(NEW VERSION) Chapter 18

AN(as of 24 May 2014) Hi guys, I've decided to change this chapter because I'm having a bit of writer's block with the flow of the previous chapter. even though this had not been done before in the history of wattpad, I think, I hope you like the new chapter. THANKS!!

She was right. Some of the girls grew more hostile. They would deliberately mess up the files and documents. It took her hours to right them. Someone had even spilled tea, because no one ever drank coffee, decaf or otherwise, on some important documents. She had to search and replace everything without alerting Matt or her mentor, Callie Winthorpe. It was a laborious process.

However, something she hadn't foreseen, some of the girls were becoming very chummy with her. They believed, erroneously, that this would give them better access to Cameron. Or more information on him. or better yet, dirt on him. She was quick to disabuse them of that notion. She expected some repercussions but most of them were alright with that. They were initially bummed about it, going so far as to join the 'I hate Sharon and want her to leave' club but most just ignored her.

She told Cameron about her reception in the office during dinners. They took to having dinner together every evening. Most days she'd cook but if she didn't have time, she would ask Cameron to get take out. She didn't reveal all but enough to appease him. Which means he would stop asking questions. Or so she thought. He had other ideas however.

'Do you need me to talk to Matt about this?'he asked one night when he had wheedled the true extent of the hostility from her. She frowned at him.

'I don't like being tricked like that,'she told him from across the table, ignoring his question completely. 'I was promised extra ice cream here.'

'No,'he contradicted. 'You were threatened with no ice cream at all if you didn't tell everything.'

'I remembered it differently,'she pouted. He gave her an exasperated glance. She couldn't ignore the way he looked, so handsome, rugged and sexy. With his brows scrunched together, his lips pulled down in anger. Like a lumberjack. He was especially sexy when he was trying to deal with her antics. She stifled her giggle and increased her pout. He could never resist her pout for longer than 2 minutes.

'Fine,'he cried, finally giving in. 'You should bottle up that look. It'll enslave every man and you can just request ice cream and everyone will rush to do your bidding.'

'You think so?'she asked absently, watching Cameron dole out her serving of ice cream. 'A bit more.'

'No,'he warned. 'And I still haven't forgotten the question. Do you want me to talk to Matt?'he asked as he brought the bowl to the table.

She sighed. She had hoped he would have forgotten about the issue. 'No,'she said playing with her ice cream. 'I can manage.'

'But if it escalates, you would tell me right?'he asked. When she didn't reply, he repeated himself with enough steel in his voice.

'Fine, fine. I will but I can manage,'she told him. Then she asked him about his appointment the next day. 'I have already cleared it with Matt and Callie so I can leave after lunch.'

He shot her an 'I know you're changing the subject' look but he went along with it. 'Alright. I'll pick you up at 2?'

'Sure,'she said, licking her spoon clean. Cameron gave her an inscrutable look, focusing his eyes on the spoon. She thought he wanted some ice cream so she scooped some up up and offered it to him. He shook his head, as if clearing his thoughtd, and took a bite.

She couldn't help but notice how his lips moved against the spoon and how his tongue swept across his lips, to capture every drop of ice cream. She wondered how his tongue would feel on her lips, how his lips would feel against hers. She had tried to ignore his potent male appeal, being more potent with his proximity, but he overpowered all of her defenses. It was difficult to concentrate when he went around the apartment shirtless, especially after the jog or when he came home from the gym.

A throat being cleared brought her back to the present. Cameron gave her a knowing look. She scowled at him. 'What?'she snapped, returning to her melting ice cream, studiously avoiding looking at him.

'Oh nothing,'he drawled. 'Is there anymore ice cream on my lips?'

She shot his lips a glance and saw a smirk on his face. She glared at him. 'No. And I demand more ice cream,'she said. Cameron vehemently denied her request and the rest of dinner, he was continually looking away from her pout.

  - -----------@@@@@---------------

Cameron entered the reception, intending to wait for Sharon at the reception area. Well, that was the story he was sticking to anyway. He came earlier to ascertain whether the girls against Sharon were as harmless as Sharon assured him.

He made his way to the cubicles, thanking his lucky star that the receptionist wasn't paying attention to him. He had racked his brain trying of a way to get pass the reception. He knew that unless he had an appointment or a valid reason, they wouldn't let him into the office area. The previous times were because they knew Matt was in the office so they just assumed he was there to meet him. However, since it was 1, Matt would be away for lunch and he doesn't like people in his office. It was the 1 rule of Matt's he obeyed.

He stealthily made his way to Sharon's desk, which was easy since the place was almost empty with only 2 or 3 staff left, and was pleased to see everything in place. They have yet to take out their displeasure on her things. He took a seat at her chair and started to fiddle with her items.

When he looked back to when he first met her, he was surprised that it had only been 2 weeks. The comfort he felt around her defied the length of time he had known her. 2 weeks. It felt like 2 years.

They had differing views, like she feels that closed bedroom doors should be respected while he feels that 'all closed doors should always be opened', literally. Although, he had to admit, only to himself, that he only opened her bedroom door to mess with her and to see more of her spectacular body. Especially her bottom. The body that she always hides under baggy, ill fitting clothes. Which reminds him he had to take her shopping.

They had different preferences. Everytime they went to shop for groceries, they'd have arguments in the middle of the aisles about a variety of things. Once, they argued for 30 minutes on which brand of toilet paper they should buy! He wanted the one with more ply, which is more expensive, but she wanted the cheaper one because she had coupons. Coupons! How dare she argue with him about coupons? It had taken a worker to settle on a compromise. Although they had then went to the next aisle and started on another subject. Yeah, they need at least 3 hours to buy groceries together. And they refused to let only one of them buy groceries. In the past 2 weeks, he had been to the supermarket more than he had ever been before.

And, of course, there was their daily skirmishes over her ice cream intake. Usually, he was able to limit it but now that she had discovered the power of her pout on him, she was unleashing it all the time. Everyday. The only way he could resist it was if he looked away from her. However, this made him miserable and he ends up giving in just for for the sake on conversing with her, or even just look at her, during their meals. Hopefully, in the near future, the very near future, he would eventually grow immune to her pouts. ''Please God, make make me immune,''he sent a quick prayer.

Suddenly he felt someone pulling the chair back and saw someone straddling him. It was one of the malnourished, conceited, fake bitches that had been messing with Sharon. She draped her arms around him and sent him a supposedly seductive look which rubbing her groin against his before leaning down for a kiss.

He had been surprised at her bold action. Women had never approached him in this manner before. Yes, they had been forward but never to the extent of borderline sexual harassment. He broke out of his shock in time to turn his head. her lips still grazed his ears but he would not have the taste of some strange woman on him.

'What the heck is this?' Sharon asked in bewilderment. Well, it was more of a shout. And, even though he had diverted her kiss away from his lips, they still looked damned compromising.

--------@@@@@@@----

'Come on,'Cameron said as they made their way to his appointment. 'You can't still be angry about that incident.'

'I'm not angry,'she said flippantly. However, inside, she was seething. That, that, that... human dog had gone further than she had in 2 weeks. She had sat on his lap and kissed him while she, Sharon, his forced roommate, was still grappling with her feelings for him. She liked him, well more than liked him, but she'd heard many storied about him. Stories that made her hesitate. Oh, how she wished she still had someone to talk to.

'That does not sound ''not angry'','he said as he parked. She didn't say anything as they got out and he locked up. 'Sharon, come on. She had barely enough time to sit on me and kiss me before you came back.'

'Well, we both know it'd take less than a minute for you to, to, to -what's the word again?'she mumbled to herself a few tines before jumping victoriously. 'To do the dirty! Yes, to do the dirty.'

'Really? To do the dirty? That's the best you could come out with?'he asked drily as they got into the empty elevator.

'Yes!'she snapped angrily. She had almost given herself the 'think too hard' headache just to come up with the phrase and he didn't even appreciate it. People just did not appreciate her brain. She then realised something and cringed. 'Please just tell me there are no... bodily fluids,' she hissed the last part out. He stared at her and burst out laughing as they got off their floor. She hit his arm once angrily and again just because she felt like it. He just continued, almost doubling over as they reached the reception. 'Hey, it's a valid question. The both of you have desecrated my work space for me and I can never work there in peace again-'

However, she stopped talking when she was greeted with the most handsome, sexiest man she had ever seen. EVER.

'Soo dreamy,'she sighed softly.

AN hey guys. sorry I haven't been updating much. exams are around the corner so I hm don't have much space in my brain to really devote my time to this. But hopefully after exams, I'll have more space plus time :)
