"We'll keep her here in the hospital." Doctor Barnes-the doctor that gave Fern a check up- said, handing Fern a lollipop, and a couple sticks of gum.

"How long will it take for her to get better?" Jack asked.

"A couple days maybe? With the proper medications and treatment, she should be fine. She'll be out in no time."

"Is there no other way to get her out sooner?" Rose asked. Jack looked back at Fern who was gnawing on her lollipop, he smirked and ruffled the kids hair, which caused her to giggle.

"No, like I said, it's going to take a couple days." The Doctor sighed.

"Okay,"

"Visiting hours are over at 8." Doctor Barnes said, he said his goodbyes and left everyone in the room.

"So Princess, you ready to stay here in the hospital?" Jack asked Fern.

"I'm staying in the hospital?!?!" Fern exclaimed nearly dropping her lollipop.

"Yes, it's the only way you're gonna get better." The Doctor said. Fern was started to tear up.

"No, please don't leave me here! I hate the hospital! It scares me, almost as much as being alone in the house. But nothing scares me more than my nightmares. They seem so real. . .and Doctor, you're the only one that's able to make me feel better while I'm having them." Fern said, she soon broke down in tears, hugging the closest thing to her which was Jack.

Jack hugged back, rubbing her arm, trying to make her feel better.

"The other doctors can help you. We can ask Doctor Barnes stay with you." Mickey said.

"No!"

"Hey, Princess it's alright. Calm down, you can get through this."

"I-I can?" Fern asked, wiping her tears and looking up at Jack.

"Sure you can! You're a Princess, and a Princess is brave. I bet if you can stay alone in a big house for years, you can stay in a hospital for a couple days." Fern weakly smiled, and sniffled.

"R-really? You-you think I'll be able to d-do it?"

"Of course, your majesty." Fern giggled and hugged Jack.

"Thank you Jack." Jack chuckled and hugged her back.

"It was my pleasure."

Fern bit her lip, she couldn't sleep. If she slept, she would get nightmares, if she got nightmares, she'd wake up the whole hospital, if she woke up the whole hospital she's in trouble, big time. A figure stepped into the dark room, Fern let out a yelp and hid under the blankets.

"Fern?" The voice of Doctor Barnes said. The lights flickered on and Fern peeked out from the blankets. Doctor Barnes took a seat at the foot of Fern's bed. "Fern, I was doing my rounds and I saw that you were awake."

Doctor Barnes then saw the state Fern was in. She had droopy eyes and her head bobbled when she looked around. "Have you been awake this whole time?"

Fern shook her head. He gave her a look of disbelief. Fern then nodded.

"Fern, one of the only ways your going to get better is if you get plenty of rest."

"B-b-but, Doctor B-Barnes. I-I have nightmares." Fern stammered. "A-and I sc-scream everytime. . .I wanna go b-back h-home."

"I'll make a deal with you. I'll try and get my rounds down as fast as I can. And how about I stay here for the night, when ever you have a nightmare, I'll wake you up before you scream. How does that sound?" Fern nodded.

"Th-thank you. Thank y-you, so m-much."

"Look at her, she really does look like a Princess."

"Yeah."

"Will you be quiet? She's trying to sleep!"

Fern groaned and sat up in bed rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning Princess Fern." Fern opened her eyes and looked around the room. There was the Doctor, Rose and Jack. She's guessing that Jack spoke first, then Rose then the Doctor then Jack again.

"Hi." She muttered. "Where's Rose's mom and Mickey?"

"They had to go to work." Rose answered.

"Oh," Fern's stomach rumbled, and right on cue, a nurse came in with a lap tray of food.

"Here ya go sweetie." She said. She set the tray down on a Fern's lap.

"Thank you." Fern said yawning. The nurse smiled and left the room, sending an admiring look at Jack. Fern started eating.

"How're you feeling, Princess?" Jack asked.

"I'm feelin' better, haven't coughed while I was sleepin', at least I don't think so, I was asleep so I couldn' really tell." Everyone chuckled. Fern smiled and continued to stuff her face with food.

It's been 2 days and Fern was better than ever. Fern had actually started liking the hospital. It made her feel like she was a real princess. The way the nurses would bring you things when you wanted it, was like having servants.

Fern walked out of the building, holding the Jack's hand. Fern had grown really fond of Jack, and he turned out to be her best friend. He insists on calling her Princess, or your majesty, or your highness. The Doctor and Rose were kinda off it the day Fern got out of the hospital. Little did Fern know, her life was gonna change that very day.

"Doctor, are you alright?" Fern asked.

"Yeah, I-I'm fine."
