"We're in London." Fern said stepping out of the T.A.R.D.I.S.

"Be careful, we may be in a different world." The Doctor said cautiously. Fern gave him a weird look. She saw a pedestrian walking by and she went up to him. She tugged on the black blazer he had on. He gave her a confused look and kneeled down next to her.

"Can I help you?" He asked.

"Excuse me, Mister. But my friend Thomas, " She gestured to the empty space beside her, "wants to know what planet we live on." She leaned into his ear. "He's an alien."

The stranger chuckled and decided to play along.

"Oh, I see. Well Thomas," the man looked at the empty space beside Fern, "we live on the planet Earth."

"He wants to know the date too."

"It's August 13th 2006."

"Thank you mister!" Fern then skipped away back to the Doctor and Rose who were leaning on the outside wall of the T.A.R.D.I.S., and were watching Fern. "Did you hear all that?"

"Every word." The Doctor said. Fern moved herself in between Rose and the Doctor and mirrored what they were doing. "So we're in London."

"Something bad must be happening or else we wouldn't be here." Rose said.

"Exactly."

"While we're trying to figure that one out, how about visiting my mom." The Doctor groaned. Rose glared at him.

"Rose!" A voice called. Everyone looked at who it was. A woman with blonde hair like Rose's, but pulled into a ponytail, ran toward them. The woman finally approached and she immediately hugged Rose. Fern hid behind the Doctor when the woman approached. "Oh Rose! I thought I told you to be here sooner!"

"That can be arranged." The Doctor said, tapping the T.A.R.D.I.S. with the knuckle of his index finger.

"Whatever, I'm just glad that my sweetheart's back! Let's go then, I'll fix you guys a cuppa." The woman finally saw Fern hiding behind the Doctor, and her jaw dropped. She let go of Rose's hand and slapped the Doctor right across the face. Fern covered her mouth with a hand in surprise and to hold back the laughter.,

The Doctor put his hand on the cheek that the woman slapped.

"What was that for?!"

"For having a kid with my daughter without even being married!" Fern then realized that the woman was Rose's mother. Her mother turned to Rose. "Oh, sweet heart why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?! I could've helped you!

"And ya know I told you, he was bad news! But then-" Rose put a hand over her mothers mouth.

"Mom, I'm not pregnant. I never was. Now I'm going to uncover your mouth, but you have to stay quiet." Rose's mom nodded. Rose uncovered her mouth.

Rose looked at Fern, holding out a hand. Fern shook her head and hid behind the Doctor more. Rose saw her discomfort and decided to leave her be.

"Mom, this is Fern, we rescued her."

"Is she an alien?"

"Um...I can't answer that." Rose turned her head to the Doctor, "Doctor?"

"I ran a scan on her when she first came into the T.A.R.D.I.S., she's human." The Doctor said putting a hand on Fern's head and smiling down on her. Fern smiled back. Her smile broke away when she started coughing, horribly.

"Fern, are you alright?" She nodded while coughing.

"C'mon, let's take her back to the apartment, we'll take care of her there." Rose's mom said.

When they got in the apartment, the Doctor made Fern lay down on Rose's old bed. Everyone was in Rose's room and was waiting for the Doctor to make a diagnosis about what was wrong with her. The Doctor pulled out his sonic and scanned Fern. He stopped and looked at it.

"Oh, you'll be fine. You just gotta terrible case of the flu is all." The Doctor said, smiling at Fern, who was on the verge of sleeping. "Now, just get some rest." Rose's mother left the room along with Rose. The Doctor stayed behind and looked at the now sleeping Fern. "Sleep tight." And he left the room, closing the door behind him silently.

''Are you sure she's alright?'' Rose asked as they all gathered in the kitchen.

''She'll be alright, really. It's just that if she's not treated, the case could get worse, and she could get pneumonia.''

''Oh my God.'' Jackie said.

''Yah, so we gonna have to keep her here and take care of her.''

''If she gets pneumonia, would it be, fatal?'' The Doctor looked at Rose sadly.

''She's still in the state we found her in, which is very bad. If she did get pneumonia, she would most likely die.''

Rose put her hand over her mouth.

''Will there be anything we can do?'' Jackie asked.

''All we can do, is only hope.''
