Chapter 2 of 28: Sonatas In The Sakura Garden
On September 17th, the halls of Guerzon Castle were enveloped in silence, a stark contrast to the sudden, loud crash that echoed through its walls. Ava Murray was in the throes of another outburst, with Mrs. G at her side, attempting to provide some comfort. "GOD DAMMIT!" Ava's frustration sent her collapsing to the floor, Mrs. G watching on with a mix of concern and disapproval.
"But Ava, I've scoured the entirety of Livermore High School to secure the finest prize a band teacher could ever lay hands on," Mrs. G explained, trying to appease her.
"It's not ENOUGH!" Ava retorted, her voice laced with anger.
Mrs. G let out a weary sigh. "I understand you're upset, Ava," she said, just as Ava let out another cry of frustration, her fists relentlessly pounding the wall.
Attempting to steer the conversation towards a more positive direction, Mrs. Guerzon suggested, "Why don't you tell me what you REALLY want for your birthday?"
Ava paused her display of anger, pondering for a moment before her eyes lit up with an idea. "Japan," she declared.
"But Ava, Japan is on another continent," Mrs. Guerzon gently reminded her, trying to temper her expectations.
Ava's face flushed with anger, her patience worn thin. "I DON'T CARE! I WANT JAPAN FOR MY BIRTHDAY!" she demanded.
As Mr. Jingles and his companions enjoyed a moment of calm, appreciating the temporary respite from the Band Clan's antics, Haru concurred with the Jester's sentiment. "Indeed, when Mrs. G organizes a birthday party for her students, they're usually holed up in the Band Room all day," he remarked.
Suddenly, Kamari's voice pierced the tranquility. "OH NO! IT'S MRS. GUERZON'S DOOM SHIP!" she exclaimed in terror. Mr. Jingles, quick to react, proposed a strategy amidst the chaos of the ship's attack. "I'll try to hold them off while you all make a run for it!"
However, their escape plan was thwarted as music stands, entwined with chains, descended upon them, trapping the group in agonizing binds. Ava emerged at the forefront of the doom ship, her presence commanding and smug. "You're merely the Jester of the insignificant Orchestra Town," she taunted. Flaunting her ambition, she declared, "I! Am going to be the Queen! Of Japan!" Her laughter echoed menacingly, while Mrs. G looked on with a mixture of admiration and pride. "You really know how to make a teacher proud," she complimented Ava, then turned her attention to the captives. "PUT THEM IN THE DUNGEON!" she ordered.
Haru, overwhelmed by a sense of defeat, lamented their predicament. "Our poor home country, we can't even warn them that the band kids are on their way." The grim reality of their situation set in, as they faced the formidable Mrs. Guerzon and her ambitious protégé, Ava, against the backdrop of their once peaceful town.
As the citizens of Japan gathered around the area where Ava stood, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation and unease. Ava, basking in the spotlight of her newfound power, made a bold declaration. "It's time for a meaner, crueler Japan!" she proclaimed, her voice echoing with pride.
Mrs. Guerzon, ever supportive of her protégé's ambitions, encouraged Ava to share her vision for the future. "Read them your new laws, Ava!" she prompted, a gleam of excitement in her eyes.
Ava, with a list in hand and a smirk on her face, began to unveil her decrees. "Law Number 1: Every airport in Japan must grant me First Class access," she announced, her demand setting a tone of self-indulgence and authority.
Her expression soured as she moved on to the entertainment industry. "Any boy band who fails to compose a song in my honor will be turned into a ROCK!" Ava declared. Mrs. G, wielding her magic baton, demonstrated her loyalty to Ava's rule by instantly transforming three of the bands into stone, much to the shock and dismay of onlookers.
Ava's ambitions did not stop there. "All the gold in The Bank of Japan will be melted down to create a lifetime supply of charm necklaces for me!" she proclaimed, her greed knowing no bounds.
Mrs. Guerzon, moved by Ava's display of power, applauded enthusiastically. "YAY AVA!" she cheered, tears of pride welling in her eyes as she placed a hand over her heart, overcome with emotion.
Then, in a moment that sought to redefine the allegiance of a nation, Mrs. Guerzon led a chant that was as audacious as it was alarming. "Recite after me, Japan. I pledge allegiance to Ava. And to the rebel in her, for which she stands."
The scene marked a pivotal moment, as Ava and Mrs. Guerzon attempted to impose a new order upon Japan, challenging the values and freedoms of its people with their whimsical and tyrannical laws.
In the depths of the Band Room Dungeon, Kamari gestured urgently towards the bars. "Look there! Haru, it's the Tokyo Imperial Palace. And there's Japan's president!" Mr. Jingles chimed in with concern, "Without rescuing him and the Palace from this alternate dimension, Ava's going to wreak havoc on Japan!" Haru was perplexed, "How are we supposed to aid Japan when we're trapped ourselves, guarded round the clock?" Their guards were no ordinary ones; a flutist, a clarinetist, and a percussionist stood watch. Yet, Mr. Jingles was already hatching a scheme. "I have a plan, Haru!" He approached the Clarinetist and Percussionist with a taunt, "Hey! The Percussionist boasts they can outplay you easily!" The Clarinet player was instantly infuriated, "THEY SAID WHAT?!" Mr. Jingles couldn't help but smirk. "Exactly, so are you going to let that slide?" Prompted by the taunt, the guard unleashed a screeching blast that sent the percussionist reeling, dumbfounded. Mr. Jingles egged on, "Are you just going to stand there?" The percussionist retaliated with a resounding crash, only for the Clarinetist to block his ears, propelling the percussionist away. Mr. Jingles then faced the remaining flutist, "You're not going to let them overshadow you, right?" With a determined shake of their head, the flutist hit a piercing high note. Chaos ensued as Mr. Jingles dodged skillfully. "Quick! Use your stands!" he yelled. Puzzled, the trio held up their shackles. "These?" Mr. Jingles confirmed with a nod, "Exactly, now follow me! Into the crossfire!" As they leapt into action, the flurry of musical attacks struck their chains, breaking them free. "NOW'S OUR CHANCE! RUN!" Mr. Jingles urged. They dashed towards the warp pipe, escaping the dungeon's confines, only to be met with the ground trembling beneath them. The ominous hum of the doom ship signaled its return.
Once again, Mrs. Guerzon amplified her voice using the megaphone. "Attention, Band Clan!" The six band members who remained hastened to the window, Serena trailing slightly behind. "Your comrade Ava has at last discovered a birthday gift that delights her!" Jasmine let out a snicker, "At last, something to quiet her tantrums." Gripping the laser firmly, Mrs. Guerzon announced her sinister plan, "I'll ensure Ava remains joyful! I'll place the ruler of Japan where he can never be saved - in the depths of the Orchestra Sea!" Her declaration was punctuated by a malevolent laugh. As she activated the laser, the Palace was seen plummeting into the ocean, quickly submerging. Within its walls, a terrified Hiyoko Kirigiri screamed for help, "HELP! I CAN'T SWIM!"
On the surface, Marina, Mr. Jingles, and Haru were stricken with horror at the unfolding events. However, Kamari was quick to devise a rescue strategy. She dashed to retrieve her swimsuit from the chest. Mr. Jingles anxiously urged her, "Hurry, Kamari! Once the Palace hits the seabed, Japan's fate is sealed forever!" Suitably attired, Kamari charged towards the water, diving in with determination. It was a crucial moment - a daring mission to rescue Japan was about to begin!

As Kamari navigated through the underwater realm towards the submerged Palace, she encountered hostile sea creatures. Glancing back and realizing she was being pursued, fear spurred her into a frantic swim to maintain her stealth. The sea foes relentlessly followed, closing in with menacing speed. In a stroke of fortune, Kamari collided with an underwater block during her escape, propelling it upwards where it struck and neutralized her pursuers.
Exhausted from the intense swim, Kamari sought refuge on what appeared to be a nearby rock, only to discover it was yet another adversary, and a quicker one at that. Kamari, adept at evasion, sought cover behind a rock formation. Despite her efforts to remain unseen, she was eventually spotted. Resorting to a cunning escape, she darted into the labyrinth of underwater pipes, skillfully navigating through to lose the fast-moving enemy in the confusing maze.
Her tactics successful, the enemy eventually abandoned the chase, leaving Kamari to proceed unhampered. She finally reached the Palace, slipping inside to continue her daring mission.
Hiyoko swiftly closed the door to prevent further water from entering. Glancing over at Kamari, concern etched her features. "Are you part of the Japanese Military?" Kamari grinned, her response brimming with enthusiasm. "Even better! We're from the Super Orchestra Couple's Super Fixing Service! And what this place needs is a thorough drainage!" With determination, she leaped from her stand and reached for the drain lever. Pulling it, she directed the water back to the surface using powerful jets. Hiyoko couldn't help but smile faintly. "You're a remarkable hero, Kamari-san. I'm sure the president will sing your praises to all our acquaintances!" However, Mr. Jingles and his companions approached them, urgently calling for Kamari, leaving Hiyoko feeling apprehensive and bewildered. "Goodness gracious! What's happening?" Haru, looking concerned, addressed Hiyoko. "Mrs. Guerzon is preparing the doomship for an assault on London, Paris, and Germany, of all places!" Mr. Jingles gripped Kamari's shoulders tightly. "You and Haru are the only hope to prevent reality from resembling Band Kid's world."
The guards were busy loading supplies onto the doomship, preparing it for its journey to the real world. However, Kamari and Haru had a daring plan. Disguised as Band Kids, they concealed themselves within the cargo boxes. Despite their disguise, Haru couldn't shake off her worries. "Are you sure these disguises will let us sneak onto Mrs. G's doomship?" she whispered anxiously. "Absolutely," Kamari reassured her with confidence.
As they passed by a guard, Kamari's disguise even fooled Haru. "Gosh, even I don't recognize you, and you're supposed to be my boyfriend!" she chuckled. Successfully infiltrating the ship, they believed they had outsmarted the guards. However, one of the guards was onto them. "I think your chest is getting bigger, Kamari," the guard remarked suspiciously.
Their cover was blown, prompting Kamari to activate an alarm to disorient the guards as they made a break for it. "Stowaways on board! Stowaways!" the guard shouted, alerting the others. Dodging a barrage of attacks, Kamari urged Haru to hold off the guards while she took control of the battleship.
Reaching the control panel, Kamari seized the wheel, steering the ship into the air with expert precision. Her first task was to relocate the Palace, using the ship's laser to grab hold of it. However, her aim faltered, and the Palace ended up atop the Tokyo Tower. Laughing nervously, Kamari acknowledged her mistake. "Whoops!"
Meanwhile, Hiyoko's voice echoed through the chaos, urgently calling for Kamari's assistance. "Kamari! KAMARI! My friend can't run the country in these conditions!" Kamari promised to rectify the situation. "Don't worry, Hiyoko-san! Next time, I'll ensure the Palace is exactly where it belongs!" With determination, she retrieved the laser once more, ready to set things right.
Back in the Palace gardens, Ava was luxuriating in a back massage while swarms of paparazzi snapped pictures. Oblivious to Kamari's mishap, the press suddenly scattered for cover as the Palace shifted overhead. Ava glanced up, bewildered, as two figures scrambled for shelter. Unaware of the chaos they caused, Kamari and Haru worked swiftly to correct their mistake, maneuvering the Palace back to its rightful place.
Enraged by the disturbance, Ava erupted in fury. "HOW DARE YOU DISTURB THE ALMOST QUEEN OF THE ENTIRE REAL WORLD!" Kamari, however, found humor in the situation. "Relax, Ava! We just brought the president back home!" Haru chimed in, reinforcing the point. "Yeah, so you're not even the boss of Japan anymore." Ava trembled with anger. "YOU'RE A DAMN LIAR!" Kamari beckoned her with a ladder. "Come on up, Ava. You're coming back to Orchestra town." But Ava, consumed by rage, refused to comply. "I HATE IT! WHEN PEOPLE TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" she bellowed, striking the ground in frustration. "I'LL KILL YOU WHEN I SEE YOU!"
With a sardonic twist, Kamari used the laser to warp Ava to the Band Room, then crashed the doomship into it. Haru, impressed by Kamari's landing skills, commented, "Nice crash landing, Kamari." Kamari chuckled, recognizing the strategic implications. "Yeah, Mrs. Guerzon won't be warping anything out of the real world for a long time."
As Mrs. Guerzon arrived on the scene, witnessing her ruined doomship, Ava seized the opportunity to shift blame. "It's all your fault! You let the Orchestra people capture it. You let them warp me home. You let them save Japan!" Mrs. Guerzon, already seething with anger, exploded, silencing Ava's protests. The ensuing argument between them created a tense atmosphere.
