Lacie in Waco
Two weeks later I awake to a giggle. I see Lacie in the corner of my room and a big bag at her feet.
"LACIE!" I squeal in delight and jump out of bed. She stumbles from the force of my embrace.
She is in a sweat suit and had a baseball cap. It is so good to see her I am nearly crying. She has tears running down her smiling cheeks.
"Omg I can't believe it!" I cry again and hug her once more.
"Hey there!" She exclaims and we laugh again.
"Let me get dressed and we can go to breakfast.
I quickly shower and do my hair and makeup. My hair I let dry naturally pulling it into a ponytail and do my normal makeup. I pull on my black veil brides tee with my really ripped black jeans and my white combat boots. I have a jacket of I get really cold and I am ready to go.
"Looking good!" Lacie comments as I come out of the bathroom.
"You want to see the nursery?" I ask.
"Omg yes, wish I could have a younger sibling."
"Tada!" I say opening the door and she awww's. Smiling we head to the front door.
"So how are the boy options here?" She asks as we walk down the street.
"Pretty good, most are gentlemen except for Travis."
"So where are we headed?"
"A little coffee shop called Common Grounds Waco, they serve great coffee and bagels."
"Noice. I should have known you would find a good coffee shop." She giggles.
When we get there the line is out the door.
"Sorry, forgot to mention they are always busy!" I giggle. Lacie hates line but the line is worth it. Candy and Travis are at the middle of the line and they give us some looks.
"Who are they?"
"Oh, that is Candy and Travis. They are an item now." I whisper and she just rolls her eyes. The line goes quickly and we have our lattes and bagels in no time.
"You are right, this is totally worth it." Lacie moans as she bites into her bagel.
We sit in the shop and gossip. I tell her all about the town and Kade even more and she updates me on how everyone at my old school are. Around noon Jacob pulls up and honks his horn.
"Get in losers we're going shopping!" At this many of the people in line start laughing and me and Lacie blush. Jacob does this everywhere we go.
"For real where are we headed?" He asks me as I get in.
"Erm, good to see you too."
"You too. So where to your highness?"
"The Ranch I need to put in a little work then I'm good for the day. I'm sure you guys can find something to do. Lacie you could hang out with Anita and me, Jacob the cowboys could use some help in the barn." I direct.
"Oh highness it would be my pleasure to smell like poo just for you." He exclaims in a false hoity toity tone.
When we get there I take Jacob to the barn and introduce him to the foreman. He sets him to polishing tak instructing him on how to do it and then leaving him to it. I bring Lacie to the house and Anita puts her to work fast.
Kade comes in from the pasture covered in mud around 3.
"Hey!" I exclaim as he comes into the office.
"Is Lacie the one in the kitchen?"
"Yeah she is excited to meet you but you need a shower and clean clothes." I commanded. He nods and heads to his room.
I get back to work until he gets back and helps me clean up.
"Thanks." I smile and we head to the kitchen. Anita has Jacob and Lacie enrapt with a story about when she lived in Mexico when we walk in. But when she sees us she beamed,
"Mijos!" I smile back and turn to Lacie and Jacob.
"You guys this is my boyfriend Kade."
"You guys are so cute together!" Lacie squeals and Jacob covers his ears.
"I'm sorry about her; it's nice to meet someone I've heard so much about." Jacob added holding out a hand to shake. Kade takes it and they shake. I smile, happy they have finally met.
"So where to?" Kade asks.
"Well I was thinking we could go around town for a bit and then to the rodeo tonight? These two have never been to a rodeo."
"That can be arranged." He smiles and we head to Jacobs car.
"Okay so how long did it take you to get Lacie to go on a date with you?" Lacie asks.
"About three weeks. We became good friends first. She was very hard to get. Now I have her, no one can have her."
"Possessive much?" I gasp.
"You're mine." He states and takes my hand.
As much as I love Kade this is a little over board. Then I remember.... I told him about my old crush on Jacob.
"You don't have to worry about him!" I whisper and laugh.
"Just stating facts."

After wondering the town we head to the rodeo. I am not really dressed right but it will do. I know we will see Lexi here but I can ignore her.
"Can you keep your cool?" Kade asks when we are alone.
"Yes." I say and hug him close.
"Now who is being possessive?" He grins.
"She is an active threat, Jacob never liked me back. He sees me as a little sister more than anything, plus he is too old now." I quip back.
"Where's the food?" Lacie calls from in front us.
"Under the bleachers." Kade calls back taking my hand and leading us there. I get a thing of popcorn and a water. For some reason I am not feeling hungry.
We stay until the half time show and then Jacob takes us home. He has a hotel room but me and Lacie want to stay together. As we settle in bed Lacie turns to me,
"You and Kade are really good for each other."
"Thanks, I really do love him. The fight I feel just made us stronger."
"I hope I can meet someone like him one day." She sighs.
"You've got your whole life. Be the single happy girl or not, be a happy taken girl who is with someone you are meant for." I advise as I get ready for a shower.
"Did you bring dressy clothes?"
"Somewhat, why?"
"We have church tomorrow, then we go to the Mathews house."
"I can borrow some from you right?" She asks.
"Yeah, it is more of a dressy casual and we can get something good for you." I tell her heading to the shower.

We wake on Sunday to Laura. She is in the door to my room and smiles at the way me and Lacie are cuddled together. We always end up like this.
"If you girls hurry we can get breakfast at the church."
"Alright I'm on it." I say hopping up to go and plug in my hair curler.
Lacie ends up not needing to borrow any of my clothes. She has a cute cream sweater that she tucks into a black and white plaid skirt. She pulls on over the knee black heels and her outfit is simple and cute. Her makeup however, she goes out on. Her naturally curly hair she pulls back in two dutch braids.
"Wow, you really look good!" I tell her as I curl my hair.
"I've tried a bit more than usual since I started my blog. If I get caught in public I want to look as if I just finished taking pics for the blog!" She laughs.
Once I am done with my hair I pull on one of my outfits from Maurices. It is a yellow printed skirt with a grey tee and a grey Cardigan. Finally I do my makeup the same as always. Pulling on my black boots last.
"Well lets go get food!" Lacie exclaims once I am done. She always does more than me to get ready but somehow is always ready before me.
Once we get to the church the line for the breakfast buffet is long. We wait me and Lacie talking with some of the other kids in the youth group. When my turn comes I get a plate with eggs, a bagel with cream cheese, and a big cup of coffee. The church has great coffee.
"Not gonna lie, this has to be one of the best waffles I've ever eaten!" Lacie exclaims as we eat.
"It is... I love the coffee!"
"Trust you to always say the coffee is good." She laughs, I just shrug.
When we are done eating we head to the youth room for our Sunday school lesson. Today we have a visitor from Guatemala, he is a missionary and he tells us all about the mission work there and then teaches on the miracles Jesus can do for you, if you just believe. It was great and we took up an offering to help the kids there be able to go to school.
We head to the service after the lesson and I hear the preaching for the first time. The pastors name is Tim and he preaches on trust in the Lord. How it is easier to be blessed by God when you completely trust his word and are obedient to his word. It was good but I was distracted a lot by Kade's hand in mine he is running his thumb over my palm all service. I have shivers down my spine the entire time.
Once church is over we head to the Mathews house. Lacie loves the barn and we four wheel for a couple of hours. I'm glad to see they are getting along. Jacob could not be here because he went to Huston to find housing. He wants an apartment but he will have to stay in a dorm for a bit. Huston is an hour and a half from Texas A&M but in college town all the apartment prices are sky high and so the outskirts of Huston was the best place to look. He will be back on Tuesday.
By the time we get home Lacie is exhausted but she has to call her mom to check in. I say hi as I head to the shower. Kade had to lend both me and Lacie clothes and shoes but my hair and body still hot covered in mud. I love it though. This weekend has been the best in a while. I am so glad Lacie came in, but tomorrow and Tuesday I still have to go to school. She will hang with Laura while I am at school.
"Oh I feel so much better." I sigh as I step out of the shower.
"Well I'm ready for a shower. You may have moved to a small town but there is plenty to do!" She exclaims.
"Yeah I was thinking we could go bowling on tuesday night?" I suggest as I wash my face.
"Oh that would be fun!" She squeals and hops in the shower.
As I head to bed I thank God for this weekend and ask him to protect Candy from Travis. I am trying to put the message from church today in action. Trusting in God to do all that I request of him. With my prayer over I roll over and go to sleep.
