Sprinting at the highest velocity my legs could muster, I dashed through the hindering wind, cutting it in halves, the full length of my feet barely touching the ground. Sweats trickled down my skin like drops of rain and fell on the tall grass underneath, mingling with the fresh dew drops that hung from the green edges, to eventually cascade down on the earth together. The sky above was tinted with a bright shade of purple and a tinge of orange peeped from behind a distant cloud. Dawn was just round the corner.

A bitter cold breeze brushed past my skin making my tows curl up inside my worn out boots but that didn't retard my motion a bit as I was not in the position of doing anything as such. Taking a quick glance behind I noticed I was still being chased by two men carrying huge swords and that only increased my determination to run as fast as the breeze itself.

And within seconds I reached where I was supposed to, a small plateau holding a silver sword that shone the brightest under the fresh golden rays.

Now was the time to slow down and I did exactly that before dragging my feet into a quick turn, around the high land while picking up the sword at the same time. The wet grass made my feet skid a little which only made my turn easier and just like that, I was now facing my opponents with my weapon held high.

There was a small pause in the curriculum. With both the sides staring each other down intently, and waiting for the other to rain the first offence, I stole a quick glace at the weapon in my hand. I could clearly see my face on the spotless blade, and the concoction of dirt and sweat that sheathed my skin honestly appealed to me more than any possible shade of bronzer.

Once again I began my course, but to the opposite direction this time. It took me just a few steps to meet the two men at the centre of the field and as soon as they were in my vicinity, I swung my sword hard, impaling one right through his chest. The man immediately fell to the ground, shaking with intense spasms before halting completely. I wanted to stand over his still body and swoon over my victory but I could see from the corner of my eye that the other one was charging right at me and I dodged just in time before his sword could sway right through my throat.

Pfff.....close call

Once more and with my resolution raging on deeper within me, I side-kicked the man on his arm making him lose his balance slightly which I took to my advantage and placed my sword right through his machine heart just like I did to his companion.

He too showed a similar reaction while I hovered over both the bodies, watching as a red sticky oil flowed out of their wounds along with some broken wires emitting electric sparks.

I won!

As the two bodies stilled on the ground, a clutter of thumping heels could be heard from behind and on turning around, I noticed a figure approaching me from a distance.

"2 minutes and 39 seconds, not bad but can be better" Amanda stated while clicking her heels all the way to my standing self. Clad in a white lab coat over a decent white short dress and a pair of red boots, the 27 year old lady looked barely 19. Her long blond hair coursed down like a torrent of silky waves and her milky white skin shimmered golden under the rising sun. A small smile danced on her red tinted lips making her look ethereal and the wind tossed her hair into buoyant curls revealing the prominent emblem on the flawless skin of her neck, a mark that read "Jeonsa", meaning "Warrior" in hangul.

"Only two seconds faster? Damn it, I need to run harder!" on hearing my formalist command, a soft laughter escaped Amanda's mouth, and I watched as she closed her file before taking one more step towards me.

"You need to cut yourself some slack Jackie. Two minutes or not, you are still one of the fastest runners in the camp. So stop whining and be proud of yourself" she placed a couple of mellow pats on my shoulder making me smile. She then gave me a reassuring nod and a fire of resolution lightened up my heart, the one that burned with the fuel of my vengeful intentions. All my life I had believed that I was born with a grave purpose, which is, to avenge all those tears my mother had shed ever since my father's ordained demise and with every move I make through out my days, I try to make sure that I'm one step closer to fulfilling that very purpose of mine.

"Even with only two seconds of progress, the camp is going to be thrilled to involve you in the next mission" Amanda's words propelled me out of my train of thoughts and I responded with a deep sigh and a grateful nod.

"Finger's crossed..."

Jackie, aka Jackline Rosalinda Blue, is a normal 19 year old girl. However, her life is far from being normal. Born and brought up in a small camp near the outskirts of Seoul, by the banks of Han River, the teenage girl has barely had a fun childhood like you and I.

Like any other children in the camp, Jackie was overwhelmed with the responsibility of bringing justice to her people since the very day she was born. Why? Because Camp Fortress was nothing but a refugee camp. The camp hid innocent people from the cruel eyes of the evil dictator Daniel who, over the years, has managed to take over Korea.

And the very same camp also trained its children to one day being strong enough to vanquish that dictator.

Every soul in the camp has grown up to hate their esteemed ruler, after all every one of them had lost something or the other to that man, if nothing then freedom for sure. And for Jackie, it's her father.

Even though she had never seen her father, the poor man lost his life even before his daughter could blink her first in this world, she still witnessed the pain in her mother's eyes and those tears are what invigorates her to push herself harder and harder each day.

Just like any other refugee in the camp, Jackie wants nothing more than to bring Daniel down once and for all. She wants to roam about freely in the world outside the protective barriers of the camp, she wants to lead a life like any other teenage girl, wants to go to school, wants to have her own room.

However Daniel isn't like any other antagonist whom you can overpower with strength and capital. His weapon is something which is way more lavish, and that is his deep knowledge and passion for science.

Yes, Daniel is a scientist, an evil scientist greedy for power...
