Kana's eyes never leave her opponent as she watches his grimoire flips searching for the requested spell. "Main." She calls the younger girl in a low tone who visibly flinch and look over the older girl. "Listen to me. I want you to run-"

"But-" Main's eyes widen at her words.

"Don't be stupid! In my signal, take Muku with you and run. Run as fast as you can and don't ever think of turning around." She quickly states as she can feel her heart speeding up.

"What about you?" The dark-haired girl's eyes water.

"Don't worry about me. I can take care of myself." She smiles widen to reassure the girl. 'This is the only way.' She thought as her eyes narrow.

"Hagane Mahō: Jigoku no bāsuto!(Steel Magic: Hellish Burst!)"

"Main! Now!" Kana shout as her grimoire flips open. 'Please let this be enough.' "Honō Sōsei Mahō: Yakedo Baria! (Fire Creation Magic: Scald Barrier!)"

Main gritted her teeth with tears brimming her eyes. With her hands holding tight onto Muku, she quickly took off. She can feel the ground shook but she couldn't see what the cause of it. She can only assume that it was caused by the hunter's spell.

"Where do you think you're going?!" The man's eyes widen in anger. Drills shoot out of the ground and spinning so fast making it split open. One of them fly directly toward Main making her pale in fear but a burst of liquid-like flame burst out stopping the drill from reaching her.

"Don't worry Main! Keep running!" Kana shout with her hands rises as if she's controlling the flames.

The younger girl glances back and with a look of determination, she nods and took a sprint into the forest, away from the battle. The wall of flames keeps on following her as the barrier between her and the drills.

Feeling a bit distracted, Main didn't notice that her arms becoming loose from holding Muku who immediately took the opportunity to slip away and run toward the red-haired girl.

Both girls were astonished by his action but Muku didn't seem to want to leave the older girl and took a stand beside her.

Muku opens his mouth and starts shooting blue flames toward the hunter making him became distracted.

"Kuu!" It let out a cry with its eyes narrow over the man that tried to hurt his friend.

"Muku!" Main about to run back to save her beastie friend but stop as she watches Kana raise her hand.

"Go on! I will watch over Muku!"

Glancing back toward the young dragon who smiles at her then back at the opponent and let out a loud screech that shook the ground. The tree sway and the wildlings scamper away after hearing the deafening sounds made by the beast.

Taking the opportunity of the hunter being distracted as he clenches his eyes and ears shut, Main quickly runs into the forest and disappears out of sight.

Kana slowly open one of her eyes from covering herself but the deafening screeches. "You little-" She smirk. "What a pain you are, better not be in my way."

Muku let out the sound of understanding and took a stance by her side.

"You stupid beast!" He snarls, his eyes craze in maddening every second. "Forget about those fucking nobles! I will skin you myself!"

Kana's grimoire flies in front of her as it shone over a spell. "Over my dead body!"

"My pleasure!" He declares with his grimoire also shone in front of him.

She could feel her legs screaming for her to stop but she keeps on pushing herself thinking that she needs to reach the village and asks for help before it too late.

'I need to get to the village sooner. Magic Knight nee-sama risks her life to save me and Muku. And now I need to help them before it's too late.' She wipes the tears off her face in a frantic manner only to fall hard making her bum throb in pain. She opens her eyes in fear. 'No way. There's ano-'

"There you are!" Leopold exclaims loudly and kneels in front of her.

Main's eyes widen at the sight of the other member of Crimson Lion who flashes her a grin making her breath out in relief but her heart keeps on pounding from fear of having another hunter lurking around.

"Your mother-" He was cut off by the younger girl frantically cling over his arm with her eyes widen in fear.

"Y-you need to h-hurry! Nee-sama and Muku are in danger! Y-y-you need to help them! Please!" She stutters and points over the direction from where she comes from.

The smile on his face instantly disappears and he glances over where she's pointed over then back to her. "Go back to the village. Your mother is worry about you."

"But nee-sama!"

"Don't worry." He flashes her a smile. "She will be fine. I will go and help her. I also need you to promise me that you will go back to the village. Can you do that?"

Main vigorously wipe her tears and nods. "I promise. Magic Knight onii-sama, please, save Muku and nee-sama."

"Promise." He points his pinky finger which she beams and crosses her fingers' with his.

Leopold watches Main run toward the village until her silhouette finally disappears out of his sight. He quickly turns over the direction where she pointed out. 'Please let me make it there in time.' He chants as he grits his teeth. 'What kind of senior will I be if I let my cute junior die on her first mission?!'

A pool of blood circling Kana's body as she lay motionless. The only sign that she's still alive will be by her chest slowly moving to show that she's still breathing. Muku also has fallen out of its feet as it laid beside her, body full of cuts and bruises. Hundreds of spears that stuck on the ground disappear into thin air as the hunter smirk in victorious.

"I suggest that you stay down girl. If you still want to live that is?" He taunts only to whistle mockingly as he leans forward watching Kana slowly prompt herself up.

She was beaten up and there no mana left in her. But she staggers as she stood up only to fall back on her knees. Ragged breaths escape her throat but with her hands clenched so tight that veins forming on top of them, she pushes herself up and drags her legs so that she's been standing protectively in front of Muku.

The little dragon let out a cry as if telling her to move away as it also slowly stop on its legs.

"Is that your way of telling me that you want to die?" The hunter cackle. "Fine then, your wish is my command!" As he madly shouts, another wave of spears floating around him and fly toward the red-haired girl so fast that her eyes couldn't see it.

'I can't die.' She clenches her eyes shuts. 'Everyone-' The images of the children back at the church along with Father and Sister Lily flash over her mind. 'Asta' The image of the ash blond-haired boy grinning make a smile appear on her face and disappear which left with the black-haired boy with his piercing amber-colored eyes, 'Yuno'. 'Please, anyone, lend me your strength!'

Leopold stops as cold-sweat falling off his forehead. Just seconds ago he can feel Kana's mana even by what left of it. But now a stronger burst of mana have to mask over hers making him pale. He can no longer sense the girl's making him run even faster. "Kana!!"

He shouts as he burst into the battlefield only for the look of confusion wash over him.

Right in the middle of the field, stood Kana with menacing dark mana floating out of her body. He gapes as he watches spears perch over the other side of the battlefield where two unconscious body remains motionless out of three.

Accept for one of them to have spear stuck out his leg and shoulder with blood spatting out his mouth. But it wasn't that catch his attention, but rather the look of horror fill his eyes which glued on the red-haired girl who remains frozen from where she stood.

Leopold can see that he was trying to say something but only to later fall unconscious probably from the pain and the loss of blood he assume. He then glances back toward the girl and walks over her to check her out. As he about to reach her, Kana starts wobbling and falls forward which lucky for her, he quickens his steps and manages to catch her in time.

He carefully put her down and noted that she has passed out and the mana emitted out of her are now back to her usual one. "W-what just happen?" He stammers asking out loud.

"Ku~"

Upon the sound of it, he turns around only for his eyes to befall on a baby dragon who sat on its hind legs with its bright blue pair of eyes stuck on the girl.

"J-just what the hell happen here?!"
