"I'm home!" Charles shouted just as he closed the front door. Squalling sound was heard somewhere in the house and soon enough, Maria came running to him.

"Is it done?" She asked while gripping Charles arms as strong as her little​ body could supply.

Charles chuckled at his daughter's impatience as she kept jumping up and down trying to get Charles to answer her. When the man finally gave an answer by nodding, Maria screamed and began dancing to whatever tune was in her head.

It was a few months ago when Charles went looking for the missing girl while his mate was on bed rest. After he came back that day with Maria, Ron and the girl were everywhere together. When Charles began preparations to leave for Ron's pack, he knew Ron wouldn't want to leave the girl behind so he started working on getting full custody of Maria which meant adopting the girl.

Finally, after waiting for months to get everything done, Charles and Ron had finally adopted the girl as their own and it was a news that everyone was anticipating, especially Maria. That's the reason of her shouting and screaming she was doing at the moment.

"Thank you." Ron whispered to Charles when he reached him. He understood that adopting Maria wasn't an easy choice for Charles but the man did it to make him and Maria happy. Charles had also risked his life to rescue Maria which was something that came up in Ron's mind now and then. Charles has done so much for him and he's glad to do the same for Charles anytime the situation calls for it.

"Your welcome, love. Besides, I think she will make a great big sis to our baby." Charles kissed Ron on the forehead before hugging him.

"So I can now call you dad and daddy?" Maria asked​ the embracing couple and Charles smiled while Ron sighed as he pulled away from Charles.

"Riah babe, I've told you countless times to call us that already. So please, stop asking." Ron said.

"I'm sorry, Daddy, I won't ask again." Maria smiled and hugged Ron's big stomach. Ron wrapped his arms around her too while smiling, obviously over the moon since he was called Daddy by Maria.

"Are you guys done packing?" Charles asked and Maria shook her head before running off towards her bedroom then suddenly she came running back out towards Charles.

"Thanks, Dad, for choosing me." The little girl said while hugging him real quick before running off again.

Ron laughed while looking at a stunned Charles that was still staring towards the direction where Maria left to.

"I don't know if I'll get used to that." Charles murmured and Ron smiled before leading his mate towards the kitchen.

The family had been packing there things and sending some ahead of them. They only had a few things remaining in the house since most of the furniture was being donated to the orphanage that they had been renovating. Now that Maria was officially their own, they had nothing else stopping their departure. They were boarding a private jet that was sent by Kenneth to collect his beta and family.

Ron was happy to be going back home, back to his pack lands. He knew a lot was waiting for him back home but he wouldn't care about it that much. He had Charles and Riah, plus any day from now, their child will be born. Other than giving birth, Ron was somehow dreading meeting the in-laws. Even though Charles assured him that they weren't that bad, Ron was still not looking forward to the moment. He's met Charles father a few times but that was as Kenneth's beta not a son in-law.

"What is it?" Charles asked when he saw Ron was being too silent.

"Nothing." Ron replied but Charles still looked at him in worry.

"Is it the baby again? Is she still giving you trouble?" Charles asked again to which Ron scoffed.

"It's a he not she and no it's not him. He's been nice today." Ron grumbled.

Ron said the baby would be a boy while Charles said it would be a girl. Charles reasoning being, since the baby had a knack of kicking fiercely, his sister Amber was the most active between his siblings and used to kick him and his brothers. So it was likely the baby was a she and just like her aunt.

Ron reasoning was simple. A mother's instinct.

Charles just smiled at his mate before telling him to rest while he finishes up packing. It didn't take him long and soon enough, they were all ready to go.

The orphanage track had just pulled away from their house with the last furniture when the three climbed in their car to drive to the airport. They were meeting Sanjay at the airport who wanted to wish them well on there flight.

Charles looked at Ron who was seated beside him on the passenger seat while Maria was seated at the back. Ron was sleeping with his hand on his belly and Charles couldn't help but notice the shining gold band that was on his mates finger. Charles knew he couldn't change his past happenings and it was stupid to be dwelling on them. What mattered most was the the present and that was having a man like Ron, to call his.

Charles had to wake up Ron when they reached the airport and he helped him along to where Sanjay was waiting for them. Surprisingly​, beside Sanjay stood Nicklaus. After getting help from Nicklaus in rescuing Maria, Charles had come to know a few things about the guy. Nicklaus was actually training with Zach, Charles best friend, so that he would get to control his dragon. His wolf, however, was dormant. If it wasn't for the fact that it was an alpha wolf within him, Charles wouldn't have even been able to sense it. After his dragon training, his wolf training would take place and that was maybe a year or two from now.

Two omegas that came with the jet, approached Charles and Ron. After Ron greeted Sanjay and Nicklaus, he left with the omegas, along with Maria.

"So," Sanjay started and Charles rolled his eyes.

"This isn't goodbye, Sanjay. I'll visit and you will visit. I'll also help with your company if I'll have the time, so no need to get emotional with me." Charles told his friend who nodded and looked like he was trying not to cry. Yeah, Sanjay could be such a child at times. Charles hugged him then turned to Nicklaus.

"Thanks for everything, Nicklaus." Charles said.

"No need and I've had enough of that."

"Okay fine. Take care of this one for me." Charles nodded to Sanjay who was occupied with his phone at the moment.

"Don't worry about him, he'll be fine." Nicklaus said before adding, "and I'll see you again it seems. Your mate is one of the wolves I'll have to train with when I start my wolf training."

Charles haven't seen it himself but he has heard that Ron was the best of the best pack warrior and a fearless beta, so it didn't come as a surprise to why Nicklaus would train with him.

After talking to Nicklaus and Sanjay, time came for Charles to leave and he joined his mate and Maria in the jet. A nurse had already checked on Ron before Charles came in and she told him that Ron was doing okay at the moment.

The flight home was spent in silence except when Maria would occasionally talk to Charles and that was when she was awake. Ron mostly slept away and that left Charles all alone. The jet landed in Alpha Kenneth's pack land and from there, they were supposed to travel by car to reach the Central City's palace where the alpha and beta where expected to live at.

"What's wrong?" Charles asked his mate who had groaned painfully at his side as they walked to the cars waiting for them.

"It's just a crump, nothing much I think." Ron said and Charles nodded. They continued walking but before reaching the car, Ron gripped Charles arm as he gasped in pain. The nurse quickly came to Ron's side and helped Charles bring him to the car.

"His water has broke." The nurse announced just as another came to them. The nurses helped Ron in the car and got in with him while Charles got in another car with Maria. The ride to the Central City seemed to be longer for Charles since his driver seemed to drive really slow. Charles made sure Maria was buckled up before he took over from the driver and drove the car himself.

By the time he pulled up to the palace, Ron was being wheeled to the palace clinic and he followed behind the rushing nurses. He had to wait outside the delivery room with Maria and that's where Kenneth and Roman found him. They both waited for hours until a nurse came out to tell them the baby was finally here.

"What's the gender?" Charles asked the nurse and she replied with a smile.

Charles couldn't stop smiling at the nurse's information and when he finally carried his baby girl, the smile got even bigger. She was beautiful and knowing it was his and Ron's child, he couldn't be any happier than he was.

Ron might have been his second chance mate but Charles knew that everything that came with Ron was never second rated, never unintentional or never unexpected. It was the other way round. Ron was his accidental love that wasn't accidental at all. When Ron woke up after resting for a few hours, the first thing to ask was the baby's gender and Charles looked smug as he replied.

"It's a girl."
