I am shaken awake by Mom at 6 am. We need to make it to New York by noon. Mathew is in my door and he looks tired. They were up late.
     "Kara wake up..."
     "I'm awake." I groan as I roll out of bed. Pulling out my back pack and pack some jeans, a few shirts, and my vans. Then stretching I pull on my new green pull over and my light wash jeans. My black boots are by the door and I slip into them on my way to the kitchen.

    The coffee pot is brewing as I walk in. One thing I like about Mathew is he has a deep appreciation for coffee. We smile at eachother and I take the cup he hands me. He reminds me a lot of the guy who plays Clark Kent in Batman.
     "Nice boots!" He says.
     "Thanks."
     "Isn't texas hot though?" He asks perplexed.
     "At this time of year it gets chilly and so jackets and boots are advised to have on hand." I tell him.
     "Do you like it better there than here?"
     "Kinda, I sorta have a boyfriend there." I say as mom comes in.

     "You all ready?" She asks grabbing the coffee Mathew hands to her.
     "Yep!" Me and Mathew respond at the same time. We all head to mom's Honda accord and pile our bags in the back.

    When Lacie gets in she hands me a donut.
     "Mom went and got some, I had an extra. Its from Tony's."
     "Thanks!" I exclaim. Tony's a donut shop near our house has my all time favorite donuts. Theirs are the only ones I'll eat.

    As we head down I-90 west Mathew turns to me and asks.
     "Who is your favorite artist?"
     "Well, ACDC is my all time and my favorite solo artist is David Bowie." I tell him.
     "So your into old rock. I like the old Jazz and Jiggle tunes." He says.
     "Well old music is what makes me feel alive. There's nothing like running to some good old Back in Black."
     "That's one if my favorites!" He exclaims.

    Mom witnessing our exchange smiles. I guess this is her dream.
     "We will be stopping in a few. Does anyone want anything?" She asks.
     "I'd like some water." Lacie says.
     "Can I have a Kickstart the blueberry pomegranate?" I ask.
     "Sure." Mom says we pull in.

    Lacie turns to me as mom and Mathew both get out of the car.
     "So tell me about Kade?"
     "Well he's sweet and very protective."
     "Is he hot?" She asks giggling.
     "Girl I don't feel I can compare at all to him." I groan and pull out my phone.

    When she sees the picture she laughs.
     "He's just your type!"
     "I wasn't aware I had a type." I say.
     "Well you do. Its the grungy, hot, and sweet combo." She tells me matter a factly as Mathew gets in.
     "Okay." I dead pan as a text comes in.
'Have fun in NYC' its Travis again and I gasp.

    How does he know where I am going..... I quickly forward the text to dad and put my phone down.
     "Who was it?" Mathew asks.
     "Some guy who thinks its funny to stalk me." I groan and he just frowns. "Is it Travis?" Lacie asks. I just nod and keep on looking out the window.

    I get a text from Kade about and hour into the trip that reads
Kade: How's the trip going?
Me: It's slow, but fun. Me and Lacie are hanging in the back. Mom has a boyfriend his name is Mathew. Also I got a text from Travis earlier, somehow he knows I'm going to NYC!
Kade: Okay have fun.... Miss you....

    I miss him too. I never thought I would miss Texas as much as I do. We have only been apart for three days and I miss him so much. I think I'm in love with him. He is the best guy I've ever met. We have just about nothing in common and yet we fit so perfectly.
* * * *
    Me and Lacie are shaken awake around 11:30 when we have reached the suburbs of New York.
     "Your Aunt is meeting us for lunch in China Town. We are getting fried noodles." Mom tells us. I smile and do a little yip at this.

    The noodles in China Town are the best. I could live on them. We arrive at the shop about 15 minutes later. The traffic wasn't that bad! It's getting less and less croweded near china town.
     "So how is Aunt Milly?" I ask mom.
     "She is doing great. Her blog is getting so many reads. A big company offered to buy her out but she refused!" Mom tells me as we get out of the car.

    Lacie turns to me as we get onto the covered sidewalk.
     "Is your aunt the writer of the 'We are Here' blog?"
     "Yes she is. I am not a big fan she writes about the stupidest stuff but mom is just about a fanatic."
     "She has some valid points!" Lacie exclaims.
     "I believe as women we should be nurturing and not like men!" I say veiamently.
    "Lets just shut up about it." Lacie says as I see Aunt Milly.

    Aunt Milly is my feminist aunt. She believes men and women should be equal in everything. Her blog is read my thousands and she gets so many letters. I like how she is strong but I'm not the biggest fan of her opinions.
     "KARA!" She calls as we jog over to the table she has.
     "Hi Aunt Milly!" I say as we hug.
     "How are you?! Oh my goodness you are as tall as me now!" She asks and exclaims in one breath.
     "I'm good! Texas is treating me well!"
     "Texas! Why are you there?"
     "I got expelled from Boston High. Got into a fight and they blamed me and not the principles daughter."

    Aunt Milly humphs at this and turns to order noodles and wonton soup. The orders go by quickley. I get some veggie plater and their noodles as well.
     "Lacie tell me a bit about yourself." Aunt Milly says turning to Lacie.
     "Well I'm a huge fan of your blog and I really like fashion design."
     "Then persue your dreams and show Kara a thing or two."

    The rest of the day we went shopping and went to see the Statue of liberty. I got a lot of good pics for Instagram and for Kade. I miss him sooooo much.

     Later in the night Aunt Milly came in and we talked a bit.
     "Kara how are you really?"
     "I'm getting better. My life in Texas isn't as bad as you would think. I have a boyfriend his name is Kade and I really love him." After that came out I have voiced how I really feel about Kade. My eyes widen and Aunt Milley just laughs.
     "You didn't expect that did you!"
     "Its the first time I've ever said that.."
     "Well I will leave you to mull that over." She says getting up and leaving.

    My heart has plumetted. I really didn't know how strongly I felt about Kade. I can't tell him yet we've only been dating for like a month. This is way to fast!

Sooooo this update has been promised for so long. I'm sorry I haven't uploaded at all! Its close to finals at my school and I'm overwhelmed in my college course. It is making me crazy. I'm gonna do my derned best to make at least a 3 or higher. Well thanks for reading. Please leave a like and a comment if you want to see a little more action in this story.
