Now this...

This question has been a bit of a... it's caused some consternation.

There have been a heluva lot of comments stating that Layla needs to get over herself really soon and just do it with Yaaseen because he's a guy and he "has needs".

(Just by the way- I will totally get to replying to all your lovely comments really soon!)

Here's the thing....

Why are guys always portrayed as mindless sex maniacs. Like, if they don't get sex NOW and NOW, they'll burst into flames and die.

I feel as if we just don't give guys enough credit. They're more than capable of feeling other things besides crazy lust. They can feel affection and love and honour and adoration and if it called for it, I'm sure he could have a little patience to wait just a little while for his partner to be there in that space with him.

Yes, men's libidos are much more straight forward but they're also capable of making moral and sound judgements.

Also, what about women's needs? Women most certainly want sex too. Scientifically speaking, women can love and want sex just as much as men just... it plays out a little differently sometimes.

Why shouldnt Yaaseen wait for Layla to feel happy with herself. After something as traumatic as what she's been through and considering just how much she hates herself, wouldn't it be selfish of Yaaseen to demand sex? He loves her. He's loved her all his life. He's loved her even more in the ten years that she wasn't in his life and now all of a sudden, he's going to forget his love just for sex? He's going to make her feel so uncomfortable just because "he has needs"? Are women so unimportant that their needs and their desires should come second?

They'll have sex. They'll definitely have a bunch of crazy sex one day and for the rest of their lives but...

Well, Yaaseen has waited 10 long years, he can wait a little while longer
