2020 - Five Days to Forever

November 2020

The sun had just began to rise when the small plane slowly made its descent towards their destination.

Looking at the window to his left, he could finally make out the blue ocean amidst the clouds. And in the heart of that was the island.

They were here. Days from now it'll finally happen.

Jungkook lightly squeezes the hand he had kept secured through out the five hour journey. He basks at the feeling of contentment that had enveloped him since they had declared themselves to the public.

They had gone to several dates since then, undisguised except for their hats and unbothered by the people staring pointedly at them.

The blatant picture and video taking had been plenty during the first week, but eventually it had lessened as the days passed. It's either people had learned to be more discrete or the public had gotten used to seeing them together.

He chose to believe it was the latter.

Jungkook could only hope, because seeing them together like that was gonna be a daily and forever kind of thing.

He slightly squints at the sunlight hitting him and immediately raises his arm, covering Lisa's eyes with the shadow of his hand so as not to disturb her nap.

Jungkook fondly gazes at his fiancée, her head comfortably resting on her cooky pillow. And like always, since the day he proposed, his eyes trail towards their entwined hands. Hers specifically.

The strong sunrays hit the stones of Lisa's ring, making them glint, assuring him that this wasn't a dream.

And then he full on smiles, the one she loves so much, knowing that soon the ring won't be lonesome in a few days.

Because in five days it would be joined by another band that would match his own. And Jungkook could not wait for it.

The plane slightly bumps as the wheels touched the ground and Jungkook moves his hand to trace the bridge of her nose. He couldn't help the soundless chuckle when she cutely crinkles them in response to his feathery touch.

"Time to wake up sleepy head," he whispers.

Lisa only grumbles, unwilling to open those doe eyes and instead moves her head to rest on his shoulder.

"Come on love, we've arrived." He lightly nudges her before relaxing on his seat as he awaits for the seat belt sign to turn off.

And minutes later when it finally does, he knows, feeling the familiar weight on his shoulder, that she has yet to wake.

When he sees Jimin hyung and Taehyung hyung pass by their seats he calls out to them softly. "Hyungs, can you please..." he gestures to the bag in front of him and Lisa.

When his members look at the bride-to-be sleeping soundly on their dongsaeng's shoulder, they both broke into indulgent grins before taking their carry on bags.

Eventually everyone had boarded off the plane, luggages carted off to their rooms, leaving them alone in the small cabin.

Jungkook had already given up and let Lisa have her sleep, pulling the window blind half down and waits for his sleeping beauty to wake on her own. Though a kiss might do the trick like it did in those story books, he instead opened his laptop and plugged his headphones in to do some video editing.

Lisa deserved the shut eye as she had been more stressed than him, worrying over the wedding details. It was the reason why they had gone out more than usual, to de-stress and not for media play like what most speculated.

Jungkook had not expected Lisa to be the typical bride who wanted to always be on top of things. He had known her to be chill, going with the flow. The exception had been when it comes to her craft, but apparently as he discovered in the last few months, also extended to their wedding.

It had been nerve wracking when she had first asked for his opinion especially as the movie, Bride Wars, his hyungs had jokingly made him watch was still fresh on his mind.

For a moment he wondered if she genuinely wanted his opinion or if she just wanted him to say what she wanted to hear.

Thank heavens for small miracles because his Lalisa was far from the bridezilla those movies portray.

"Babe, what color scheme should we go for?"

She had made him choose between some shade of blue or yellow.

He unconsciously drew his brows together, his stare unblinking as he contemplates deeply as if he was asked to solve a fuckibg math problem.

Jungkook knew how fond she was of the color yellow but he also thought of something else. So he bit his lip, unsure of which answer he should voice out.

He wanted to call one of his hyungs for help, or maybe his unnies would be a better bet.

So now he needs to think up of some believable excuse to do just that.

Before he can, he feels her hand squeezing his, wanting his attention. And he gave it to her.

"Kook-ah, this is OUR wedding. I want this day filled with details decided by us and not just me. So tell me honestly what you think, hm?"

So just like that, he had been involved in everything except for her dress. That one she was saving as a surprise for their actual wedding.

All of his day offs and breaks had been dedicated to helping Lisa with the wedding. His friends and hyungs had teased him about being so whipped but he only shrugged it off. He can't exactly dispute something that's true.

He was still lost in his editing when he felt the weight on his shoulder disappear. Jungkook looks at the eyes he had fallen so hopelessly for and greets her with a good morning that she drowsily returns.

Looking at her surroundings Lisa wonders, "where's everyone else?"

"Probably in their rooms resting," he answers nonchalantly.

"What?! Oh my god I'm so sorry." She abruptly stands up, frantically pulling him towards the door that would lead them out. But being stronger than her, he didn't let her.

"Jungkook!" She calls his name in exasperation, thinking about all the things that needs to get done before the wedding.

As crazy as it was, they chose the place purely because of it's exclusivity despite it's jarring inexperience of holding weddings or banquets of any kind. Though the establishment had made an exemption for them, agreeing to cater for their small party, they were left with the headache of providing what they lacked. And they lacked a lot of essentials needed for a wedding.

With that thought, she wanted to get ahold of her bag where her phone was, needing to confirm with Amanda unnie if everything was ready to be flown in tomorrow.

Chae's interior designer cousin had been a god send to the couple through out this whole thing. She had helped them with all the arrangements, renting and buying everything they needed in Australia, basically acting as their wedding coordinator.

She has a knack for it too. And though they had offered her various forms of compensation for her efforts, she had graciously declined all of them claiming she had always wanted to try this niche at least once.

But because most had been done either in Australia or on this tiny island, they still need much to prepare for.

In five measely days.

She really needed that phone asap.

Lisa sighed in relief when she heard Jubgkook close his laptop and saw him stand up. But instead of walking towards the exit like she was, he instead pulled her to him, hugging her from the back.

"Kook-ah," she whispers in defeat knowing he won't let go until he feels like it.

"Relax love. As far as I know, the only thing on our agenda today is the food tasting at noon. We have plenty of time before that. So what we will do is rest in our private villa, maybe get a massage or drink a glass of champagne in the jacuzzi. Let's not think about the things that are not here yet. Besides, didn't noona tell us that she has everything handled?"

Lisa reluctantly nods and explains lowly, "I just want everything to be perfect."

Jungkook slowly lets go and turn her to face him. He cups her tiny face in his big hands. And when she thought her heart hitched dangerously at his action, it was nothing compared to when he whispered the words that had calmed her mind but wrecked havoc to her heart.

"Baby it will be perfect even if there's sand on my steak or if we don't have enough shoreline and end up being soaked to our knees during the whole ceremony. It will be perfect because at the end of it, we will be each others. You, my wife. And I, your husband. Everything else are just details doll."

Somewhere in between his speech they had gotten closer, their foreheads touching each others. Lisa closed her eyes, breathing in his comforting scent that was purely Jeon Jungkook. Her best friend. The love of her life. Her soon to be husband.
