Personality:
Matthew is probably the only pure person left in high school. He's sweet and innocent, even a little naive but mostly good-natured with the best interests at heart. He can be too quick to trust and too quick to put his faith in others. However, he can't see the worst in people, believing everyone to be good at their core. He usually forgives people quickly and often for no good reason.

He's extremely shy and doesn't say very much. He tends to sit at the back of the class to avoid interactions with other people and being called upon by the teacher. It's not that he's not smart - he just doesn't like speaking in front of people. Or much at all. Which is why he's usually delighted but a little bit terrified when people want to be friends with him, given he's far too scared to make the first move.

He really doesn't like conflict. At all. He goes out of his way to avoid arguments and fights and any instance where someone is angry at him or someone else. He hates confrontation as well, preferring not to talk to people about what pisses him off and just leaving the problem grow worse and worse. He doesn't like to bring issues or problems up at all.

He's stuck to the rules like glue, never even thinking of ever breaking any. He's too scared to do so and too dedicated to them. He sees breaking the rules as one of the worst things you could do. They're there for a reason after all. He doesn't really like having fun if it involves breaking the rules or even slightly toeing the line. He sticks so firmly to them, it's a wonder he's done anything at all.

He's extremely dedicated to his mother, almost unnervingly so. To a point where you wonder if it's healthy to have that kind of bond. He can also occasionally be self-centred and not think of others, especially when it comes prioritising the safety of himself and only those he really really cares about. He can also be willing to go to almost extreme lengths to protect those he cares for. He's never intentionally cruel but often accidentally hurts people's feelings and doesn't realise his rudeness. He's extremely fixated on his old ways and is unwilling to accept any kind of change. At all.
