The last test finally end as the sun nearly setting. All the contestants gather by the center of the examination venue as they wait for the final calling.

"This concludes the exam." The captain of Golden Dawn announces. "Now.. Candidates whose numbers are called, please step forward."

Kana stands between Asta and Yuno who obviously quite excited but with a mixture of nervousness while her expression remains unreadable.

"The squad captains will raise their hands if they would like you to join their squads." The beautiful blonde captain of Blue Rose, Charlotte Roselei stood up. "The candidates will decide if they would like to accept or decline, and if they are chosen by more than one captain, they may choose which squad they'd like to join."

"But if no one raises their hands, that candidates will not join the Magic Knights," Fuegoleon adds.

"And you will leave immediately." Novel Silva coldly states.

The red hair girl frowns as she glances over her the shorter boy who becomes a bit nervous. She couldn't blame him for that, unlike Yuno who displayed quite an impressive amount of his abilities, people didn't give seconds glance toward Asta as the captains probably notice that he was different from all the other contestants.

"Candidate #1, step forward."

"Y-yes, sir!"

Thus, the final selection begins.

"Number 32, no offers."

"Number 40, no offers."

"Number 45, no offers."

"Number 67, no offers."

"Number 71, the Purple Orcas."

Everyone in awe as someone finally selected to join a squad after numbers of contestants didn't receive any offers at all.

"Number 78."

"I shall welcome him," Fuegoleon announces as he raises his hand.

"The Crimson Lion Kings."

"Number 99, step forward."

Kana watch in shock as its Hiromi turn and the girl nervously steps forward. She moves as if baby deer taking their first steps.

The blue hair girl's hands put in front of her chest with a look of hopefulness.

The fire user couldn't help but felt guilty for what she has done, but Yuno who notice her thoughts earlier has told her not too since that's one of the conditions to be a Magic Knights. They need to be strong and tough to be in a squad. If her hold back, there's an even higher chance the water magic user won't be accepted into any squad.

"The Coral Peacock." The man announces.

A look of relief wash over the sailor girl. Even Kana breathed out in relief as she watches a big smile of her former opponent's face as she happily walks over her fellow friends.

The selection continues with numbers more of disappointment wash offer the other contestants as even up until now, only a few that have been accepted even if they have reached 100th.

"Number 116, no offers."

"Number 141, no offers."

"Next, #164."

Asta and Yuno in sync glance over the girl who simply walks forward without any words. For the boys, however, they couldn't help but become nervous, not for her but for what could she up too.

They know how much she hates the Magic Knights. Whenever the topics pertaining them comes up, her expression darkens and they will face her wrath if they dare to speak of them in front of her.

Yet here she is, taking an exam herself. And the question that keeps lingering on their minds was, why?

But they didn't dare to ask her, whether because they don't want to upset her or because they know she won't tell them anything.

"All who wish to offer, please raise your hand."

Not only for the crowds but to the girl's own surprise, not one hand raised but there're four of them.

She watches as the captain of Blue Rose, Crimson Lion, Golden Dawn, and Black Bull have their hand raises. Despite all that, she couldn't help but being awe by the situations. She never thought of receiving any offers, moreover from four squads at the same time.

Thus, however, she clenches her fists as she glances over each of the captains.

"You may choose whichever squad you wish to join." The announcer reminds the girl.

"There something I want to ask first," Kana spoke out loud.

Murmurs from the other contestants erupted while Asta and Yuno couldn't help but sweat in nervousness. They knew she was up to something, but they wish what on their mind wasn't what about to happen. But knowing the girl, she could make it possible.

Even the captains all now focus on the red-haired girl whose standing right in front of them with a look of determination.

"What's up with her?"

"Who the hell she think she is?"

"How cocky of her."

"Oi! Hurry up! There's more of us here!"

As a boy shout it out, the other contestants start throwing words toward the red-haired girl who seems unfazed by them as she keeps her stoic expression with her eyes fixed to the captains.

William raises his hand silencing the crowds in a matter of seconds. "Why don't we hear what she about to says first? Please go on." He motions his hand over the girl to go ahead.

A feeling of anger and nervousness wash over her body. The memories of that day come hitting her non-stop but she tries to collect herself. "Kanazawa village-" She starts and watches as some of the captains become tense making her eyes narrow dangerously. "You must hear of them, right?"

None of the captains offer any words making her continue.

"Eleven years ago, that village was attacked by unknown forces. The whole villagers were killed during those attacks. And as the rumors spread, there are no survivors at all. Nobody knows what happens or who did it. Even the houses were burned down to ashes leaving no trails of the culprits. Not even the life-stocks was given mercy. Nothing was saved that day, nothing." Her last words spat much more bitterly than others. "Now my real question is, where the hell is the magic knights?"

The whole venue goes silent. Not a single person says a word as the contestants watch in confusion as the captains stay silent.

"Magic Knights was supposed to protect the people of the Clover's Kingdom who can't protect themselves, and where were you people when the attacked happen? When were you when they scream for help?"

"You don't know any-" Nozel step up having enough of it but he wasn't able to finish as it seems to craze the girl's up.

"Don't you dare said that I don't know anything about it?!"

Everyone watch in shock as angry tears falling off the girl's face and her teeth gritting as she holds herself from attacking them.

"It's was you who doesn't know anything! You weren't even there when they need you!"

"What are you talking about? Calm yourself-" Fuegoleon goes to step down but a surge of mana froze him along with others.

Their eyes fall on the girl who now unleashing a huge amount of mana. They weren't as strong as the captains' but it still enough to catch them off guard.

"They were shouting that the magic knights will save them."

'Magic Knights will come! Get yourself to safety!' A man shouts as he runs along with his wife and children in their hands.

'They will save us.' A boy reassuring his crying sister while his body trembling.

"They trusted you to save them!"

'Where are they?!' An old man shouts with his body weakened by the loss of blood.

'Help!' Someone beg before something pierce into his body and fall lifeless on the ground.

'Please! My son is here!' The scream of crying mother scratching the huge rock sitting over her son's legs.

'It hurts!' The boy cried out in pain.

'Someone please!'

"Even until the end of their lives, their fate in you never lost, and yet here you're, alive and they are all dead."

"You-" William's eyes widen in realization as he watches the girl's body trembling as a surge of anger fill her.

"You're right. I'm the only survivor of the attacked." The flame user hands clench so hard that her palm starts drawing blood as her body shook in anger.

'I'm sorry, Kana-chan.'

"I'm the last of the Kanazawa village-"

'I love you so much'

Kana's eyes narrow dangerously with tears that keep falling off her face.

"And I will be the one to end the Magic Knights."
