Since Lacie left life has went back to the normal it was before she left. I'm avoiding Lexi and Candy. I really wish I knew how to handle these situations. I started to go to the gym more to work out with Layla. The youth group she told me about has been helpful. I've made some friends there but all of them are college students or seniors in high school. I have had fun at the meetings though.

    Today is Winter Formal. It is December 14th and I am so pumped for tonight. Kade told me he wanted to pick me up, he just got his drivers license.

    I am getting ready when Laura comes in with a hair piece that sparkles with silver rhinestones.
     "I found this while shopping the other day. Thought you might like it!" She says handing it to me. It is pretty and goes with my shoes. 
     "Thank you it will fit nicely above my bun." I say taking it from her.

    I do my hair in an up-do and put the hair piece above it. My dress is so sweet,  once my purple eye shadow is done I put it on. Finally, I have silver mule style, kitten heels. I sigh with contentment, I look so good!

     "Oh honey!" Dad sighs as I come down the stairs with my clutch in hand.
     "You look beautiful!" Laura exclaims.
     "Thank you! Can I get a picture with each of you?" I ask pulling out my camera.

    We are in the drive way taking pictures when Kade pulls up in a black jeep. He looks handsome in a black tux and a Lavender tie.
     "Wow!" He marvels.
     "Come on, Romeo, lets get some photos." Laura deadpans.
     "Oh, sure!" He splutters and takes my hand into the grass.

     After 20 minutes I have a ton of pictures to go through.
     "Alright be back by midnight." Dad tells me sternly.
     "Do you have other shoes?" Kade asks.
     "No, do you want me to grab another pair?" I ask confused.
     "Yeah I kinda want to take you somewhere afterwards." He says shyly.
     "Alright I'll go grab a pair of flats."

    Minutes later we are headed to the school.
     "I'm warning you, I have 2 left feet!" Kade tells me.
     "Oh it is okay, in these shoes I am bound to step on a few toes. Hope your boots are steel toed!" I say giggling.
     "Oh no!" He gasps in mock horror and we laugh as we pull into the school parking lot.

     "So food first or dance?" I ask.
     "I'm feeling a slow dance is in order!" He says and pulls me into the school.

    Once we are in the school and the first slow dance comes on, it is Homesick by Kane Brown. When it is done we head to the food area and eat lots of kabobs. I really love those things.

    When Kade is going to get us Punch I get a text. It is from Candy.
Candy- Pls tell your dad to send help to
6354 Teller Road. I need help.
Me- What is going on Candy?
Candy- Travis has tried to make a move toward sex. I don't want it! He is mad now and I've locked myself in the bathroom.
Me- Alright I will call my dad. I'll be there soon too.
Candy- No stay and enjoy Formal! I don't want to ruin anything else for you!
Me- No Candy I care about what happens to you. I will be there in a few.

    Once this final text is sent I call my dad slightly panicked.
"Dad please send a police force to 6354 Teller Road!" I practically scream into the phone.
"What is the matter Kara? You need to calm down!"
"Travis is about to rape Candy! He is really angry and might hurt her!" I am in a panic and Kade looks at me concernedly as he hands me my punch.
"Okay honey, you stay at the dance and try to enjoy yourself... I'm getting on it!"
"Okay!" I say tremulously and hang up.

     "What is the matter?" Kade asks me.
     "Travis is trying to hurt Candy. She needs help! Dad is sending help and he told us to stay here." I cry.
     "Come one lets try to dance." He says and pulls me to the floor to dance to an Ed Sheeran song.

    I just can't get my mind off Candy and Kade can see why. He pulls me off the floor and we head to the water fountains when my phone rings. It is Candy.
"Kara! I need help for real! He is banging in the door. I'm going to go to the roof." She whispers and I can hear the sheer fear in her voice.
"We'll be there as quickly as we can!" I tell her and pull Kade out to the car.
"Okay I'll fight as long as I can!" She says but the call is ended with a scream .

     "We need to get over there as soon as possible!" I exclaim showing Kade the Address.

   Just as we are pulling out of the lot Lexi jogs up.
     "What is wrong?"
     "Candy is about to be hurt by Travis." Kade tells her and she hops in. I am too scared to even care. Candy is in danger and we must get there ASAP.
     "KADE DRIVE FASTER!" I shout and he guns it out of the school lot.

    In no time we are on our way to Travis's house and I have kinda gone into a trance. Dad told me not to go but his forces are being too slow. We have to save Candy.
