Epilogue

A lot can happen in two years. After Graydon Creed and the Friends Of Humanity were arrested for kidnapping Jake and attempting to murder him, new evidence surfaced that showed how Creed murdered the original Friends of Humanity council members along with their various family members. During Creed's trial, various victims of his cruelty along with the X-Men, Jake included, all testified against Creed for his horrible deeds, with Jennifer Walters as his main prosecutor. And with the She-Hulk as the main prosecutor, Creed was fucked to say the least. If the courts didn't find him guilty, various sane people of the public opinion who saw him enable these terroristic attacks of hate crime would certainly find him guilty. All the members of the Friends of Humanity were given harsh sentences for their various crimes of destruction of property, kidnapping, physical assault, murder, and so on and so forth, being given sentences of 25 to life in prison. As for Graydon Creed, he was sentenced to literally a thousand years, not only for the murders of the former council members, but for the crimes of kidnapping, attempted murder, and enabling destruction of property and various other terroristic acts. For someone who wasn't born a mutant, Graydon Creed was as evil as his father, and this was a sentence he certainly deserved.

As for Jake and Rogue, things got better for them. Their romantic relationship was as great as ever, and because Jake was Catholic, Rogue went so far as to have herself converted to Catholicism thanks to her foster brother Kurt, AKA Nightcrawler. She still remained a hero and a team with the X-Men, they even joined The Avengers in saving the world! Two years later, Jake successfully graduated from college, earning his veterinarian degree. After graduating, Jake decided to move into the Xavier Institute to live with Rogue there. It was two weeks after he graduated college and he had applied for a job as a horse groomer at a ranch for horses.

Jake ran back to the Xavier Institute to look for Rogue, giddy and excited. Eventually he found Rogue outside the Danger Room, finishing a training scenario. "Hey babe! I got some exciting news," said an enthusiastic Jake. "Well what's the good word, sugah?" Rogue asked, smiling when she saw her boyfriend so excited and happy. "I spoke to Mr Kirby at the horse ranch earlier today," said Jake, "He said after looking over my resume and my veterinarian degree, that he'd be happy to hire me! I got the job!!!" He was jumping with excitement and Rogue squealed, "oh mah gosh! Congratulations baby!!!" She hugged Jake, happy for her boyfriend.

Much later, Jake and Rogue went out to eat for dinner to celebrate Jake getting the job. After having that delicious meal, Jake and Rogue walked on over to the park where they had their first ice cream hang out. "Anna, if we ever did have kids, how likely do you think it'll be that they would have our powers?" Jake asked. "Ah don't know, it might seem likely," said Rogue, "maybe they might have your immunity to mah powers." Jake held Rogue's hand and asked, "If our children weren't mutants, would you still love them?" Rogue looked at Jake and said, "of course Ah would. Ah would never treat them cruelly the way Graydon Creed was. Ah would give them the same love and kindness that every child deserves. Plus they would be a reminder of our love for each other. Ah'm just so happy Ah have a man who loves me for who Ah am and who Ah can show mah physical affection to..." Jake smiled and said, "I'm glad I found someone who loves me too... Eccentricities, quirks and all."

As Jake went to find a song to play on his cell phone, he asked, "may I have this dance with you?" Rogue smiled and said, "you may, sugah." Jake then played the song Up Where We Belong by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes, and so he and Rogue slow danced to the song. As they slow danced, Jake looked into Rogue's beautiful green eyes, and Rogue looked into Jake's dreamy brown eyes. Rogue was so happy to save the world with The Avengers and then find herself reunited with the man she loved who she could touch and feel normal around. It was as if Jake was a gift from God made for her. Yes there were tough times and the occasional argument, but Rogue wouldn't trade it for anything else, And Jake felt the same. Once the song ended, Jake said, "I love you, Anna Marie Zann..." Rogue smiled and said, "Ah love you too, Jake Phillips Jr..." Jake then embraced Rogue and kissed her on the lips. He and Rogue were the most unlikely mutants to ever find love, and they were sincerely happy because of that.

The End.
