'Vhen wii Kana-nee come hom? We miss Kana-nee– Aruru, Hollo'

Kana chuckles as she reads the youngest's attempts at writing to her.

'Kana-nee doesn't need to worry about us! I will protect everyone while Kana-nee and Yuno-nii get stronger and become the strongest Magic Knights.... Even Asta too if he wants, —Nash'

'It's Rekka, Kana-nee. Don't worry about us. Sister Lily said that everyone has been sending money and helping us get delicious food and new clothes. Thank you so much! But Kana-nee needs to take care of Kana-nee's health. Just keep on smiling and have a great journey! Just come home whenever you can! Miss you so much! –Rekka'

A single tear falls from her eye but a smile never leaves her as she keeps reading Sister Lily's letter that just arrived alongside Father's, Asta's and Yuno's.

As usual, Asta wrote about his meeting with a weird guy with round eyebrows name Licht from Midnight Sun who used Light magic along with the Third Eye, the strongest three on the team. Also, about the fact that they found out that the betrayer among the Magic Knight was the captain of Purple Orca.

"Asta sure had interesting adventures there," Kana mutters. She goes and opens Yuno's but it seems he has sent something for her. A brown box tied to the letter. "Wonder what it is." A look of disbelief flashes over her eyes. "This idiot!" Inside the box contains, a necklace made of a gold chain and a blue stone, which has a gold-coloured cross and four-pointed stars at each corner. The most treasured piece that was left for him when he first arrived at the church.

"What the hell was he thinking?!" Kana was dumbfounded by his act and opened the letter.

'Kana-chan,

             I'm glad to receive your letter and glad that your training has been going well.

            I assume that you already open my gift and are very mad about what I presented to you. But don't worry. Just keep it safe and return it to me when you return. I miss you a lot. My day has been going on like usual with training and going on missions.

           I have been getting stronger so that I can protect you, not that you can protect yourself but I want to be the one who will put your heart at ease and when the time comes, you will finally accept me. I don't have much to offer you but I will do my best to be someone better for you.

           Keep the necklace near your heart and just know that where you have been all along for me.

Muku who decided that it have enough playtime for the day, approach the girl but stops and tilt his head when he watches the girl covering her face against her knees. "Kuu~" It pushes around her head asking if there is something wrong.

Kana raises her head, revealing her beef-red face with teary eyes. "That moron." Her hand gripping the necklace tightly but not too hard that it might break it. "What's with him this day."

Mereleona who had been watching from a distance with a bottle of sake in front of her, smirked. "Wonder which boy it is—"

A loud blast can be heard as it caused the ground to jolt and larva spills everywhere.

Mereleona smiles menacingly, 'This kid has grown stronger in a very monstrously short time, scary brat.'

From the opposite side, the smoke is starting to disappear, revealing Kana standing still without any scratch with both arms covered by dark glistering scales and her grimoire floating at her side.

"Show me how strong you are now!"

Kana narrow her eyes and took a stand, calling out. "Honō Mahō: Shi no komori-uta! (Fire Magic: Death Lullaby!)"

BLAST

"Here." Mereleona pass the girl a cup of water which she gladly took.

Kana's head is thrown back as she gulps down the water to ease her thirst. "It still not enough." She huffs, dissatisfied with her previous spell.

The older lioness chuckles, shaking her head. "It takes time and practice. You should be proud that your progress is much quicker than most."

Kana doesn't seem to be hearing Mereleona's words as she grumbles under her breath and took another swing as if she drinking sake.

Mereleona sighs. "Letter from Leo arrived earlier."

"Leopold-san?" This gains the girl's attention. "Is it about the captain's condition?"

Nodding her head, she states. "Leo said that Fuego have to recover nicely but he still wasn't awake from his coma. The attack did lots on him."

The young flame user frown and the memory of the day flash into her mind. "If only I was strong enough."

Mereleona snorts, "Relax, brat. My brother was the weak one. He's a captain, it's his job to protect his underlings and he failed."

"But Captain—"

"Enough!" The oldest Vermillion slam her sake cup, shattering it into pieces. "He failed, that's that. He's 100 times stronger than you, no— much more, yet he failed. You aren't just at fault, the attacker too. Stop shouldering the blame, it wasn't you, they want in the first place, this was bound to occur either you included or not."

Her words seep into Kana's mind, she doesn't know why but those speech helps ease the burden that she has been carrying for so long.

"Kana—" A hand pats her head and Mereleona gently ruffle the redhead. "You help to save him that day. I heard from Mimosa about what you did. You did it, you help my brother and we are forever grateful for that."

Kana watches the oldest lioness in awe, tears brimming her eyes. "I—I—"

Mereleona pull her into a hug, and her chin sat on top of the girl. "You did great, brat. Don't let others say otherwise."

Kana's grips tighten around the woman's clothes and sobs escape her throat. Tears fell from her eyes as she finally let out the feeling she had been holding onto. 

A/N: Two chapters in one day, I'm on fire! Nah, just some update for you guys before I have to take another break for my finals. 

I just want some moments for Kana instead of diving into the new seasons. I don't want her to suddenly appear in Asta's adventure since this will be Kana's story. Hehe.
