Chapter 16 - Love Potion

Celeste's POV

I sighed and nodded. "Fine."

"Tell Mark to bring me some clean clothes and take care of paparazzi. And tell him to drop you off your apartment," Joshua said firmly.

"I am not going anywhere," I objected.

"Celeste, I am really fine. It is just procedure. I will leave early tomorrow. Go home and rest," he tried to assure me.

"No, I won't leave you alone. If you don't inform your family, then I will stay with you," I stated, determined.

As Joshua understood that insisting was meaningless, he nodded. Then I went to inform Mark about Joshua's state and ask him to bring some clothes for Joshua as well as to take care of paparazzi. So no one knew that Joshua was here.

Using the opportunity that the doctor was checking on Joshua, I went to the cafeteria to eat something. I hadn't eaten anything since morning.

When I went back to the room, Joshua was sleeping peacefully. I tiptoed towards the bed, trying not to wake him, and sat down on the chair beside him. I rested my hand on top of his hand while watching him.

I furrowed my eyebrows without opening my eyes as I felt someone was caressing my hair gently.

When I opened my eyes and lifted my head up from the bed, Joshua instantly pulled his hand away and cleared his throat, averting his gaze.

"Good morning." I gave Joshua a warm smile.

"Oh you are finally awake. Good morning," he said nonchalantly, acting like he wasn't caressing my hair.

"How are you?" I asked tenderly while trying hold myself from smiling.

"Fine. I want to leave," he replied grumpily.

"I will talk to the doctor. Do you want something to eat?" I said as I stood up and ruffled my hair.

"No, I just want to go home. I have a lot of work to do in the company," he replied, bored.

"I don't think the doctor will recommend you work right away even if you leave the hospital today. You have to rest."

"I am fine. I don't need to rest," he pouted.

"We will see. I will be back in a few minutes."

When I wanted to go, he grabbed my hand, stopping me. "Thank you for staying with me," he said, giving me a grateful look. I smiled at him warmly and left the room.

While the doctor was checking up on Joshua, I went to grab a cup of coffee for myself.

I took a few sips from my drink while going back. I didn't want to leave Joshua alone.

As I approached the room, the doctor left the room. When I asked him about Joshua's state, the doctor informed me that he was fine, and could leave the hospital.

After thanking the doctor, I went to the room. I was sure that Joshua had already put on his clothes.

"The doctor let me leave the hospital," Joshua informed me happily as soon as I walked in.

"Yes, I talked to him. But don't forget that he told you to rest for a while," I reminded him as I approached him and sat down on the bed while he was putting on his suit jacket.

"Don't worry, wifey. Your husband is strong," he commented mischievously and winked at me playfully.

I rolled my eyes without managing to hold myself from smiling.

"Where is Mark?" I asked him and looked at my watch on my wrist.

When Joshua wanted to reply, his phone rang, interrupting him.

"It must be him. Can you give me the phone?" Joshua told me while looking at himself in the mirror, brushing his hair with his fingers.

"Sure." I nodded and grabbed his phone which was on the bedside table. I gritted my teeth in irritation as I saw Rebecca's name at the screen.

"It is your girlfriend," I informed Joshua dryly, extending the phone towards him.

He opened and closed his mouth without saying anything. Then he sighed and grabbed the phone.

"Celeste-" Suddenly, the door opened, and Mark walked in.

"The car is ready," he informed Joshua.

Joshua nodded and declined the call before putting his phone into his pocket.

I grabbed my bag angrily and told Joshua bitterly. "I am leaving. You aren't alone anymore, and you feel better. So I have nothing to do here. You have a lot of people to care of you."

"Celeste," Joshua called me from behind, but I didn't stop and left the room, ignoring Mark's intrigued look.

Joshua's POV

"Yes, Dad. I will ask Hazel. She told me it was going to be ready this Friday," I told my father while walking towards Hazel's room.

"Fine. Keep me posted. Bye," he said before hanging up the phone.

When I wanted to knock on the door, I heard Hazel's voice. She was talking to someone, full of sadness and anger in her voice. "Why did that cretin have to pretend that he is Jayden and play with my feelings? He was planning to make me fall in love with him and dump me."

I instantly opened the door and asked my sister angrily. "What?! Who are you talking about?"

Who dare to hurt my sister!

"Joshua?" She mumbled in panic while Celeste bit her lower lip nervously.

"Who is that bastard?" I asked my sister, emphasizing each word while I was boiling with anger.

"Joshua, calm down," Celeste said, giving me a sympathetic look.

"Don't intervene, Celeste," I warned her, shooting daggers at her.

Now she finally remembered my existence. The last few weeks I had been trying to talk to her, but she kept ignoring me.

"Or what?" Celeste asked in frustration as she approached me.

"Don't provoke me, Celeste," I stated firmly, looking her in the eyes while there were a few inches between us.

This fucking perfume again!

Does she do it purposely? How many times should I warn her not to wear this perfume in my presence?!

She is a real witch who tries to lure me into her trap with this love potion.

"Guys! Calm down," Hazel stated in an authoritative tone and pulled Celeste back, grabbing her arm.

I gave Celeste a dirty look before traveling my gaze from her to my sister. "Who is he? Kayden?" I asked firmly, looking my sister in the eyes.

"Yes." She nodded sadly.

That fucking bastard!

"I am going to kill him," I declared in frustration, clenching my fist, and stormed out, ignoring my sister who tried to stop me.

When I was about to ignited the engine, Celeste rushed towards my car.

"Wait for me!" she shouted and got in my car quickly.

"Get out of the car!" I demanded in an authoritative tone.

"No, I won't leave you alone in this state. You are dangerous to human beings right now," she commented, determined.

I raised my eyebrow and tried to hold myself from smiling. Only this blonde woman could make me smile while I was boiling with anger.

"Do you care about that bastard more than your own husband?" I asked cockily, giving her a questioning look.

Celeste bit her lower lip and mumbled. "I don't want you to get in jail." I gave her an amused look. She averted her gaze and chewed her lower lip. "Then everyone would say that I dumped you because you got in jail if they found out about us," she added nonchalantly, ruffling her hair.

I burst out laughing.

"Joshua!" she gave me a dirty look, crossing her arms over her chest, giving me a beautiful view of her cleavage.

I stopped laughing and leaned towards her. "Fine, I will try to protect my wife's reputation," I stated seductively. She gulped nervously and averted her gaze. I grinned in amusement and turned on the initiation.

As soon as the elevator door opened, I strode into the living room furiously while Celeste was following me like a puppy. Kayden took a few steps towards me, looking slightly nervous.

"You fucking bastard!" I exclaimed angrily and punched him in the face. The bastard lost his balance and fell down.

"Joshua! Calm down!" Celeste demanded firmly, trying to pull me away from Kayden.

"Don't intervene!" I snapped at her and punched Kayden again.

"I am sorry," he apologized without fighting back.

"You have to be. I will make you regret what you have done to my sister," I stated in frustration as I grabbed his collar tightly.

"Joshua Sullivan! Stop it. You will kill him," Celeste warned me in panic, but I ignored her and kept hitting him.

"I deserved it. I know," Kayden said, pretending to be sad.

"Shut up!" I shouted angrily. "Do you think I will stop if you pretend you regret what you have done to Hazel?" I asked mockingly, grabbing his collars.

"I am not pretending. I am sincere."

I gave me a sarcastic smirk without believing him for a second and warned him firmly. "Stay away from my sister."

"I can't. I love Hazel," Kayden objected in determination.

I looked at me, stunned. Then I burst out laughing. "Don't try to befuddle her again. Otherwise, I will kill you," I stated angrily, shaking him by grabbing his collars.
