3rd pov

After y/n made it backed to hoshido he was able to reconnect with ryoma and the others as well some training and teachings from yukimura during those times he got better with his sacred weapon and a better understanding of its capabilities but he is still unable to use its power to its full extent due to his past from his abuse from xander,Camilla and Leo right now y/n is with saizo at the bottomless canyon when y/n is on the battle field he goes by the name vanitas to avoid contact from xander and the others

Y/n: man I wonder if there is a bottom to that canyon?

Saizo: if there is then it wouldn't be called the bottomless canyon

Y/n: true but does it make you curious

Saizo: I wouldn't advise that y/n

Y/n: saizo you know when we are not in hoshido's main city to call me vanitas

Saizo: I know but I've been meaning to ask why do you call yourself that name do you have a problem with your real name?

As they were talking a hoshidan soldier came in with a worried expression 

Hoshidan soldier: sirs we have some norhian troops in the canyon

Hoshidan soldier: there were four but now there's three

Saizo: I'll go inform kagero to tell Lord ryoma vanitas you go on ahead to hold of the norhian scouts I'll join you soon

Y/n: alright

Y/n says as he puts on his helmet that goes with his outfit and heads to were the norhian troops are as he gets there he see a girl around his age about to attack another hoshidan soldier but he quickly jumps into the shadow and gets in between them with is x-blade out as he blocked her sword as their weapons clashed y/n can feel dark energy from the girl's sword

Y/n's thoughts: 'what is this dark energy from the sword I've got a bad feeling about this'

Then y/n pushes the girl back away from him as an aged knight on a horse comes to her side

Vanitas: get to safety I'll take care of them

Hoshidan soldier: yes General vanitas be careful 

As the soldier left the aged knight tried to take vanitas by surprise but vanitas swiftly dodged the attack and pushed the knight back by sending a gust of wind from swinging his x-blade as the girl went in to attack but vanitas blocked her attacked then grabbed her by the throat then shoulder bashed her back then fallowed up with dark firegra as it went to her but the knight blocked the attack from her

Aged knight: so your the infamous General of hoshido vanitas

Vanitas: so I guess my reputation proceeds me so mind tell me your names since you know mine

Gunter: I'm a knight of nohr Gunter 

Kamui: and I'm kamui a princess of nohr its nice to finally meet the vanitas of hoshido

Y/n blushes under his helmet then he shakes his head to get rid of the blush

Vanitas: well I'm charmed so mind telling me why your here this is hoshidan territory 

Kamui: we are here because we thought this place was abandoned 

Vanitas: well surprise surprise its not

As y/n finished his sentance saizo landed right next to him

Saizo: I just sent kagero to report to Lord ryoma

Vanitas: good let's hold these guys off until she come and gives us what to do

Saizo: right

Saizo went after Gunter as y/n went after kamui they both clash their weapons kamui saw a opening on on y/n as soon she tried to hit him he teleported and reappeared behind her he tried to strike down at her but she manage to dodge they both charged at eatch other every time their weapons clashed kamui can feel some sadness coming from the blade as it was trying to communicateto her about y/n as kamui tried to do another strike on y/n but he swiftly dodged and kicked her in the back she landed on the as she tried to get up y/n was standing over her as she turned around her back towards the ground she sees y/n about to stab her with his weapon aimed at her chest as he was about to move his weapon he was pushed back by an attack by xander

Xander: sister are you alright

Kamui: brother what are you doing her

Xander: we had a bad feeling about the assignment you went on so we came to help when you need it

Kamui: we?

As soon as she said that Camilla, Leo and Elise came out

Kamui: you guys came to

Leo: of course we came we didn't want to lose you like

Camilla: like we've lost y/n 

Xander: yeah

After they finished that y/n was enraged that he got up and jumped

Vanitas: suffer!

He said as he sent a wave of black lighting at xander that he blocked but not without taking some damaged sending him back abit

Xander: your strong General vanitas of hoshido

Vanitas: more than you know weakling

Camilla came down to try to hit y/n but he teleport again and reappear in front of her to Mich her in the stomach sending her off her wyvern and land on her back y/n landed on top of her about to stab her but Leo sent a fire ball at him to knock him way but y/n sent a dark firegra at leo's attack to stop it leaving him wide open for Camilla to attack she swung her axe at him y/n barely dodges Camilla's axe hits the part of his helmet where half of it breaks reveling some of his h/c hair and his e/c eye xander,Camilla and Leo couldn't help but feel that he look familiar 

Camilla: who are you

Y/n didn't answer as Camilla gets up on her feet then y/n lifts his x-blade in the air

Vanitas: show me anguish!

With that his weapon starts to glow then he charges at Camilla he was about to swing his weapon but xander got in front of her and blocked the attack sending a shock wave around them y/n gives xander a hateful glare xander was confuse why he was showing him so much hate but he does see some sadness in his eye then y/n pushes him back

What they didn't know is that kamui and Gunter were long gone during their fight saizo was fighting a butler then saizo lands back where y/n is then kagero comes in

Kagero: saizo vanitas Lord ryoma is on his way here with some reinforcements 

Vanitas: about time so what are you going to do *uses magic to repair his helmet* so what are you going to do keep on fighting or retreat

Xander: well fall back we we're only making sure or sister is safe by we will meet again especially you vanitas 

With that they retreat and saizo and y/n relaxthen went to report on what happen

Xander pov

After we left I couldn't help but wonder on who vanitas actually is his h/c hair and e/c eye reminded me of y/n maybe vanitas knows something 

Xander's thoughts: vanitas when the time comes I'll know who you actually are
