"I assume you got everyone to safety." Kana smiles at his scaly companion, who answers by snuggling his cheek over hers, feeling happy to be back by her side. "Yeah, yeah, I miss you too."

"Ku~"

"K-kana-chan!" Noelle beckons, catching both of their attentions.

The red hair gape at the worried expression on the royal-born and follow her line of vision.

Slowly, a portal starting to grow under Asta's feet.

"Asta, look out!" Noelle alerts in sync for Kana to shouts. "Muku! Aims for the corpse-looking guy!"

Just as Valtos about to unleash his attack, two shoots of flames flies directly towards him, making him lost his concentration and quickly dodged the attacks.

Kana recognize the second flame and glance over her senior who pants with his eyes shadowed by his hair. "Leo-san—" She mutters.

"Ku~" Muku's eyes sadden as he nudges Fuegoleon's body. He remembers the man who always pats his head, scratches his chin and can emit a terrifying aura, but his warmness also makes the beast comfortable. "Ku?"

"Captain not feeling well, Muku." Kana smile sadly while Noelle's eyes waters at the interactions. "He needs rest. Can you help him?"

Tilting his head then glances back at the bleeding man, he laid his chin on the man's back, and his body starts glowing with a light blue aura surrounding him.

The aura slowly spreading through Fuegoleon, making his body glows along.

"Wha—"

"It's some kind of healing spell or aura in his part," Kana explains. "I also just find this out last month, so I—"

"Pathetic."

A new voice echoed around them, making everyone froze in place.

"We received orders from Master to come here, and look at you—"

'How many are they?!' The red-haired girl thought in worry, glancing around, hoping to find the sources.

"You're struggling against this lot. How pathetic."

Suddenly, thick mist appears and creating a big circle that traps them inside, then it slowly disperses, revealing five cloaked figures.

Kana sweats as her eyes fall on the figure that appears beside her. She quickly moves protectively in front of her motionless captain. "Don't you dare come closer!"

The enemy in front of her merely chuckles darkly.

"No one asked for your help!" Rades sneers.

"Aw, you should be thanking us." A child-like voice sang. "If we hadn't arrived, you definitely would've captured and dissected alive." The voice chuckles. "And if you're gonna be dissected, I want to be the one to do it."

"Shut up! Anyway, it looks like the tables have turned!"

'What kind of sick bastards are they?!' Kana glances worriedly at the others before falling on her captain. 'None of us have any more mana to fight, wh—'

The sounds of Asta chuckles make her look at him, which morph into shocks as he suddenly uses his swords on himself.

"Asta!" Noelle exclaims in shocks while the other girl still gaping in shock.

"Now I can keep fighting! Please watch me fighting, sir." Asta glances at the Captain of Crimson Lion, and in his direct peripheral, he catches the sight of Kana's furious looks that said 'I want to hit him, but he did the right thing......but still—' making him sweats in worry. 'She will totally kill me after this.

"All I've ever faced since I was born..... was adversity. No matter how many come at me, no matter what happens, I'll blast them all away!" Asta declares. "All right! Come at me!"

On cue, all five of the clocked figures blasts their spells directly at Asta.

Kana quickly took hold of Noelle's head and Muku, pressing them down to avoid the attacks. 'There's just too many of them!'

Asta spun, creating a vortex that dispels the attacks, but the enemies keep on shooting at him.

He gasped heavily when the opponents stood stunned by his actions. "Keep *pant a cool head *pant, right? I will stay calm—while I kick their butts!"

"Honō Mahō "Bakuran Homura! (Fire Magic: Wild Bursting Flame!)" Leopold calls out his spell and thrusts his hand downwards; a burst of flames manifest on the ground, and multiple fireballs launch towards the enemies catching them off guards.

"You think I'm going to let you people throw your weight around after what you did to my brother?!" Leopold attacks the nearest enemy with a fireball on his hand. "Let me join you, my rival!"

"Sure! Go right ahead!"

As the red-haired watches the duo successfully attacking the cloaked enemies, a look of determination took over her, and she glances at Noelle, who also has a warm smile. "Let's focus on Fuegoeleon-san. Hold on to Muku if you need to replenish your mana."

"Ku~" The white dragon looks at the royal-born as if allowing her to borrow his power.

Noelle nods, understanding and keep her hold of the bleeding wounds.

"They aren't our target."

Their heard one of the clocked figure states.

Kana and Noelle, in sync, took a defensive stance as they got closer to Fuegoleon.

"But we'll kill them now!" Thus, the enemies unleash their attacks simultaneously.

But before the attacks can hit Asta and Leopold, a barrier made of water appear, and the spells burst upon hitting the obstacle.

"Don't think that you can kill my friends so easily!" Noelle shouts, a wand on her hand.

Kana smirks proudly. "Good thinking!"

"Thank you!" The silver-haired girl smiles, feeling glad that she could help.

"Judging from your appearance, you must be a member of the royal Silva family—" One of the cloaked figures spoke. "In that case, I will use my grimoire against you. I wouldn't want to be rude." Just as he says, his grimoire flips open in front of him and glows as he calls out a spell. "Jumoku Sōsei Mahō: Inma no Ne! (Tree Creation Magic: Magic Draining Roots!)."

The ground cracks open, and roots appear from under the ground near the barrier. The roots grow at such speed that they immediately surround the water barrier and slowly absorbing it.

"Asta!" Noelle worriedly shouts.

"I know!"

Kana bit her lower lip, frown deepen every second. The spore from her lotus have increased, and the colour on the lotus has become brighten, which cause by her mana slowly growing because of Muku's helps, but she still can't move away from her captain as his wounds still in a critical state.

The scaly beast is baring his teeth at the enemies with his eyes darting on every move they made, preparing himself if his humans need him.

"No, they swallow my torrent." The royal born breaths in disbelief.

As the roots entirely dispel the barrier, Asta and Leopold jump to attacks the tree magic summoner.

Kaze Sōsei Mahō: Sentsū Tatsumaki Bari! (Wind Creation Magic: Piercing Tornado Needle!)

Unfortunately, before they can land any hits, needle-shaped spears pierce through them in a blink.

"Asta! Leo!" Kana shouts, pupils, trembling as she watches the two of them face-plant onto the ground. 'Those attack was too fast!'

Both girls froze in place as they watch the wind magic user preparing another attack with his tornado needles swirling around him.

"N-no way—" The silver-haired girl stutter while Kana pales at the scene.

Just as the wind user unleashes the attack—

"No!"

Kana flips open her grimoire and call out. "Honō Mahō: Bāsu— (Fire Magic: Burs—)"

Before she can finish her spell, something falls from the sky, blocking the needles from hitting the falling duo.

The thing burst open, revealing the other magic knights that previously disappear.

"Don't tell them this, Muku—" Kana sigh in relief, focusing back on her captain. "But I'm actually happy this time to see those snobby born. Their timing was impeccable."

"Ku!" Muku wrap his tail over her hand in agreement.

A/N: I know that Kana didn't do much in this chapter but at least we have out scaly companion back!!!

I also been receiving so much positive comments this past few week that I'm so happy to be receiving so many supports from you guys.

I know that I'm not a fast updater, nor am I a good writer. But you guys are honestly too kind and I'm thanking all of you so much from the bottom of my heart.

I also apologize if this story wasn't in the pace of your liking but I just don't like missing too much details.
