Chapter 5: A day with the princesses
(Normal pov)
Hiccup was dressed in his black leather attire, he was munching on an apple while leaning back against Toothless who was eating a pile of fish he had caught, the boy was eager to take Anna out on a flight, he had asked both her parents for permission, Agnarr told me to be careful, as did Iduna, but they gave me permission.
::Hiccup, calm yourself my friend. Take a deep breath::
Toothless snorted as he felt Hiccup tap his foot rapidly, the boy turned to his dragon and chuckled lightly. "I can't help it bud, Anna and Elsa both they're... they're both something else. I've gotten to know Elsa on my spare time and I can tell that we share a lot in common, Anna too." Hiccup sighed heavily and looked out into the horizon. "We've not even been here for a month and already I feel like this is where I belong bud." Hiccup said honestly before continuing. "You remember back on Berk, there were times I'd visit you and I was bloodied and so badly hurt that you had to lick my entire body from all the cuts, gashes, scrapes and other wounds those... animals inflicted upon me." The boy turned to his dragon and hugged his head tightly, Toothless purred and nuzzled into his riders chest.
"I love you bud." Hiccup whispered, Toothless nuzzled even deeper into his riders chest and growled in contentment.
::I love you as well Hiccup. It already seems like a lifetime ago when you and I spared each others lives in the forests. I... I cannot believe I'm saying this but... I'm glad that you shot me down. If you had not? We would never have met and I wouldn't be here on this adventure with you::
Hiccup chuckled and kissed his dragons head and scratched the Night Fury's chin, he was truly fortunate to have made such a friend when his days on Berk were all but dark. But Hiccup would not dwell about his suffering on Berk any longer, he was free, Toothless too, and they could be who they were without being judged.
"Hiccup!"
Said boy turned to see Anna in a light green long sleeve dress and black coat as well as an emerald necklace, her strawberry blond hair was done in a half up half down style, and her cheeks had a light flush and her freckles popped out in the morning sun. She was gorgeous.
Before I could continue admiring her appearance, she embraced me tightly, I chuckled lightly and returned her embrace, when we pulled apart, she put on a serious face, but still had her goofy looking grin. "So, Hiccup. Shall we go?" She asked, I smirked at her, I then climbed on Toothless and I then raised my hand out for her, she took it and I hoisted her on with ease, she then wrapped her arms around my torso and we shared a warm smile, I then patted Toothless's neck. "Lets go bud." I said, Toothless nodded and we shot up toward the heavens.
"WHOA!!!" Anna yelled out but then burst into laughter, I laughed with her, the roaring winds were slapping our faces and making our eyes wet with tears, Toothless had his mouth open and his tongue was hanging from the side of his mouth. "This is incredible!!" Anna said with amazement, I turned to her and nodded. "You should see Toothless when he performs daredevil tricks, but for your safety, we'll take it easy." Hiccup said, causing the girl to pout at his words but nod in thanks and understanding.
(Hiccup's pov)
As we flew around the area, Anna nuzzled her face into my neck, causing the hairs on the back of my neck to stand up straight and I could feel a warm sensation in my gut. "I could stay up here forever." Anna said, I nodded in agreement. "I know, up here you don't even feel the winds or the cold, you just feel..."
"Free." Anna said, I turned my head to her, she smiled and nodded at me. "You feel free up here." She said, I grinned lightly at here. "Exactly." I said, I could see Anna's facial expression twist with joy, I couldn't blame her. A princess of a kingdom and you rarely leave the kingdom, only on most serious occasions or events. I couldn't help but lean my face towards her, about halfway, our lips met and my heart was threatening to burst out of my chest. Anna's lips tasted divine. She cupped my cheeks and continued to kiss me and I sighed happily into the kiss.
When we broke apart, we were both flushed with embarrassment and surprise, I lowered my head slightly. "Forgive me Anna, I-" But Anna shushed me and smiled at me. "No. You have nothing to be sorry for. I know we've only known each other for a few weeks, but... I feel like I've known you my whole life Hiccup. I like you, I like you a lot." She said honestly and with sincerity, she leaned in to kiss me again and I didn't hesitate, when our lips touched again, Anna wrapped her arms around my neck and I smiled into the kiss.
Any feelings or attraction I had left for Astrid Hofferson abandoned me forever.
(Hours later)
Upon returning to Arendelle, I slid off of Toothless and helped Anna back on her feet, we held each others hands and we smiled warmly at each other. "Thank you Hiccup, I had an amazing time." Anna said, I nodded at her. "As did I Anna." We then leaned in and kissed each other again, and again, and again, and again. When we shared one final kiss, Anna hugged me tightly, I immediately hugged her back and nuzzled my face into her hair.
"Can we do this again sometime?" Anna asked, when we pulled apart, I smiled and shrugged. "If you really want to." I said, she nodded furiously at me. "I do. I do!" She said with a child like excitement which caused me to laugh but nodded. "Very well Anna, we shall fly together again when we are able." I promised her, we bid each other goodbye and shared one last kiss. When we broke apart from the kiss, Anna shot me a grin and gestured to the castle. "Shall we?" She asked, I grinned at her and nodded. "We shall." I held my arm out for her, she smiled and took it as we returned back to the castle.
(York— Kingdom of Northumbria)
In York, lies the city of Eoferwic, and here is where the Berserkers and Outcast would use as their own fortress. Both Viking tribes had made a pact some months back that they'd travel to points unknown and raid, plunder and kill, and by arriving at the West? That is what they would do.
The Berserkers were led not by Oswald the Agreeable, but on the contrary, they were being led by Oswald's son Dagur the Deranged. The young chieftain was looking at his reflection in a mirror as he finished braiding his hair and fixed his leather armor, he traced three fingers down his left eye, he then grabbed his sword and sheathed it in his scabbard, he heard a knock at his chamber doors, the young chieftain turned to see one of his men. "What is it?" Dagur demanded, the Berserker bowed his head. "Lord, Alvin the Treacherous and his Outcasts have arrived."
Dagur moved to the door of his chambers and pushed his man aside and went outside to the gates of Eoferwic, the chieftain looked to his men that were manning the gates. "Open that gates!!" The Berserkers opened them to reveal the chieftain of the Outcasts and his second in command with all their men and resources.
"Alvin! Welcome to Eoferwic!" Dagur said, Alvin looked around to see Berserkers everywhere and handling slaves, whores and the citizens with rough hands, the Outcast chief snickered and nodded and spoke out. "Aye Dagur. Perhaps you'd be kind enough to provide me and my men ale and food? It was a long walk from here and to where our ships are anchored." Dagur nodded and led the Outcasts to the castle within the city. Upon entering, the Berserkers inside were feasting and getting drunk while being accompanied by whores to pleasure them. Dagur led Alvin and Savage at a table and when the trio sat down, food and ale were brought to them.
"So. When do we begin our attack?" Savage asked, Dagur turned to Alvin's right hand and then to the man himself. "Well, my men and I have had our sights set on a trading kingdom called Arendelle. It has enough food, weapons, women and resources that'll benefit us all." Dagur said with a giddy tone before sinking his teeth into a roasted chicken leg, Alvin raised an eyebrow at Dagur. "What are the Saxons defenses?" He asked, the Berserker chieftain took another bite out of his chicken leg and shrugged. "Eh, catapults at the ready at every possible entry way and archers on the walls. Who knows what they have within their walls should they ever be breached." Dagur took another bite of his chicken and scooped up a mouthful of mashed potatoes into his mouth.
Alvin too was devouring his food, it had been a long journey out at sea and there was a viscous storm that swallowed five of his ships and many of his men, so this campaign would have to be very beneficial to himself and the Outcasts.
"So... we just wait around for the Saxons to attack us then? We may be two armies strong but we Outcasts need time to recoup our losses from what the North Sea took from us and we need time to gather our strength for when we raid Arendelle." Savage stated, causing Alvin to hum in agreement, the Outcast chieftain turned back to Dagur. "Do we have a plan?" He asked, Dagur took a huge swig of his ale and nodded at Alvin. "We do. Once we gather our strength, we shall discuss our plan." Dagur said, he then raised his mug to Alvin and smiled. "Skol." Alvin chuckled and raised his mug at Dagur. "Skol." They then chugged the ale down within seconds and slammed their mugs on the table, mixing it with the other noises of feasting, fist fights, whores moaning like an animal in the heat and cheers in the air. They were all ready to spill blood and take their prize.
(Elsa's pov)
I looked out my window and sighed sadly, I saw Hiccup and Anna kiss. Multiple times. They seemed happy, and that made me happy to an extent, its just that... I felt something for Hiccup. The way he pays attention to me when I speak my heart to him, when I show him my powers he doesn't see me as an abomination, he looks at me as if I'm... an angel. And Hiccup was the only person, besides my parents that I've gotten to see or speak to in all this time. And perhaps its my loneliness that made me feel this way about Hiccup, but then again maybe it isn't.
But it seems Hiccup favors Anna. And I know he'll respect my little sister, I've seen the way those two are.
A knock on my door interrupts my thoughts, I approach my door and opened it to reveal Hiccup. My eyes widened in surprise, he smiled at me and it made my heart beat a little faster and caused butterflies to swarm my belly.
"Elsa. May I come in?" He asked respectfully, I nodded at him and allowed him in, when I closed the door, I saw him look out the window and then back at me. "Elsa I... I have a confession to make to you." He said, I cocked my head slightly. "Oh? And whats that?" I asked, he licked his lips and then turned back to me. "I... like you. I like you and Anna. A lot." He said, causing me to gasp in surprise. Hiccup liked me? He liked me in that way?
"Elsa, when we talk to each other... I see myself in your eyes. I know what its like to be afraid, to feel like your people won't accept your for who you are, believe me, I know." Hiccup said, he then approached me until we were arms length of each other. "You and Anna both are kind, intelligent, beautiful and... people that I can relate to." He said with genuine truth, he grasped my hands gently and I looked into his eyes. "Anna told me of how you and her were the best of friends when you were children, and she believes that you shut her out, but we both know thats not true, she craves affection from you, but you fear you'll hurt her again with your powers." He stated, I nodded at him, Hiccup chuckled lightly and looked into my eyes. "My former father, I craved affection from him when my mother was killed by dragons, I... wanted him to love me the way a father should love a son. But instead he cast me aside and left me to the wolves."
I gave Hiccup a sad look, I placed my hand on his cheek and caressed it. "But thats the past Hiccup. You have a bright future here in Arendelle. I-I like you too Hiccup. I know we haven't know each other long but... when I'm near you? I feel like I can tell you everything I'm feeling and you wouldn't judge me." I said, I then looked away, but before I could retreat, Hiccup grasped my hips and pulled me closer to him, causing me to gasp in surprise.
"Elsa..." He said, he then lifted his hand to my face caressed my cheek lovingly before continuing. "...you have nothing to be ashamed of. Your powers are nothing to be ashamed of, do you know why? Because they are apart of you. And every part of you is beautiful." He said, I chuckled at him and smiled at him in thanks, but before I could speak, he leaned in and kissed me, my eyes widened in surprise, but I melted into the kiss and slowly closed my eyes and kissed him back. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him in closer, he placed his hands on my hips and hugged me closer to him, I moaned lightly as he caressed my exposed skin on my neck. My heart was pounding like war drums and my lungs demanded I separate from his lips to breathe, but this kiss? I now know that Hiccup isn't who I thought he was, just because he was Viking, doesn't mean he is now.
Finally when we broke apart, we looked into each others dilated eyes and laughed lightly, he then pulled me into a warm embrace and I melted into his arms and nuzzled my face into his firm and strong chest. "Elsa, you know I cannot keep this from Anna, its not fair to her." He stated, I nodded in agreement. "You're right, tell what has happened between us and hopefully she understands why you like us both in this way." I then looked into his eyes and smiled at him. "Tell her exactly what you said to me and she'll understand. I'm sure of it." I said, he smiled at me and nodded. "I will." He pulled me in for another kiss and I kissed him back. I could get used to kissing Hiccup, because he was the only man I wanted to kiss.
(Hiccup's pov)
"Anna?" I was looking around the castle for her, I then laid eyes on the gardens and saw her, I then entered the gardens to see her with her hair down and I saw her smelling a flower, and the sight made my mouth go dry, the sunlight bathed her in its divine light and if looks could kill? I'd be long dead.
I cleared my throat, when she turned to face me she grinned at me. "Hiccup!" She then rushed towards me and embraced me tightly, I chuckled lightly at her and hugged her back, I needed to tell her how I felt about her and Elsa. When we pulled apart, I placed my hands on her shoulders and steeled my nerves. "Anna... I need to tell you something." I confessed, she cocked her head slightly. "Alright, what is it?" She asked, I licked my lips and then looked back at her. "I... I have feelings for you." I started, she smiled at me, but before she could speak, I continued. "I also have feelings for your sister." I said, her eyes widened in surprise. "My father told me that you and Elsa would be spending time together." She then looked into my eyes. "She likes you too?" She asked, I nodded at her. "I like both of you Anna. You both carry traits that remind me so much like myself and you two have treated me with nothing but kindness, respect and care."
I then cupped Anna's cheek carefully and told her exactly what I told Elsa, and that I had craved the love my father was supposed to give to me and that he denied me that fatherly love and left me into a world of hurt, pain, humiliation and suffering. After almost half an hour of explaining myself to her, Anna absorbed the information and nodded.
"So you like both of us, Elsa and myself like you as well." She said to herself then turned to me, she sighed and nodded. "I understand your reasons for liking us both Hiccup. Tell me, how is Elsa? I haven't seen her since we were kids, does she care about me still?" She asked, I nodded at her and smiled in assurance. "Anna, she loves you. She told me that she yearns to be reunited with you again, but..."
"But what?" She asked, I sighed and looked at her. "She has her reasons to stay away from you." I said, Anna scoffed lightly. "Like what? What is it that she's so afraid of?" She asked, I licked my lips and answered her. "She... she has ice powers." I said, this news caused Anna's eyes to widen in surprise and shock, her eyes widened even further and she turned back to me. "Thats right... I remember as kids we were playing and she accidentally hit me in the head with her powers. And my parents took us to a secret place where trolls live..." My eyes widened at the mentioning of trolls. So they do exist! I then turned my attention back to Anna. "...the trolls shaman— Pabbie, he removed the memories of Elsa ever having powers." She then looked to me and chuckled in disbelief. "She still loves me." She said with relief, I then pulled her into a warm embrace as she began shedding tears of joy, all this time, Anna believed Elsa hated her, but now the younger princess knows better.
"Elsa loves you Anna, she always has." I said to reassure any doubts in her mind, when Anna looked into my eyes, she pulled me into a passionate kiss, I kissed her back and held her close, when we broke apart, she wiped the tears of her cheeks and gave me a thankful smile. "Thank you for telling me this Hiccup. Thank you." She said as she hugged me once again, I nodded and hugged her back. "I'm here for you Anna. Whenever you need me, I'll be here to comfort you." I promised, she hummed in thanks and just held me tightly. I looked up into the heavens and chuckled lightly.
This is where I belong.
A/N: Ahaha. A lot of fluff here. So, I can quite honestly see Hiccup in a relationship with both Anna and Elsa. Anna craved Elsa's love as kids, similarly to Hiccup craving Stoick's affection and love. And Elsa was afraid that her people would not accept her because of her powers, similarly to the way Hiccup believed Berk and Stoick wouldn't accept making peace with dragons. But thats just my thoughts, we'll be getting to some more action soon, I promise. Catch y'all in the next update!
