"ty? w-we need to talk," josh said nervously as his boyfriend sat down next to him on the couch.

"oh, god, are you breaking up with me? p-please don't. i-i swear i'll be a better boyfriend. y-you can do whatever you want to me. a-anything at all. p-please don't break up with me, josh. y-you're all that i have a-"

"i'm not breaking up with you, baby. just... i-i have some bad news," josh said, looking down sadly.

"w-what is it?" tyler asked nervously.

josh sighed and looked up at his boyfriend, taking both of his hands. "i-i'm moving, tyler."

"b-but just to like... a new house down the street, right?"

"n-no, baby. t-to california..."

tyler bursted into tears, having a full-on panic attack right then and there. though joshua knew what to do when tyler had an attack, it having happened many times before. he would hold his boyfriend in his lap, rocking him gently back and forth as he hummed a sweet song into his ear, making sure to hold his hands down so tyler couldn't start scratching at his wrists. and joshua did just that.

"i-its for my dad's work. i-it'll only be a few years, ty... a-and we can facetime and call and skype and text every night," josh said desperately, trying to calm his boyfriend down.

"a-a few years?! j-joshua i-i can't live without you for two years. y-you're the only reason i wake up in the morning a-and actually put effort into what i do and you're the only reason i smile a-and eat a-and breathe..."

"shhh, baby. you'll be ok. i'll still be with you, just not physically. i promise."

tyler just sniffled and continued to cry as josh held him in his arms, both hugging each other tightly.

"w-what am i going to do without you, joshua?"
