New York Part 2

The next day I wake to the smell of penut butter and coffee. Aunt Milly is making pb&j's and I love her for it. Pb&j is simple but soooo good.
"Morning!" I say stretching as I walk into the kitchen.
"Hey. Did you think about what I said last night? You need to tell him asap!" She exclaims.
"I want this to not be serious. We are just kids. Yes I do feel strongly about him but we need to take it slow."
"You may be right. But I do know that if you hold it in for too long it will pop out at the most inopportune time."
"Yeah but I will take my chances." I say making the last of my coffee. Taking one of the sandwiches I head back to the living room where Lacie is stirring.

It takes the whole of the morning for us to get ready and Aunt Milly to post a new blog post. By noon I have showered and curled my hair. I put on my black really ripped black jeans with my grey t-shirt and olive green cardigan. With my new black boots and I'm ready to go.

The day is really chilly and Lacie is wanting to wear my burgundy leather jacket so I let her. Lacies style is cutsie and grungy. I love the way she dresses. She is wearing my jacket with a black and burgandy floral shirt. Her skirt is a button up and with the tights and her Chelsea boots she looks like the quintessential New York gal.

"Oooohhh you look cute." I tell her as Mom hails two taxis.
"Thanks. I just got this shirt at H&M." She tells me. Aunt Milly, me, and Lacie all hop into a taxi and Mom and Mathew get in the other. We are headed to times square to shop and eat. Aunt Milly needs more content for her blog and Lacie wants some Instagram pics.
"I'm gonna get so many likes. This is a hot spot for coffee pics and the likes."
"Dad took my Insta away after Travis got me the first time. He said no socials!" I say. I really do miss Instagram and Twitter. My Snapchat I can do without it just brings drama to my life.

We get to Times Square an hour later after lots of Traffic and some walking. I love New York for the business but I hate the traffic. I would never want to live here.
"I'm gonna go to Starbucks anyone want to come?" Mathew asks.
"I do..." I say as Mom nods taking his hand and I follow a little distance back from them taking a few pics that I can enter into a future competition.

I like photography and haven't been able to take lots of pics in Texas. I need some landscapes and some people. Maybe Candy or Kade would like to model. I've snuck some pics from our forwheelers and some pics of the windows when we first got to the ranch a few weeks ago. I like the app Retrica for the best filters but then again I like to catch scenes in their raw beauty with no filter.

"Hey Kara what do you want?" Mom asks as we walk into the Starbucks.
"A chai latte with coconut milk." I tell her turning to the room. I spot some young kids in the corner and snap a pic. The youthful glow on their faces is just captivating.
"You would be great as a newspaper photographer. Your perspective and eye for beautiful scenes is very keen." Mathew says from behind me. I jump and turn from my phone.
"Oh! You scared me. Yeah thanks." I say as mom brings my coffee.
"Do you photograph often?" He asks.
"As often as I can. The real beauty is in nature and with a pro camera. Sadly my last camera broke and I haven't been able to get a new camera."
"You do well on your phone though. Your pictures edited must be really good."
"Yeah I've won a few competitions. They always paid for more film or new camera's."
"I'd like to see your profile!"
"Its on Retrica share." I tell him as we cross the square to find Aunt Milly and Lacie.

Hours later after our pictures have been taken and the blog has been updated we all pile into a van uber and head to China Town for lunch. I really want noodles and some fortune cookies.

"When will my pics be ready?" Lacie asks me.
"In an hour or so. I'm just editing them now." I tell her as I tweak her faded outlines.
     "Don't overdo it please?"
"When have I ever overdone it!??" I ask aghast.
"I've seen a lot of bloopers by pro photographers and not by just novice photographer's such as yourself."

I just laugh and keep on editing. My pics have never been botched but they will be if people keep talking to me. I take extra care when editing.
"Kara do you want to go to a broadway show tonight?" Mom asks.
"Yeah sure but isn't it expensive?" I ask uncertain.
"Well I've been saving and it can be a kind of girls night for the both of us." She tells me with a smile.
"What about lacie?" I ask not wanting her to be left out.
"Me and Milly are going to get me started with a blog of my own. And maybe a Youtube chanel!!!" Lacie tells me with a big sparkle in her eye.
     "Are you sure?"
"Yes! I've wanted to do this for a while....." Lacie says trailing off into thought.

Knowing Lacie her blog will have tons of readers by next week. She will do local and international trends by the week.
"Well then you have fun." I tell her as we pull into China Town.

Later that night I'm so ecxited. We are going to see Pretty Woman. It is a Musical and I have no clue what it is about. Aunt Milly lent me an outfit becuause I have nothing to wear that is fancy.  She lends me her olive green dress from the 50's and a pair of newd heels. Mom thinks my chest is too much on display so Aunt Milly puts a cream silk shawl over my shoulders and then Lacie pulls her magic with Makeup and Hair. I feel so pretty when she turns me around.

"Omg Kara! You look so good!" Lacie exclaims as she snaps a pic.
"Can I put this on the blog as my first update!?" She asks.
"Sure and Thanks." I say turning to mom who is in a formal and simple all black dress with sequined heels. Her hair was done by Aunt Milly and she looks radient.
"You look beautiful." I tell her as Mathew nods from the corner. He looks flushed and she blushes.
"Thanks Kara you too. You ready to go?"

I just nod as we head down to the lobby to wait for our taxi.
"You need to send a picture to Kade. I'm sure he would appreciate a pretty picture like this again." Mom tells me once we are on our way. I blush and turn away to do just that.

Me: Hey!
Kade: Hey, you look beautiful! Where you going?
Me: Going to a broadway show with mom. I just love this dress!
Kade: It is a pretty dress. Wish I could take you to a show. I miss you so much. When you coming home?
Me: I'll be back on tuesday. We are leaving NYC tomorrow. We need to talk when I get back.....
Kade: What about????? Did I do something??
Me: Nothing bad. ;)
Kade: Well I'll see you Tuesday then. I have to go. Going to dinner with dad.
Me: Okay bye.
Kade: Bye.

We pull up to the show as I turn my phone off. I look out of the window to see lights and camera's everywhere. Its blinding and exciting.
     "Mom who's here tonight?"
"The members of Panic at the Disco? Some band that is alternative to pop."
"Omg Brenden Urie!!!!! I freaking love them!" I squeal and startle a few people around us.

"You do!" A husky voice says from behind me and to my right. I slowly turn to see Brenden, his wife, Dan Pawlivich, Nichols Row, and Mike Naran all smiling at me.
"Oh my God! This isn't real, mom pinch me." She does and they are definitely real.
"Hi, whats your name?" Brenden asks me.
     "Kara." I say quietly.
"Well Kara, its nice to meet you. How old are you?"
     "15."
"Well how long have you been listening to us?"
     "Since I was nine!"
"Well that is a long time." He says as I just gape. Then I muster up some courage and ask.
"Can I have a picture and an autogragh?"
"Yeah sure." He says. I hand my phone to mom and squeaze in next to his wife the others pile in behind us.

Once he has signed the back of my phone case I smile and thank him.
"Thank you. Sorry for freaking out like that. It is just you guys are one of ny favorite bands."
"Well its nice to be ranked in among your favorites. Thank you for listening to us and being an enthusiastic fan. We love our 'Sinners'."
"Yeah Thank you!" I say as my mom pulls me to our seat.
* * * *
The show and food was great. I laughed and cried all in one breath. Me and mom had a great time and it makes me miss being with her all the time.
"Mom thank you for tonight!" I tell her as we are pulling up to the apartment.
"Your welcome honey. I miss having my girl all the time. It is really a hard thing you not being around, but Matt is easing it a bit. I want you to come home at Christmas or I'll come down there."
"I was thinking you come down there. It would be great for you to see where I live."
     "Yeah I'd like that."

Not gonna lie I'm kinda a fake PAC fan. Don't know much about them. Thank you for reading! Please like if you like and comment tell me what you think.
