Alene has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

DID is a disorder where you have multiple personalities you switch between, often combined with memory loss, and not being able to remember information you got as your 'other' personality.

There is also a phenomenon where you, because of trauma, create a stronger, more confident and more dangerous version of herself. This part of you is unexplainably often murderous, and this often ends with the 'Alter Ego' killing someone, while the original 'Ego' doesn't have a memory of this.

(I can't seem to remember the name of this phenomenon; my best friend showed me a few fragments of a documentary and explained it to me in full detail, but I somehow don't remember the name for it.)

Alene probably has suffered a trauma when she was young, even before she was found by Scottie, and created a version of herself that was stronger, but more dangerous at the same time.

This second personality became her Second Player, and only surfaces when she gets upset, is really tired, or sees something that triggers her (like her family getting hurt).

Alene was created during (and by) a volcanic eruption. Because of this, she breathed in a lot of smoke. This caused her to almost fade away instantly, but she barely held on. This is the cause of a severe asthma she still struggles with, though it is improving.

This might as well also have been the cause of her DID. That would also explain why there is no Second Player: the accident happened right after her birth as a country, so her 2P became the personality she created as a result of the trauma.

Alene was a viking, and occasionally travelled with Maria and Mathias, however she never got involved with anything involving America, because she didn't want to travel that far, and she also didn't like fighting as much as Maria and Mathias, and from what she'd heard, the Natives were strong fighters.

Alene is the oldest sibling after Maria, and she is also the most mature one of all of them.

On multiple occasions, she has had to fix problems for Maria because Maria was too lazy to do it herself, or it involved Sabel. For some reason, Maria has zero control over Sabel, whereas the Capital will actually listen if Alene tells her to shut up.

Alene can play: the acoustic guitar, the electric guitar, and the bass.

The instruments she wants to learn someday are: the drums, the piano, and the ukulele.

There is not a single person Alene hates more than Karah. There is also not a single person she would rather kill. However, she knows that when Karah dies, Maria will die too.

Alene has a boyfriend: Thomas. The two balance eachother out as Alene tells Thomas to work harder and Thomas tells Alene to slow down and enjoy life a bit.

There are three things Alene enjoys the most:

Sleeping,
Reading,
Practicing her magic.

She does do everything she needs to do however and doesn't like procrastinating, however she gets distracted easily by books lying around.

Alene hates the Harry Potter books as she finds it 'childish'.

She does like Divergent, the Maze Runner, and The Hobbit and the Lord Of The Rings, and practically anything fantasy.

She is very interested in Greek, Roman and Egyptian Mythology, as it is less like Norse and Germanic Mythology.

Norse and Germanic Mythology are pretty much the same, with the exception of names of gods and creatures.

Roman, Greek and Egyptian Mythology are all a bit alike, but very different from Norse and Germanic Mythology.
