Chapter 23

Cameron watched Sharon getting ready for their shoot. She was tense and uncomfortable, continually turning to him for assurance despite the make up artist's and hair stylist's chagrin . He'd smile at her and she'd turn back to the chaos of getting ready. If he could, he'd be at her side but he didn't want to disturb them further.

The shoot had gone on without a hitch after the debacle. Clay was smart in that he'd made Stephanie go first. She'd pouted for a while before creating dazzling  poses in front of the camera. He'd even overheard Clay said,'Damn, she's a beautiful and skilled model. Even if she is a witch.' The last time he saw her, she'd been pulling one of the helpers into the janitor closet. Logan and Casey's shoot were still ongoing and after that, they'd take a break before finishing with his and Sharon's shoot.

Speaking of their shoot, he noticed her dress. It hung at the stand, ready to be worn and  it was beautiful. It was gold with a bustier, sequined top. The skirt flared out and had ruffled layers. He hadn't been sure they'd get a dress that suits her at such short notice. In fact, that had been one of the arguments against being his partner.

  - --------@@@@@----------

While everyone had been stunned momentarily by Matt's suggestion, a smile slowly began to form on Cameron's lips. He hadn't thought of that but now, he was eager to start the shoot with her. He'd wanted to give her many things but he knew she would be uncomfortable with his generosity and this was one of the things he wanted to offer her. Her very own photo shoot. He'd wanted to give her the chance to dress up, show her how beautiful she was to his eyes. However, looking like a fish, her mouth opening and closing with no sound, he knew she was less than thrilled.

'That's preposterous!'Stephanie exclaimed. 'She's not a model. She barely has the looks let alone the height. What will your client  think?'

'I'd assume that my client would be happy that we finished the shoot on time with little fuss from Cameron. Well, lesser fuss,'Matt amended, remembering the threatened lawsuit. 'And from the smile from Cameron, I'd say he has nothing to say against this change of plans.'

'My contract clearly states-'

'That you have to model the outfits, with or without a partner to be decided later,'Matt said, interjecting Stephanie's rage. She was quiet. A rare occurrence in itself. However, in this case, Cameron knew she was trying to think of a loophole.

'Fine,'she snarled. He was surprised she had given soo easily but her next words disabused him of that notion. 'I'll get my lawyer to review it. And if he finds something, all of you will pay.'

'But the contract clearly states, well in fine print, that any disputes after the contract has been signed will render the contract moot and the model with have to compensate the client for any inconvenience caused. Disputes that challenged the wording of the contract itself,'Sharon said. She looked up at Cameron and corrected herself. 'Well, assuming that your contract is the same as Cameron's. However, the contract only specified the dispute is about the misinterpretation of the contract itself. Not about the misconduct of the model. So Cameron's suit against you would not have been the client's concern.'

He had to smile. She had been looking out for him and he knew if he had created a bigger fuss about the sexual harassment, she'd be at his side, whether it was to dissuade him or to support him if necessary. He dropped a kiss to her head.

'Well, ain't that peachy,'Stephanie mocked, disgusted by their interaction. 'I'll still have my lawyer review it but this won't be my last job in the industry, girl. So if you intend to stick with Cameron, you'd better watch your back.' With that she stalked out of the room, screaming left and right.

'What did you ever see in her?'Sharon asked in wonder. He flushed slightly. Well, he hadn't cared about her waspish personality, just her skills in bed when he'd hooked up with her. 'You know what? Scratch that. I don't want to feel even more frumpy than I already am. Let's just say you have lousy taste in women before me.'

'Now, to get you to hair and make up,' Matt said before Cameron could correct her

'But, I have nothing to wear,'she protested. When she was reminded of his suggestion, she grew panicky. She got out of Cameron's embrace and started pacing about the small room. 'You can't get a gown to fit me at such short notice.'

'Well, we do have one piece that could possibly fit you,'Andre from wardrobe said. 'I'm sure the designer wouldn't mind you wearing it. He was actually pretty passed that none of the models could do it justice. You know. Not enough up there. But you'd have to be in hair and make up stat.  The outfit'd take quite some time to put on.'

'But I don't know what to do,'she argued, running her fingers through her hair. 'How am I supposed to stand. Place my arm. Where am I supposed to look.'

'You'd be with me,'Cameron said. 'You don't have to do anything else but be with me. I'll guide you.' She stopped pacing and looked at him. He saw how frightened she was. How insecure. He pulled her to him and looked deep into her eyes, hoping to convince her of his sincerity. 'I will be there before, during and after. I will make sure that you come  our as the most beautiful woman alive.'

She quirked a smile. 'Well, not THE most beautiful. A beautiful woman will do. Cos, you know, it's hard to be me. All the ice cream and forced jogging. No woman can make those two work,'she joked. He saw that there was still a sliver of uncertainty but she had decided to put her trust in him. And he would not let her down.

  - --------@@@@@@----------

He was pacing in front of the changing room door. She had been adamant that he not be in the room when she changed. Apparently, she was not comfortable enough with him even after all the doors he'd forced open at home. He'd have to increase the frequency to make her less self conscious.

Home. Now, that's a foreign thought. He had an apartment. It had all the creature comforts. A Jacuzzi, waterfall shower, Egyptian bed sheet. His trophies since he'd joined the big leagues were all in one room, within specially made cases. But it wasn't a home to him. It was just a place where he rested between games, parties and work.

Then, there was his childhood home. It's where his parents reside. After he'd made it big, he'd wanted to buy another house for his parents but they'd refused. They'd said the house had too many fond memories of him and his siblings, one elder brother and 2 younger sisters. But to him, it was his parents' home. Everytime he went back, he did feel nostalgic but he'd always felt he was intruding on his parents' time.

However, now, with Sharon, he felt a sense of home. It wasn't necessarily the apartment. It was still a place for him to rest. But it has all the memories of her. How'd he made her laugh with his antics. How'd she'd scream bloody murder whenever he opened the door when she's changing. Her smile when she cooked. Their daily arguments about her ice cream intake. Even though, in his mind, he knew that the penthouse wasn't theirs, he couldn't forget the memories they'd created. It was deeply embedded in his mind.

He heard a noise. The door was opened and Sharon was coming out. Her head was looking back, she was giggling. Apparently Andre had turned his charm on her. He felt anger build in his chest even as a part of him was grateful to see Sharon relaxed. He had half a mind to hit the man on principle but he knew Sharon'd frown on it.

While he'd been busy getting rid of his anger, she'd turned and started making her way to him in teetering steps. He started forward to help but stopped when he got a good look at her. She was gorgeous. The make up, hair and dress brought out a regal air. Her hair was tied in a bun with messy fringe but it complimented her busy, ruffled dress. Her makeup was simple and clean.  Just like her.

'Cameron, help me,'she cried as she tripped. He shook his daze off and stepped forward to catch her.

'Always asking me to catch you. When is it your turn to catch me?'he joked. She made to frown at him when Clay called out for them. 'Are you ready?'

'As ready as I'll ever be,'she softly. With that she place her hand in his and let him guide her.

AN Hi guys. hope you like this chapter. I tried to make this as real as I can but since I have no clue what a real photo shoot entails, this is my rendition of it. I'm slightly nervous about this chapter because of this fact. but tell me if it works.

I'll try and post pictures of the gown and hair.

THANKS
