It was another mundane summer day for Jake Phillips Jr as he walked on over to the local video store in Westchester, New York. He was hoping to find a DVD copy of Day of The Doctor and the Christmas special known as The Time of the Doctor. Before he went inside, he noticed a woman who seemed to be around his age with light brown hair and a large white streak On top of her hair, she had light green eyes and Caucasian skin, she was slender and 5'9, wearing a nice casual long sleeve pink dress with pink heels and no socks or nylons. Jake found this lady to be quite attractive as she walked on over to the clothing store next door. Jake then went into the video store and said, "Good afternoon Stan!"
Stan was one of the main head cashiers at Len's Video Store, and he was known for wearing red sunglasses even inside, alongside his white mustache. "Good afternoon Jake, how's the family?" Stan asked in a jovial tone. "The fam's doing pretty good, thanks for asking Stan," replied Jake, "Do you happen to have the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who along with the Time of the Doctor Christmas special?" Stan nodded and said, "I believe we do in the British television section." Jake smiled and said, "thanks Stan." He went to the DVD section where they sold all the British television shows, many of them Doctor Who DVDs. Jake looked around, and a couple minutes later, he was able to find the 50th anniversary special and the 2013 Christmas special in DVD format. Jake picked up the two DVDs and went over to the counter to purchase them. "You excited for the new Doctor Who series coming in August?" Stan asked. "I sure am," replied Jake, "I can't wait to see what adventures Clara's going to go on with Peter Capaldi playing that new Doctor." Jake paid for the DVDs and put them in a bag, and once everything was settled, he said, "thanks again Stan!"
"Thank you Jake, have a nice day and do come again!" Stan encouraged as Jake left the video store. Jake looked both ways when he was outside, and once he saw the road was clear, he went on the road and texted his parents, letting them know that he was going to stop at the local ice cream shop. Afterwards Jake put his phone in his pocket when suddenly, and without warning, Jake felt himself being pushed by something hard and metallic, he felt like he was floating as he landed smack on the hard asphalt road, and he felt tires rolling through his body, his right leg feeling the worst of it. Jake looked at what hit him with confusion, it looked to be a 1985 Toyota Camry, the most piece of shit car ever made. Jake saw the car just drive away with little regard for his well-being. Jake was confused and barely conscious, the bag of DVDs tossed to another side. He could hear various people murmuring in shock.
Suddenly, Jake saw various scrapes on his arms, and when he saw his right leg, it was bending in a way that wasn't right, and he could swear that it was bleeding. Jake then screamed in pain, tears stinging in his eyes. He never imagined he'd get run over by a car! Suddenly, the attractive woman with the white streak in her brown hair ran up to Jake and asked with a southern drawl, "oh mah gawd, are you okay?" Jake looked at the southern belle and moaned, "no... Everything hurts... Gahh... I think that jerk broke my leg..." The southern belle looked at Jake's wounds and said, "yeah, that don't look pretty... Don't worry, Ah'm gonna get you to a hospital, 'kay sugah? Gonna lift you up on three." She counted to three and then lifted Jake in her arms. Suddenly, the southern belle then started to fly with Jake in her arms, for this was no ordinary woman, this was Rogue, one of the mutant team members of the X-Men! Jake looked down, surprised to see how high up in the air he was, and he asked, "you can fly??"
"Darn rootin' tootin'," confirmed Rogue. "Are you one of those X-Men superheroes I've been reading in the papers?" Jake asked. "That's right," said Rogue, "we're almost there... You ain't dyin' on mah watch." Jake held her hand, scared. Rogue looked at Jake's non verbal action, afraid that with his hand touching her ungloved hand, she would absorb his memories and his life force due to her mutant powers. And yet, she didn't feel anything coming from Jake. "That's odd," she thought, "Ah forgot to put on mah gloves and this boy here held mah hand. Usually this is the part where he almost drops dead from touchin' me, and yet he's alive. Ah oughtta talk to the Professor and Beast 'bout this..." Several minutes later, Rogue landed at the emergency room hospital with Jake in tow, and she went in the reception desk, yelling, "this man got run over by a car!!!! He needs medical attention!!!" Various nurses went to find a stretcher as Jake shakily got out his cell phone from his pocket. Aside from a crack, the phone wasn't severely damaged. He gave the phone to Rogue and weakly asked, "can you give this to the doctors so that they can contact my family?" Rogue took Jake's phone and said, "Of course Ah can. You're gonna be okay, awright sug?" Jake smiled weakly and said, "thanks for getting me here Rogue. That's your name, right?" Rogue nodded as the nurses came back with a stretcher. Rogue gently placed Jake on the stretcher as the nurses rolled him away to be attended to. "Are you his wife?" A female voice asked behind Rogue.
Rogue turned around and recognized one of the nurses. It was Claire Temple. "Oh no, he ain't mah husband," said Rogue, "Ah saw him get run over by some piece of shit car. Driver looked reckless. He asked me to give y'all his cell phone so that you can contact his family regardin' this medical emergency." Claire nodded and replied, "I'll be sure to contact the young man's family. Thank you Rogue, we'll take it from here." Rogue nodded and left the emergency room, deciding to go back to Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters, the home of the X-Men.
