still love you, Yoongi! I always have and always will,"

Yoongi wipes away his tears of laughter before looking back at her, straight into her eyes, just as the customers he was waiting on were starting to come up to the counter. "You can 'still love me' as much as you want to. That does not change how I feel about you now. I loathe you. You may have been someone that I loved once, but not anymore. That shit you pulled on me? That hurt me. And you know me well enough to know that when I get hurt, whatever or whoever did it is dead to me. You are dead to me. Any chance that you thought I was going forgive you was something that you made up in your head. I probably will never ever forgive you. And if I do, it's because I don't have the capacity to deal with you in any form any longer. We are entirely done Jazmine. I have actually found someone that listens to me better than you ever have. I actually feel like I can be myself and show my true passions instead of walking around on eggshells. Just because you're miserable, that doesn't mean that I have to be."

Jazmine stares at him stunned. Yoongi was seeing someone now. She was too late. A smirk rises onto Yoongi's face as he sees that his words have hit home. His customer service voice returning, "Thank you for shopping at Hollister. Have a great day,"

—-----------

Jimin was hoping that Yoongi wouldn't somehow see him in the mall, not knowing that he is here buying him a gift. After consulting with Jungkook and Taehyung, they both agreed that Jimin should get him a piece of jewelry. They just didn't decide on what kind of jewelry. So here he was, in the middle of the jewelry store, looking around for anything that caught his eye. He didn't know exactly what to get, not knowing exactly what Yoongi would like. He could take a stab at a few items that he saw that he would love to have for himself, but for Yoongi, he was at a complete loss.

He found himself eyeing a silver chain necklace, reminding him of his own that he had around his neck. This necklace had become one of his lucky charms, having been with him for many years. He tried to wear it with anything, feeling nearly naked when being without it. Maybe this would be a good choice for Yoongi, giving him a little luck of his own. He was about to ask the price for it when he hears his name being called. His heart started to drop, thinking Yoongi had gotten a break from work or had got off early and had found him inside the store. But this voice was softer, more feminine. He turns and sees Jazmine heading towards him, a bright smile on her face. He hadn't talked to her in a while, having been wrapped up in all of his dates with Yoongi. He had replied to a few of her texts, but barely responded anymore. He hoped she didn't feel some type of way about it, he wasn't trying to blow her off.

"Hey Jaz, I didn't think I'd run into you here. Shopping for jewelry too?" She nods and motions towards the front where the earrings are. "I was looking for a new pair when I saw you over here. You're not avoiding me, are you?" He laughs and shakes his head, looking back at the necklaces. "No, I've just been a little tied up lately. I hope I haven't upset you; how can I make it up? Another burger perhaps?" Jazmine moves a little closer to him and gently touches his arm. "I was thinking something a little more..fancy," Jimin had to hide the expression that was about to cross over his face. This is not what he had been getting at when he said making it up. He was about to say so when a woman comes up to them, having the uniform of all the jewelers in the store. "Does the happy couple need help with anything?" Jazmine's face lights up and Jimin's eyes widen as he shakes his head. "No ma'am, I think we have it," The woman nods, a smile still on her face as she walks away.

Jazmine looks up at Jimin, her smile widening as she leans closer to him. "So, what do you say? Dinner tonight? I know a really nice seafood restaurant that gives you a gorgeous view of the sunset," Jimin knew the exact one that she was talking about, having been there with Yoongi not too long ago. He slowly takes a step away from her and shakes his head. "I'm sorry Jazmine, I didn't mean to give you the wrong idea about us. I just thought we were just on a friendly basis. I know I've joked with you and all, but I thought I said-" She stops him by wrapping her arms around his waist. "I know that, and I understood that. But I was just wondering if you wanted to take our relationship further than friendship," He didn't want to be a heartbreaker, he really didn't. He had to say this right, or everything could hit the fan and there could be a scene in this jewelry store. He starts slowly, trying to sound as sincere and soft as possible. "I'm very flattered, Jazmine, I really am. I've just never thought of you that way. I don't want to hurt your feelings, but I just want to remain friends, if that's okay,"

Jazmine's feelings weren't hurt, but she was more frustrated than anything. After talking to Yoongi, she realized that she was going to have to work harder to get him back or simply move on with someone else. She had already chosen Jimin and she did, in her own way, want to be with Jimin as well. Deep down, she wanted Yoongi back, or to at least exact revenge by making him jealous. This was a bump in the road, but she would just have to push harder to get over it. Instead of yelling, she swallows her pride and releases him from her grip. "You're right, I'm sorry for pushing myself onto you so fast. I probably made you uncomfortable. If you're still willing after all of that, maybe we could grab a burger? They have this burger place by the food court,"

Jimin considers this for a second, unsure. He did have a little bit of time to kill, seeing Yoongi later at his house for dinner. She did try to advance on him, which had indeed made him uncomfortable, but if she was willing to apologize for it then he shouldn't hold it against her so fast. After all, they had a decent friendship going so far, he wasn't going to throw that away over one mishap. He smiles and nods, "Sure, let's go. But first," He buys the chain necklace that he had been looking at, smiling at the thought of Yoongi loving it, before heading out of the store with her.

He was thinking about what type of burger he may like when he hears the familiar voice that he had come to love. "Jimin?" Jimin looks to his left, his heart starting to beat quicker seeing Yoongi standing there in his work uniform, with the look of someone who had been utterly betrayed.
