Pulling away from the embrace, I glanced down at Jack to see his cheeks painted with a light tint of blush. My stomach twisting in knots, Jack opened his mouth seeming like he was about to say something before he pursed his lips as the nurse entered the room, a plastered smile warily strewn across her face.

"Hey! Sorry for interrupting if I was, it's just time for Jack's medication."

"Oh, it's alright! No worries!" Flashing her a false smile, I backed away from the bed as she drew closer. Leaning over and placing her hand on Jack's forehead then behind his ears, she pulled out a flashlight shining them across Jack's eyes checking for proper pupillary responses. Seeming satisfied, she clicked the button on the flashlight turning it off, before setting it down to the side gently.

Turning behind her to clutch onto the glass of water by Jack's bed she handed it to him and a bottle she had pulled from her coat. Popping open the lid and counting the right amount of pills, she handed him three in his hand and squeezed his hand lightly before letting go and standing up straight once more.

"Take those three now, and I'll bring you your meal soon. If you feel nauseous or your temperature rises, notify us, and we'll send someone to check on you okay sweetheart?" Her eyes being covered by a poker face, Jack nodded and mumbled thank you before she left the room.

Glaring at the set of pills, Jack let out a groan before tossing them into his mouth and chugging them down with water. A shudder following after he swallowed, he looked up at me, less than displeased.

"I hate taking medication."

"Really? You seemed to be enjoying it."

"Screw off." A snort escaping Jack, a smile crept its way onto my lips as I sat back down on the bed trying to find a subject to talk about, only to remember one of the topics from before.

"The last of us."

"Huh?"

"It's not a movie, it's a video game. But it always gets me, especially the ending. Always end up bawling like a complete baby." Jack's eyes going wide for a second, surprised by the sudden compliance toward his questions, a grin smacked onto his face as he relaxed into his pillow behind him.

"Any Disney movie ever. Pretty much, even if it has a happy ending. I'm a sucker for anything really." Jack chuckling, swiping through some fond memories, I saw his face fall as he turned to look at me.

"Mark? You know you don't have to spend time with me just because you feel bad you know? I want to make that clear so you don't tear yourself up inside. Since none of this was your fault you know?"

"Jack... Why would you say something like that?" His chest growing heavy, he scooted a small bit closer to Jack, placing a hand gently on his shoulder as he stared at Jack's troubled face.

"I just don't want you to be doing this out of guilt. That's all." His words trailing off into silence between the two of us, I felt heat rush to my eyes as a tear fell down my face. Jack glancing up at me, his eyes widened as he leaned forward hurriedly and grasped my hand tightly.

"Hey! I-I didn't mean it like that I'm sorry! I just wanted you to know that you don't have to worry about me, that's all Mark!" Sniffles coming out of me, I raised a hand to wipe the tears off my face as I shook my head.

"Of course I'm going to be worried about you. You're a wonderful person." Jack's worried face melting a small bit with a smile, he opened his mouth to say something before twisting backwards, a scream erupting from his lips.

"Jack!" getting up from off of the bed, I rushed towards him quickly, my hand cupping his face as I stared into his eyes. One eye open looking up at me, he continued to rustle in his bed, pants and pain filled cries trying to be silenced by his continuous attempt to keep his mouth shut.

Slamming his head back onto his pillow, he gazed at me helpless. But I could see it clear as day what he was trying to ask.

Please get the nurse.

Hello Everyone!

Sorry about the little cliff hanger, but it's going to be quite a long one next update so stay tuned for that next week! I have a tiny announcement, more like a warning for those who actually read my notes XD

But I'm going to be going on vacation, a vacation for twelve days, with no Wi-Fi. I leave on the second of March, so I'll update weekly up until then and then once more the day before just to leave you guys with something while I'm away.

Also! This is for people who like the anime BNHA (Boku no Hero Academia) I've published a fan fiction of it! It's a book on Wattpad only published recently called Shades, and I don't want to pry too much into it to keep things interesting but it's my own created AU where your quirks were ranked by the colors of your souls. Your souls color can be shown through your eyes once getting the injection when you are young and it will classify your quirk and rank.

The main character is Bakugo, so things are pretty interesting as it is.
