10~ The Deal

Sean Carson has finished his work for the night and makes his way to the archives room where the Five Elite gather when they meet with Chandler for their staff meetings. He puts a hand to his throat as the memory of nearly getting choked out by Crowley replays in his mind. The elixir he got from him immediately took away any pain and bruising upon drinking it. Albeit, it was absolutely disgusting and nearly made him throw up.

The young teen roams the files and books, trying to go back long before he was born, towards the beginning of the year twenty years ago. He grabs all he can from that year and then places it on the round table where they gather. He sits at his usual spot in between Chandler and Vincent Matthews.

He skims through pages to find anything important pertaining to Crowley. His research leads to him finding information of two babies being outside of The Wall by Official Hale. A set of twins, a boy and a girl. His heart skips a beat as he connects this to what Crowley said before. He mentioned being separated from his sister. The notes stop about these babies, but there is a note that guides him to look through the file of Crowley.

"So, it is him..." Sean gets up and goes to the magic screen and goes to the personal files of the Five Elite. Their information is available to the other members as it is a way to gain knowledge and keep an eye on one another. He goes on Crowley's file to read through all the information on him.

He finds that Crowley was taken to Cypress Orphanage when he was two years old, but there is no information about his whereabouts during the time he was found and the time past his first birthday. Sean sees that before changing his name to Crowley, the orphanage had registered him as Isaiah Cypress. He immediately changed his name upon his eighteenth birthday.

During his schooling before entering Acacia Academy, he was an excellent student with high honors. There are newspaper articles of school sports he participated in as one of the top players in his teams. His sports accolades ended upon his thirteenth birthday when he suffered a head injury during a game upon his final day as a regular student and a few months before entering Acacia Academy as a regular student.

Crowley had immediately become a top student, called a genius of his generation with his excelling skills in magic, science, history, weapons building, etc. Charon Matthews, a former Five Elite member, had recommended him to take his spot upon retiring as an active soldier and taking his place as one of the leaders of Artemia. Due to protests about his age, they waited until Crowley was fifteen to officially instate him as an official Five Elite member.

Sean already knows all that about him. He was always a success destined for greatness, but once he became a member of the Five Elite, he refused to choose a military faction. He has declined all requests or offers to become a high official in Koa Acacia, Flat-Topped Acacia, Flowering Acacia, and Swollen-Thorn Acacia.

"I wonder if he's waiting to come face to face with his sister. Does he know where she is?" Sean looks back again over the files, thinking back to previous meetings and the encounters he's had with Crowley. The information seems to click as he finds a DNA match to Crowley.

"No way..." Sean reads the information over and over again, also comparing it to other notes that start to become prominent with Crowley's identity. Especially after he became one of the Five Elite at about the same age that he did. Sean has only been a member for a few months since his fifteenth birthday after his own predecessor retired due to old age.

Sean groans and drops his weary head to the table. He doesn't know what to think anymore. Any missing information can only be clarified by Crowley. That is the next step the teen plans to take once he processes his thoughts.

Mary sits in her room, leaving her window open as she looks out, waiting for the arrival of Serena Bathory. She sees glowing pink butterflies arrive in front of her window. She gulps and looks at the butterflies, waiting to be let in.

"Come in, Serena Bathory." Mary says coldly. The butterflies enter and start to form Serena's body. She giggles as she looks at Mary. Mary shivers as she is finally looking at someone so dangerous in a child's form.

"Miss Mary Hale, I'm so happy you decided to see things my way." Serena says as she tilts her head slightly and puts her hands together cheerfully. Mary clenches her hands and stands up to look down at the small vampire queen.

"I'll help you, but I also need your help to assure my entrance into the Salix building. I have a bit of difficulties getting in, so I need your help." Mary tells Serena, who nods her head and points to her wrist.

"When the grading comes, that butterfly will land on the person who is grading your test, and they will give you a high score to get you into the Salix building if you're too dumb to do it on your own." Serena tells her. Mary flinches a bit at the insult but nods her head and looks at Serena's golden eyes. She frowns a bit, wondering if she suddenly looked taller than the last time they met.

"Well, I'm going now. Do keep in touch with this." Serena says as she holds out a small paper with a pink butterfly on it. Mary frowns a bit as she takes it. Serena giggles and puts a small finger over Mary's. "With just a drop of blood, you can call me with that. No interferences from your government. They will not hear us at all." Serena tells Mary, who nods her head and puts the paper away into an old book she hasn't read in ages. When she turns back to face Serena, she finds that she has already left her room. Mary lets out a sigh and puts a hand to her heart.

"If the monsters have the advantage, then I can be selfish and think of only myself and not the land of Artemia. It's fine if I'm in a world where it's only Dean and myself. I won't let him slip away from me so easily." Mary thinks to herself as she nods her head. She goes towards her study packet and starts to study for the Salix Branching exams. She takes a deep breath and hopes she can get most of it on her own without relying on Serena's mind control.

"I won't be outdone by you, Diana."

                                                                   ~0~

"Wow, you really don't need much of my help. You really know your stuff, Diana." Lori says as she and Chelsea help her study in her dorm. Diana rubs the back of her head and looks at the study packet in front of her.

"Yeah, I'm kinda surprised, too. Maybe it's because I've been in the lower branches for so long that I've got the gist of things, and the rest of this information is just common sense." Diana says to them as they stare at her in surprise.

"Then I guess we'll be helping Mary instead. She isn't going to find this as easy as you." Chelsea says as she puts a hand to her chin. Lori nods her head in agreement and then stops Diana from taking notes from the packet. She frowns in confusion and looks over at the red head, who has a mischievous look in her green eyes.

"So? Have you and Dean made any progress in dating each other?" Lori questions, and Diana blushes brightly, putting her hands to her cheeks and shaking her head. Chelsea and Lori laugh at the shy blackette and then become serious. Diana stares at the two long-time friends curiously as they sigh heavily.

"I really hope Mary comes to terms with the fact that Dean just isn't meant for her. Diana, you too. . . If you love Dean, then don't let him slip away." Chelsea tells her. Diana looks down, blushing brightly, and then just nods her head. Diana now sighs herself and looks back down at her packet.

"Well, I haven't seen Dean since he went to go find Mary. I feel guilty for bringing a rift in your friendship. I'm really -"

"Don't apologize, Diana." They tell her before she finishes. She looks at them sadly and then lowers her gaze.

Lori and Chelsea put one of their hands on Diana's shoulders and look at the blackette seriously.

"It couldn't be helped. Love just happens, and it doesn't seem to care who it hurts. It sounds rather cruel, but that is what I perceive love as." Chelsea says, and Lori looks at her worriedly. She doesn't comment since she knows her precious friend has never once been in love, at least not openly.

"Love is cruel, huh? Yeah, I probably have that same thought process as you. That's the reason I'm afraid to go further with Dean." Diana says with a sad sigh. The two girls stare at the sad blackette and then sit back down. Diana picks up her pencil again and keeps taking notes.

"Will one of you quiz me tomorrow on the notes I have? If you have the time, that is." Diana says to the two girls who look over her note-taking.

"I can test you, but are you sure? It's pretty early to want to be quizzed already. You have two months to study after all since this is one of the most difficult levels for the Vachellia Nilotica section." Lori tells her. Diana smiles a bit and looks over at her.

"I've worked a study regimen, actually. I'm about done with the first chapter, so I want to quiz myself in every chapter until I understand it well enough. These notes I'll study all near the end and take a larger quiz on all the chapters and see how much I memorized and learned." Diana tells the two friends who look at her a bit surprised. They look at the clock and realize just how much they've spent studying with Diana.

"Oh wow, it's pretty late! I need to get going home! I'll see you two tomorrow!" Chelsea says as she grabs her bag and rushes to the door. Diana and Lori say their farewells to her.

"Dean?" Chelsea sees him as she closes the door and heads out.

"Chelsea?" Both young adults pause at the stairs as they see each other.

"You're late Dean, it's time to go home, and Diana is just about done studying the first chapter." Chelsea says, crossing her arms over her chest. Dean rubs the back of his head and then looks up at his friend's hazel eyes.

"Sorry, I was wandering around. My talk with Mary didn't go all that well and I feel really bad." Dean says. Chelsea grabs his arm and starts to pull him down the stairs, away from the girls' dormitory of Vachellia Nilotica.

"Well, you can tell me all about it as you walk me home." Chelsea orders him. He nods his head, and they walk out of the school entrance towards the direction of their homes, which are only three blocks apart.

"I really hurt her, huh?" Dean questions Chelsea as they walk through the lonely streets of Artemia. Most people turn in by eleven since most monster activity starts when the sun goes down, but that doesn't mean that there isn't sun dwelling monsters.

"Yes, Dean. You hurt Mary, but she's also at fault for keeping quiet when we all know how dense you are." Chelsea says rather bluntly. Dean winces as she accurately describes him. Chelsea shakes her head at him and looks up ahead.

"Ah! Dean, someone is hurt!" Chelsea says as they see a woman unconscious in the middle of the sidewalk. The two of them rush over to the unfamiliar woman and look her over for injuries.

"Bite marks. . . this woman was attacked by a vampire, but she's not dead yet. We need to get her to a hospital!" Dean says as he sees a bite mark under the collar of her turtle neck top. Chelsea nods in agreement and helps Dean pick up the woman, and they rush to the nearest hospital.

"Help! This woman was attacked by a vampire, and she's barely alive!" Chelsea yells out. The receptionist quickly calls for doctors with a stretcher, and they take the older woman away. The two stay in the waiting room since they know that the authorities will be called in, and they'll be questioned on what had occurred.

"What could have happened? And what was that woman doing out there all alone?" Chelsea questions Dean as they sit down to keep out of the way. Dean just shrugs and looks ahead, his brow furrowed in worry and frustration. He rests his chin on his intertwined fingers, tapping his foot. Chelsea looks at him worriedly and looks to the entrance as two officers with badges of Flat-topped Acacia walk to the receptionist. The two young adults rise as the receptionist points to them, and the officers walk over to them.

"I'm Officer Pancheri, and this is Officer Stevens. We'd like to question you two on the woman that was brought in here. Could we see some ID, please?" The woman officer says to Dean and Chelsea, who nod their heads. Officer Stevens, the male officer, takes out a recorder to take in their witness report.

Chelsea and Dean pull out their student IDs to show the two officers. Officer Pancheri makes note of their information.

"Well, we don't know what happened. We were walking back from Acacia Academy to our houses after helping our friend study. We just saw that woman lying in the middle of the sidewalk, and we looked her over until we saw those puncture wounds on her neck. We carried her all the way here and then waited for you to show up." Chelsea explains since she knows that when Dean is tense, he doesn't cooperate well and doesn't know how to phrase things well.

"Damn." Chelsea jumps as she sees Officer Pancheri's eyes flash a bright yellow. That's when she realizes that she's a wolf shifter. She relaxes and looks at Officer Pancheri apologetically.

"Sorry we couldn't be much help, Officer." Chelsea says to the two officers. She looks over at Dean, who is looking around at other people in the waiting room. She too looks around and notices that all the humans are giving Officer Pancheri a dirty glare. Chelsea frowns a bit at the sight of those humans but also understands their wary nature towards the monsters.

"What are you all looking at?! She's an officer of the law who is doing her job despite the way you all look at her!" Dean finally yells out, startling Chelsea and the officers who look at him surprise. Even the people who were staring either jumped or quickly looked away. Officer Pancheri manages a small smile and puts her hand to his shoulder.

"It's alright, son. There's no need to defend me. I understand perfectly well why they are wary of me. I just want everyone to know that the few wolf shifters who have turned their backs on humanity don't represent all of us!" She tells everyone who isn't sure of what to do after they were all being called out like that.

"Dean." Chelsea insists to the fuming blond with a concerned and scolding tone. He takes a deep breath and tries to relax before looking back at the officers. He nods and looks at Chelsea, who approves of him calming down. They look out to see a doctor walk out and motion for the officers to follow her. Officer Pancheri tips her hat to the two young adults and walks off, but Officer Stevens stays in place. Dean and Chelsea look at him a bit confused.

"That was admirable. I wish I had the courage you did to stand up for my partner. Goodnight, get home safely." He says to them before going after Officer Pancheri. Dean and Chelsea stare at the officers, a bit surprised. Chelsea then smiles a bit.

"Yeah, he's right. Not a lot of people are as vocal as you about standing up for the innocent. That's just so like you, Dean. Anyway, I guess we are done here. Walk me home?" Chelsea speaks to Dean as he focuses on the officers talking seriously with the doctor. He watches Officer Stevens move his hand unconsciously to his handcuffs. Officer Pancheri speaks to her radio.

"I wonder what they found out about the woman we brought in. I don't think I've ever seen her before, especially around our neighborhood." Dean says to Chelsea after a moment of silence. Chelsea shrugs, but a part of her is also curious about what that mysterious woman was doing out there at such a late hour. They walk out of the building and start to head towards Chelsea's home.

"Well, it's not our business. We're just students, after all." Chelsea tells him as they stop at her front door. The two friends say their farewells, and Dean leaves once he's sure that Chelsea is safe and sound in her house. He sighs and walks back towards the sidewalk and heads towards his family's manor.

Dean walks down the long path up to his house. He has to hold up a glow stone to light up posts hidden in the trees that lead up to his family manor. He stares up at the huge building that suddenly seems so lonely. He frowns a bit as he looks back down at the path he is walking on instead.

"This is getting so messed up, so fast... there has to be something I can do with what I do know now. This last name must be of some use to me somehow. I have to help the innocent humans and monsters being thrown into this." Dean clenches the stone, which makes the lights brighter as he loses focus on his magic. He squints and relaxes his hold to ease up the flow of his magic.

He reaches his front door, and he stares up at the red door, his hand searching his pockets.

"I'm home." Dean says quietly as he unlocks the front door and puts his backpack down beside the door. He frowns in confusion as he sees the door to his father's study slightly ajar from across the room, and he manages to hear his voice coming out. He sounds very displeased. Dean clutches his keys and walks over to the study, hiding in the shadows to keep from getting caught.

"What?! But how on earth did a goblin bride get past the guarded entrances of The Wall so close to Flat-Topped Acacia prison?!" Chandler questions angrily as he looks at a small holographic image of Officer Stevens.

"She won't talk, sir. She was brought in by two of your students, and we questioned them as well, but they didn't see what happened to her either. All we know is that she was attacked by a vampire. What should we do?" He questions Chandler as he runs his fingers through his dark hair. Dean's mismatching eyes widen in shock as he remembers the woman they brought in.

"We will have to interrogate her more thoroughly then. If she won't talk willingly, we'll force her to talk. I'm coming over. Is the woman still being held in the hospital?" Chandler questions Officer Stevens, who nods his head. They break off communication, and Chandler walks over towards a closet in his study and changes into a suit and tie before heading out, locking his study.

Chandler pauses at the front door as he sees that the door is slightly open. He looks to the side and sees Dean's backpack. He frowns as he realizes that he was eavesdropping on the conversation. He grabs his phone and makes a call to Flat-Topped Acacia to bring extra officers with him.

                                                                      ~0~

"Hmm?" Diana lifts her head from her desk as her phone goes off. She rubs her eyes and sees that it's two in the morning and Dean is calling her. She frowns in confusion and looks back at Lori, who had fallen asleep on her bed. She steps out of her room and puts the phone to her ear.

"Dean, do you kno-"

"I know it's late, but I need your help and Lori's! I'll explain on the way, just come to the Same Star Hospital! It's an emergency!"

"Dean?! Dean!" Diana yells into her phone as the call disconnects. She looks back and sees Lori stepping out of her room, rubbing her own sleepy eyes, but she has a few weapons with her.

"Lori?!" Diana yells out, wondering where she even hid those weapons from her.

"It's pretty late, so it must be an emergency if you received a call at this hour from Dean. Where to?" Lori questions Diana, she is ready to fight for her friend. She doesn't need any explanation or detail. Diana nods her head, puts her phone away, and rushes out with her on foot.

"Same Star Hospital, don't know what for, though!" Diana says as they run out of the academy towards the hospital. Lori finally starts to wake up fully as they continue to run. They see Dean at the front entrance and rush to his side.

"What's the situation?" Lori questions, saluting Dean. Diana also stares at him, very confused by his behavior and his urgency to have them come to the hospital.

"My father is coming to this hospital to take away a goblin bride and interrogate her by force for who knows what. They want information on her and probably her goblin partner, and I won't let that happen to a fellow human being. We may be at war, but that woman is still someone's wife. There will be revenge from the goblins if we don't save that woman." Dean tells his friends. Lori's eyes widen, and she's about to protest, but Diana speaks up first.

"Okay! Who is the woman we have to save?" Lori looks at Diana surprised as well but sighs in the end and nods her head. Dean smiles at them and leads them away to the back entrance of the hospital.

Diana and Lori are surprised to see a male nurse sitting outside. They pause, but Dean continues to motion them forward. "It's fine, I used some sleep powder to knock him out. He'll be up in an hour or so."

"Wow, so skilled!" Lori says impressed. Diana frowns in concern and looks at Lori. She wonders sometimes what catches her attention and what she completely overlooks sometimes. It also feels so like Lori.

Dean pulls out the stolen key card from his pocket and slides it in. He keeps his friends out of sight until he watches the security camera move to face the direction opposite of them and quickly motions them to move and hide under the camera's blind spot before it moves again.

"Do you know the woman's room number?" Lori questions him. He nods his head and motions them to move again.

"Yeah, since there was a new person at the front desk, I was able to make up a name for the mystery woman and pretend to be her younger brother, and they told me her room number. I just couldn't see her since she was being guarded by two officers." They follow his lead and enter a laundry room.

"Okay, we can hide in here and either put on nurse gear or patient gear so we can walk around freely. The woman we are searching for is in room one hundred and twenty. She's being guarded by a wolf shifter officer, so I need one of you two to enter and get the woman out. She already has my scent, so I can't go in. Lori, you'll serve as a distraction to the officer. Got it?" Dean questions the girls. They nod their heads in agreement, and Dean turns away so they can change into clean, nurse outfits.

"What will you do?" Diana questions, Dean. He smiles and points to the door.

"I'm heading back out and help you get her out through the back exit. I'm sure the windows there are set up with alarms just in case she does try to escape on her own." Dean tells them.

"How do you even know your way around a hospital like this?" Diana questions him.

"Well, I was being trained as a government official. I took field trips to federal buildings with my aunt and remembered the layouts just in case." Dean explains to her quickly. The group nods before they head out to do their assigned duty.

"Oh, a clipboard, this could be useful." Lori grabs a random clipboard, putting up her face mask as she walks on with Diana. Diana braids her hair and hopes it holds for a while to make her less recognizable. She also has a face mask in order to hide her identity.

"Yeah, I could pretend that I'll be going in to take notes on the patient. Good thinking, Lori." Diana takes the clipboard from her. Lori winks and gives her a thumbs up as they reach the patient hallway. From a distance, they see the chestnut haired officer standing guard at the door. She looks ahead of herself, looking very intimidating. Her wolf-like presence helps amplify her intimidation.

"I'm going to pretend there is trouble that requires her assistance. So, wait for me to get her away from here before you sneak out the lady." Lori tells Diana her plan to distract Officer Pancheri.

"Be careful... you can get away, right?" Diana expresses her concern as she starts to realize how serious this is. They are becoming criminals with all the illegal things they have done on this night. Diana has never been in trouble with the law, that is, until she met Captain Brown. Now she knows that someone in a high place has it out for her, and any little thing will get her in trouble.

"I got this! Don't forget, I'm pretty awesome as a GCW student. I'm one of the top ten students in my class!" Lori assures Diana. Diana finds herself reassured by Lori's one-track mind. How fearless she goes into these things sometimes.

"Okay, I'm gonna make my move then." Diana calms her nerves as she makes her way over to the officer.

"Hello, officer. I'm here to see the patient in here and get in some information about her health." Diana says to Officer Pancheri, who greets her with a nod and opens the door to let her in. Diana smiles at the success and lets the door close behind her before she sees the empty bed. She gasps and narrowly avoids being struck over the head and twists the woman's arm behind her back. She catches the water pitcher before it hits the ground with her other hand.

"Easy, I'm here to help you escape. I need you to trust me." Diana tells the struggling woman who calms down and looks back at Diana with cautious eyes.

"Why would you help me?" She questions softly. Diana lets her go so the blonde haired woman can look at her properly. Diana notices her bruised wrist. She had slipped out of her handcuff, and the rest was left attached to the bed.

"Because my friend wants to. You're our fellow human, after all. Even if you're a monster's bride." Diana says with a small smile.

"My husband isn't a monster. He doesn't want to hurt the humans, but he can't be a pushover either. My husband and I will survive and continue to live the rest of our lives together. Outside of this forsaken place." The woman says. Diana looks to the door as she hears Lori making her move. Diana silences the woman and presses her ear against the door.

"Okay, I hear their distancing footsteps, lets go before the officer realizes what has happened." Diana says as she carefully opens the door and motions the woman out. She looks out for cameras and security guards before spotting Dean, who is ready to help them out.

"Ah, that's the young man who rescued me. Looks like I owe him a huge favor." The woman says as she follows Diana, holding on to her hand, keeping her dizziness at bay after the heavy blood loss she suffered. She was getting blood into her, but she stopped that when she freed herself from the handcuff and attempted her solo escape.

"Now we have to hope that Lori makes it out okay. Diana, take her back to the dorms, and I'll wait for Lori." Dean tells Diana, who nods her head. She takes off the nurse outfit and is back in her nightgown, and Dean hands his indigo blazer to the woman.

"Wear this to keep you warm. You lost a lot of blood, so I'm sorry we dragged you out while you're not well. For your safety, I had to get you out. Now go!" Dean insists with the two women. The woman puts on the blazer and feels a bit better from the warmth Dean left behind on it.

"Okay, run!" Dean tells them. Diana grabs the woman's hand again and pulls her out of the clinic with Dean behind them, all the way to the back exit. Diana waves at him and heads off with the woman in the shadows of the darkness.

"Alright, we're at a safe enough distance to start walking, but we should keep to the shadows." Diana says quietly to the woman as they walk behind trees and bushes near the sidewalk. Diana slows down for her sake as she starts to look unwell.

"Diana, was it?" The woman questions the blackette who looks back at her and nods her head. "I'm Hannah. My husband was a janitor in Acacia Academy before he was unjustly fired for being a goblin." Hannah tells Diana as she looks back over at the sad woman.

"So even Acacia Academy is getting rid of the monsters who have no part in this war and are sending them away." Diana says with coldness in her voice. As the time of war becomes close, she realizes just how dark and secretive the academy where heroes are born really is.

"We were separated a week ago as he was taken in by Flat-Topped Acacia officers. I was looking for help, and I fell into the trap of a vampire who just wanted to drink my blood. They said they would help me see my husband, but I see now that was my mistake. They said they had a close position to Serena Bathory. That she could help get him out." Hannah tells Diana as they head towards the entrance of the academy.

"Flat-Topped Acacia. . . Serena Bathory..." Diana frowns at the memory of Captain Brown and at the mention of one of the Three Genee. Diana reaches her dorm room and lets Hannah in before she goes in after her.

"Hannah, don't get your hopes up, but I think I know someone who may be able to get me information on your husband. Just tell me what he looks like." Diana tells Hannah, who had sat down on Diana's bed.

"My husband is a half goblin and half human man like the majority of the goblins. He looks like your average man of seven feet tall, except he has light blue skin and dark hair that sparkles in the darkness. We also have the same mark on our chests of a golden open heart with our names written in the goblin language around it." She tells Diana, who takes note of her husband's appearance.

"His name is Roard." She finishes telling her. Diana nods her head and tucks away the note in her phone case.

"I will get on this as soon as my friends return. I hope they haven't been caught." Diana says softly as she keeps her phone close, waiting for a call or text. "Oh, and feel free to make yourself comfortable. If you need to rest, please do so."

Hannah nods her head and lies down on Diana's bed. The blackette walks to the window and looks out into the darkness that is only brightened up a bit thanks to the street lamps.

"Dean. . . Lori. . . Please come back safe and sound."

                                                            ~0~

"Officer! Officer, please help! I can't find anyone to help me settle a patient's family member! I'm only a nursing assistant, please!" Lori rushes over to Officer Pancheri a few minutes after Diana gets inside the room.

"I'm sorry, I can't leave the-"

"She's unconscious, right?! Please! They could really hurt themselves!" Lori holds her hand as she continues to act desperate. Officer Pancheri grunts in frustration and radios her partner, Officer Stevens, to speed up his break and rush back to take her place as she goes to help Lori.

Lori takes the officer to a room that is closed with a ruckus going on inside. Things sound like they are being flung around. Officer Pancheri puts Lori behind her and prepares to enter.

"Stay back, I'll calm them down, and then you'll have to do the rest to sedate them if I can't." Lori nods and makes a sound of approval as she steps back. She opens the door and rushes to get in. Lori doesn't wait and bolts to the back exit to escape.

"What the?!" Officer Pancheri looks around to see that the ruckus was coming from the holo-vision at full volume in the room. It is a scene of a looping video of someone trashing a room. She begins to realize just what is going on and rushes back out. There is no sign of Lori.

"Shit!" Officer Pancheri reports what happened and runs back to the goblin bride's room to check if she's still there. She sees Officer Stevens looking around and also using his radio to report that she is gone.

"I did it! I managed to escape her!" Lori says proudly and out of breath as she finds Dean near the hallway that leads to the back exit. He smiles and nods his head at her as he leads her back out.

"Diana managed to get the woman out. Let's get out of here before the Flat-Topped Acacia officers get here." Dean tells her. Lori nods her head and follows him out of the place as quickly and carefully as possible.

"Dean, why did you want to help this woman?" Lori questions him. Dean looks ahead with all seriousness as they jog away from the hospital.

"I believe that all monsters that remain in Artemia are fellow citizens who do not want to fight against us. All monsters in these walls are our friends and allies." Dean says to her. Lori looks at him surprised and then smiles at his words.

"Uh oh!" Lori grabs Dean's arm to stop him as they see Officer Pancheri in her wolf form and in front of their only safe spot in the shadows of a busy intersection. The duo gulps and stands up straight. Officer Pancheri looks at them a moment longer before turning a blind eye on them as she changes back and grabs her radio.

"There's nobody in the back. Looks like they got away, Stevens." She says to them. Lori and Dean see what she is getting at and nod their heads in gratitude before running away. She watches them go and smiles a bit. "Well, at least someone still has faith in our innocence."
