Part 6
My eyes follow his every movement, observing his every smile, every laugh.
Ugh, how can he be sooo two-faced ? Acting all innocent & angelic in front of everyone when in reality he's a devil.
"Y/n ah, what are you staring at?" Jin's touch breaks my daze.
"Huh? Oh, I was just admiring the view. The beach is gorgeous." I turn my face towards the long stretch of sand & enjoy the cool breeze blowing on my face.
"Guys! Come here! We're going to play a game." Jungkook hollers to us.
"Come on." Jin holds my hand & pulls me towards the group.
"What are we playing?" Jin asks.
"Truth or dare." Jungkook clasps his hands together excitedly & then glances at me, his lips lifted into that annoying smirk of his.
I immediately look down at my feet as chill travels down my spine.
What the hell is he trying to do?
"Hyung, spin the bottle." Jungkook nods at Jin.
I cross my fingers & pray anxiously inside.
Please. Not me. Not me. Please.
When the tip of the bottle stops at one of Jin's friends, I breathe a sigh of relief.
After a few rounds, I begin to relax.
This is quite a large group of people. Soon, they'll get bored. Maybe I won't have to play at all.
"Wah! The host finally gets it!" The crowd cheers as the bottle stops at Jungkook.
"Dare." He confidently says as he crosses his arms.
"Ok. Uhm.. give the most attractive person in this room a back hug." Jungkook's friend commands.
"Easy peasy." Jungkook abruptly stands up & walks around the table towards me.
Cold sweat begins to form on my palms as I see him getting nearer.
Please don't do this.
I hold my breath & close my eyes, feeling his hovering presence right behind me.
"Saranghaeyo hyung." Jungkook chuckles as he hugs Jin from behind all of a sudden.
I'm half relieved & half annoyed at his action. I know he did that on purpose to play with me.
"Yaaa that's cheating! It doesn't count." His friends exclaim in protest.
"I'm not cheating, I do think Jin hyung is the most attractive person here. Plus, you didn't say that it had to be a woman, so.." He laughs out loud & slaps his friend's back before going back to his seat.
"Now, my turn." He grabs the bottle & spins it hard.
The Goddess of Fortune must truly hate me because this time the tip of the bottle points right at me.
Fuck.
"Ok nuna, truth or dare?" He asks. The underlying menace in his voice doesn't escape me.
All eyes are on me as I stay frozen in place not knowing what to say or do.
"Y/n ah, everyone's waiting." Jin nudges me & whispers.
"T-Truth." I finally pick the easier option out of the two impossible choices.
"Hmm.. ok, what should I ask?" Jungkook taps his forefinger on his chin as he stares at me.
I gulp down my saliva & hope that he'll go easy on me, which for sure is not going to happen.
"Aha! I got it. Nuna, what's the biggest lie that you've ever told your fiancée?"
Blood drains from my face at his question.
I slept with & got married to his best friend.
The answer automatically pops up in my brain.
"Ya, I'm sure Y/n has never lied to me. We've always been honest to each other, right?" Jin searches my face & smiles.
"I don't believe that. She must have lied to you about something." Jungkook persists.
"No no, I don't think so. She's never lied to me." Jin defends me but that only makes me feel even worse.
"Really? Not even during her bachelorette's party in Vegas? I mean people usually do crazy things at such party & don't dare to tell their other halves about what they've done. What about you nuna? Did you do anything crazy that you haven't told Jin hyung?"
I become paler & paler at Jungkook's incessant provocation. My lips quiver & my hands turn ice cold.
"How do you know that she went to Vegas for her bachelorette's party?" Jin suddenly notices the oddity in Jungkook's question.
"Oh, she told me about that, right nuna?"
I can't take it anymore. My heart feels like it's about to jump out of my mouth.
"Sorry, I'm feeling a bit sick. Please excuse me." I abruptly stand up & rush into the house.
"Y/n. Y/n ah! Wait. What's wrong?" Jin snatches my wrist & stops me.
"I- I feel like throwing up. M-Maybe I had too much to drink." I stutter.
"Omg, you look so pale. Do you want to drink something warm? I saw you didn't eat much, maybe the alcohol hurt your empty stomach. Wait here, let me grab you some food." Jin begins to step away, but I hold onto his arm.
"Can we- Can we go home? I'm really not feeling well." It's the truth. I can feel a headache coming.
"What's going on? Are you ok nuna?" Jungkook walks briskly towards us, frowning.
"Y/n isn't feeling well. I guess I need to take her home now." Jin explains.
"Oh no. Nuna, do you want to lie down in the guest room? I'm really sorry. I went overboard with my question during the game, didn't I?" Jungkook seems genuinely concern, but I notice he just expertly brought Jin's attention back to the unanswered truth or dare question.
"I-It's not because of that. Jin, can we go home now? Please." I pull Jin's hand & plead.
"Alright. I'll call you again Kook. Thanks for having us today." Jin takes Jungkook's hand & gives him a shoulder bump.
"Anytime hyung. Get well soon nuna. I hope I'll see you guys again soon." Jungkook smiles as he waves at us.
I put on a tight smile, nod at him, then walk briskly out of the house without turning back.
My heart rate finally slows down once Jin drives the car into the tollroad.
"Hey, you ok?" He squeezes my hand & asks.
"Much better now." I smile faintly at him.
"Please don't mind Jungkook. He likes to tease people so sometimes he can step over the line without realizing. You won't resent him because of what he said earlier, right?"
That's the last thing you need to be worried about right now.
"I won't. Don't worry." It's tiring, pretending that everything is alright when actually it isn't. But I have to do it to keep our relationship intact.
My phone suddenly vibrates & I rummage through my bag searching for it. That's when my fingers graze over the foreign object.
The earring.
My mind was preoccupied with Jungkook that I had completely forgotten about that.
Wanting to clear things out right away, I take it out & put in on the center of my palm.
"Jin, whose earring is this? I found it on the car floor at the back when I grabbed the wine earlier." I calmly say as I show him the shiny piece of metal.
He glimpses at it & turns his vision back onto the road.
"Ahhh, that must be eomma's. She probably dropped it when I fetched her from the salon a few days ago." He replies right away.
Something is off about his answer but I can't quite put my finger on it. His voice didn't waiver at all though, so I guess he must be telling the truth.
"I see. You should return this to her then. She must be looking for it."
"Just put it inside the glovebox. I'll give it back to her when I see her. You should get some rest. I'll wake you up when we get home." He gently caresses the top or my head.
"Ok. Drive safe." I put the earring inside the glove compartment, lean my head onto the headrest & close my eyes.
Uneasiness still tugs at the back of my mind but I quickly dismiss it.
Jin would never lie to me. Focus on taking care of Jungkook. Everything will be alright once we get divorced. Right?

"Y/n ah, we're home." Jin shakes my shoulder & awakens me from my sleep.
"Oh. Ok." I cover my yawn & lazily get up.
"I need to take this car to the car salon. Will you be ok if I leave you alone for a few hours?"
"Yeah, sure. But it's a bit late to put it in now, don't you think?" I check my watch. 4:37 pm.
"I've made an appointment so it should be fine. I'll be right back. Call me if you need anything." He says as he kisses my forehead.
I watch his car disappear in the busy street & walk into the apartment building. Then I remember that I haven't checked my phone after it buzzed earlier in the car, so I fish it out & unlock it.
A text. From Jungkook.
I furiously delete the message & block his number.
How dare he..
My phone rings again, startling me.
"Eommoni?" Jin's mother's caller ID flashes on my phone screen.
"Annyeong haseyo eommoni." I readily answer the call.
"We need to meet tomorrow to discuss some details about the wedding. I was waiting for your call but apparently you'd completely forgotten about it." She says with a slightly annoyed tone.
I'm so used to her rudeness that I don't even put it to heart anymore.
"Ah yes eommoni. I'm so sorry, I should be the one to set up an appointment with you." I apologize half-heartedly.
"Huh.. You should learn some manners Y/n ah. How could you ask an elder to call you first? Anw, meet me at Jungsik Dang, 11 AM tomorrow. Don't be late."
"Yes, eommo-" She hangs up the phone before I finish my sentence.
Yet, she told me that I should learn some manners. God, what a long freaking day.
