We get up on Monday morning and pack up. Aunt Milly pulls me aside and hugs me tight to her side.
     "Bye Kara. I love you and hope your trip back to Texas is well. If you ever need to talk you know where to call!"
     "Yeah, I think I'm going to tell Kade." I tell her with a small smile.
     "That's good, he could be the one." She giggles.
     "Maybe.." I say turning as a cup of coffee is handed me.

     "Ready to go?" Mom calls from the front door.
     "Yeah!" I call giving Aunt Milly a hug and grabbing my bag.

    When we reach Boston that afternoon Lacie heads straight home. She wants to get her filming area ready and to tell her mom. I get a text from Candy.
Candy: Hey how's your trip going?
Me: Hey! It's been good so far. We went to NYC to see my Aunt Milly. Me and my mom went to a broadway show and I met Brendon Urie!
Candy: Well that sounds eventful. We need to talk. I have some news and I really need to talk to you. I've done something and you may not be to happy.
Me: Well let's wait till I get back, I don't want to be mad all the way home.
Candy: Lol 😰

    So I'm going home tomorrow so tonight Lacie and me are going to the movies with her brother. I need to get ready. I head to the shower enjoying my hot shower and being able to take my time. Laura is obsessed with saving money so we have to take quick showers. When I get out I fishtail my wet hair and leave my face with just some toner on. Toner is the best thing in my makeup and beauty kit.

    Pulling my Hot Chili Peppers t-shirt on under my black Cardigan and my blue jeans on. Finally I pull on my white and black combat boots to complete the look. I feel fresh and ready to go.

    Mom calls me down to dinner and I clomp down the stairs to find spaghetti and toufu meat balls for dinner. Mom knows I'm veggitarian and has tried it for herself. She fails miserably when I'm not around but she tries when I am around. My convictions are just not her convictions.
     "Mom thanks this looks really good. I've been living on salad and pb&j for the past three months!" I squeal and sit down to eat.
     "What does Laura cook?"
     "She does chicken, steak, and lamb chops about twice a week. She makes me a garden salad."
     "The perfect house wife she is isnt she?" Mom smirks.
     "No she just tans and cooks dinner I always end up cleaning!" I say laughing.
     "Well you get some recipes and whip them up for dinner a couple nights a week."
     "I think I will!" I say. My plate is clear and mom is done also.

     "Dishes then the movies!" Mom calls to me. I quickly rinse and dry our plates and wipe the table then run to the garage. My bike, my baby is leaning against the wall where I left it. I pull it up and see there is a flat tire. Quickly I pump it up and pull out onto the dark street. I'm going to meet Lacie at the diner next to the movie theater and we will have some milkshakes. We are seeing The Greatest Showman tonight.

    When I have cliped my bike to the telephone pole outside the diner I turn to see lacie pulling up with Jacob her older brother. I used to have the biggest crush on him but then I met Kade.
     "Jacob!" I squeal running to meet him. He pulls me into a bear hug and kisses my cheek.
     "Hey Kara! Long time no see!" He laughs. Lacie looks at us and then laughs.
     "I know your whole crush on him is over but you guys would be so cute together." She deadpans as I pull away from Jacob. He knew when I had a crush on him and was sweet to me the whole time.
     "Well I have a boyfriend who I look very great with." I snip to her, my face turning red.

    Jacob looks awkward and I just smile tiredly at him. He smiles a small smile at me and we head into the diner. Rafferies has the best milkshakes in Boston.
     "So hows life in the great unknown of Texas?" Jacob asks me.
     "It is pretty good. I have a job and a few friends. I have to go to church with my dad and Laura."
     "Well that sounds great. I have applied to colleges in Texas. Texas A&M and the Huston University." He tells me smiling.
     "Well that sounds great." I say as I take the last sip of my milkshake.

    The movie made me cry and laugh. Kara and Jacob are great company for a movie.
     "Well Kara it was great to see you. I guess I'll see you in the spring?" He asks.
     "Yeah Mom is coming down at Christmas." I tell them and Lacie smiles sadly.
     "I miss being able to come over all the time. It is so boring at school without you."
     "I miss y'all too." I say as I unhook my bike ready to go home. "Alright some last hugs!" I cry as I pull Jacob and Lacie close for a group hug.
     "Bye!" They chorus as I pull away.

    I wake to my mom shaking me with a cup of coffee.
     "Kara, honey, it's time to get up."
     "Okay I'm getting there!" I say exasperatedly. I hate mornings especially when I have to fly in 30 minutes.

    I roll out of my oh so comfy bed and head to my suit case. Pulling out my black jeans with holes in the knees and a simple white tee. I pair this with my black Cardigan and red converse, adding my simple makeup.

     "Kara hurry up!" Mom calls from down the stairs. I grab my cup of coffee and zip of my bag. Matt is at the bottom of the stairs and he hands me a bagel and my packed carry on.
     "It was nice meeting you. I got you a little surprise in the box along with a photography book. It will occupy you on the flight down."
     "Well I had a great time. It was nice meeting you too. Thanks for the book."

    Mom looks between us with a loving look and pulls me out the door. She is very happy with him and I hope he is going to be around for a while.

    As me and mom drive to the airport she turns to me and says.
     "I'm going to come down at Christmas, the day after so maybe Lacie can come down with me. I want to meet this Laura and see exactly what Kade looks like in person."
     "Well I can't wait. Thanks for making my stay so nice. I love you and miss Boston so much."
     "Kara its not fair how I can't be with you as much I want. I miss you too, when you first left I could barely function then I met Matt! He changed my life."
     "I miss you too and I will be here all summer. I kinda like it a lot better in Texas, the winter and fall are much warmer I'll tell you that."
     "Well we are here let me see you to the gate."

    I am checked through security and on my way onto the plane when mom grabs me and hugs me as if it is her last.
     "I love you, Kara." Mom just says as I nod the tears coming fast.
     "I love you too." I say and turn to board the plane.

    When I'm in my general class seat I open my backpack and look in it. There are snacks and a water bottle. A box that reads Cannon makes me gasp. I pull it out and open the box slowly. There is a silver brand new camera sitting in tussue. A card underneath reads.

Kara,
     Thank you for being so welcoming and accepting of me into your life. I love your mom alot and want your permission to marry her? Please text me the answer when you are in Texas. I want you to think about it.
                                        A begging Matt.

    I smile at the note. Matt has my very enthusiastic approval. I had only met him four days ago but I can see how much he loves mom.

    The rest of the ride home I sleep and listen to music.  When I reach Huston airport I get through customs and see my dad next to Kade. It is 8 pm and Kade looks tired. He must have worked hard.
One look at him and I flash back to my conversation with Aunt Milly. I blush and smile at the same time.
     "Hey weary traveler." He says to me as he pulls me close.
     "Hey weary ranchman." I retort and he laughs.
     "Welcome back Kara!" Dad says to me as he grabs my bag and Kade takes the backpack I dropped to hug him.
     "Thanks." I say as we head to the door.

    When we reach the house Kade hops on his four wheeler and heads home. I get in bed and text Matt the yes I came up with before even taking off out of Boston. My eyes close as Laura pops her head in to tell me we are going to find out the gender of the baby in the morning. I smile, my family seems to just keep growing.
