CHAPTER SIX » GUNS
"Not so cocky now, are you?"

"You got some balls for a Chinaman." Daryl commented as he loaded his crossbow.

"I'm Korean."

"Whatever."

"Hey." I grabbed Glenn's arm. "Good luck."

He smiled. "Thanks"

Glenn, who wasn't doing a good job at hiding his nerves, headed down the street whilst Daryl and I hid and waited.

I noticed someone starting to head down the alley and caught Daryl's attention, motioning to the person.

Daryl jumped out from behind the trashcan and pointed the crossbow at them.

"Whoa, don't shoot me!" The guy held his hands up in a surrender position. "What do you want?"

"I'm looking for my brother." Daryl said. "He's hurt real bad. You seen him?"

"Ayúdame!"

"Shut up! You're gonna bring the geeks down on us." Daryl hissed. "Answer me." He commanded. "Answer me!"

"Ayúdame! Ayúdame! Ayúdame!"

"Shut up!"

"Help! Help!"

"Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up."

Two other men approached the alley and I quickly hid further back in the shadows.

They ran down the alley and they seemed to have their sights set on Daryl.

I cursed, coming out of my hiding place and hitting one of them on the head with the butt of the gun.

"Bitch!"

I narrowly dodged a hit but stumbled back against someone.

"Woah."

I spun around, seeing Glenn looking insanely confused.

"That's it. That's the bag, Vato. Take it! Take it!" One of the men exclaimed.

I stood in front of Glenn as the guy started to run towards us to grab the bag of guns.

"Shit!" I pushed Glenn back but he paused. I looked behind him to see that walkers were blocking the exit.

"For christs-"

I felt a sharp blow on my head and stumbled to the ground.

I heard a yell of pain and looked up to see an arrow sticking out of one of the guy's backside.

"Get off me! Get off me!" I heard Glenn yell.

I scrambled up to fight back but they were already dragging Glenn out the gate.

"Blaire! B! Daryl! Daryl!" My best friend screamed as a car pulled up.

"Glenn! Glenn!"

"Blaire!"

They pushed Glenn into the back just as I reached the gate, my fingers hooking around the metal.

"Wait!"

"Come back here, you sumbitches!" Daryl yelled, running over.

I started to slip through the gate but came face to face with a walker.

"Shit."

Daryl grabbed me and pulled me back but I tried to fight against him.

He slammed the gate shut just before the walkers got to us.

"Dammit!" I slammed my hand against the wall. "Fuck you Daryl!"

"Fuck me? What the hell did I do?!" He exclaimed, his arms extended to emphasise his confusion.

"You should have let me go after the car!"

"You would have died, be grateful bitch!"

"Screw you!" I turned to look at the guy on the floor. "And you? You stupid asshole I'm gonna rip your damn head off!"

"Woah, woah, woah" Rick and T-Dog came running over. "Stop it."

Daryl kicked the guy on the floor. "I'm gonna kick your nuts up in your throat!"

"Let me go!"

"In your dreams, you are a dead man!" I snapped.

"Chill out!" T-Dog said.

"They took Glenn!" I exclaimed, my voice cracking from the whirlwind of emotions I was feeling.

"That little bastard and his little bastard homie friends." Daryl added. "I'm gonna stomp your ass!"

"Guys! Guys! We're cut off!" T-Dog exclaimed, indicating to the herd of walkers.

"Get to the lab. Go."

"Come on. Damn, let's go." Daryl dragged the boy up.

I looked back at Rick as he picked up the bag of guns and his hat.

"Hurry! Let's go!"

~

"Those men you were with, we need to know where they went." Rick said.

"I ain't telling you nothing."

I stepped forwards. "You wanna bet? You're lucky you're not dead!" I snapped. "Yet."

He laughed half-heartedly. "And what are you gonna do, sweetheart?"

Quickly and swiftly, I pulled out my knife and shoved it under his throat.

"Tell me where your dickhead friends took Glenn or I will not hesitate to slit your throat."

Rick placed his hand over mine, directing the knife back down to my side.

"Blaire, calm down."

"Jesus, man. What the hell happened back there?" T-Dog looked between Daryl and I.

"I told you-" Daryl glared at the kid as he stepped closer to him. "This little turd and his douche bag friends came out of nowhere and jumped me."

"You're the one who jumped me, puto!" The kid defended. "Screaming about trying to find his brother like it's my damn fault!"

"They took Glenn. Could have taken Merle too." Daryl pointed out.

The boy chuckled. "Merle? What kind of hick name is that? I wouldn't name my dog Merle."

Daryl started to speed over to the kid but Rick grabbed him.

"Damn it, Daryl. Back off."

Daryl glanced at Rick before he reached into the backpack and pulled out Merle's hand.

"Want to see what happened to the last guy that pissed me off?" He threw the hand next to the boy, who screamed and backed away. "Start with the feet this time."

Rick grabbed Daryl again and held him back whilst I watched in amusement.

"Not so cocky now, are you?" I asked, crossing my arms.

I received a glare from the boy in response.

"The men you were with took our friend. All we want to do is talk to them, see if we can work something out." Rick said.

~

We found out the kids name was Miguel. We also found out that his group were in this hideout somewhere. We then convinced him to take us there and to 'G.'

"You okay, little man?" The man, obviously the one Miguel was talking about, stepped out of the doors.

"They're gonna cut off my feet, carnal."

The guy glanced behind Miguel to look at Rick. "Cops do that?"

"Not him. This redneck puto here." Miguel pointed at Daryl. "He cut off some dude's hand, man. He showed it to me."

"Shut up." Daryl snapped.

"Hey, that's that Vato right there, homes." Another guy came out. "He shot me in the ass with an arrow. What's up, homes, huh?"

"Chill, ese, chill. Chill." Guillermo said, holding up his hand. "This true? He wants Miguelito's feet? That's pretty sick, man."

"We were hoping more for a calm discussion." Rick said.

"That hillbilly jumps Felipe's little cousin, beats on him, threatens to cut off his feet, Felipe gets an arrow in the ass and you want a calm discussion?" Guillermo asked, shaking his head. "You fascinate me."

"Heat of the moment. Mistakes were made on both sides."

G glanced at Daryl. "Who's that dude to you anyway? You don't look related."

"He's one of our group, more or less. I'm sure you have a few like him."

"You got my brother in there?" Daryl asked.

"Sorry, we're fresh out of white boys. But I've got Asian. You interested?"

Angrily, I stepped forwards, but Rick grabbed my arm.

"I have one of yours, you have one of mine. Sounds like an even trade." Rick said.

"Don't sound even to me."

"G. Come on, man."

"My people got attacked." G said, ignoring Miguel. "Where's the compensation for their pain and suffering? More to the point, where's my bag of guns?"

"Guns?" I asked.

"The bag Miguel saw in the street. The bag Felipe and Jorge were going back to get. That bag of guns." G explained.

"You're mistaken." Rick said.

"I don't think so."

"About it being yours. It's my bag of guns."

"The bag was in the street. Anybody could come around and say it was theirs. I'm supposed to take your word?" Guillermo asked. "What's to stop my people from unloading on you right here and now and I take what's mine?"

The men around him started to pull up their guns.

"You could do that. Or not." Rick indicated to the roof where T-Dog had a sniper rifle pointed right at G.

"Oye!" G shouted.

I looked up to see two men on the roof, holding Glenn. My heart fell.

"Oh my god" I mumbled, looking at my terrified best friend.

"I see two options. You come back with Miguel and my bag of guns, everybody walks. Or you come back locked and loaded, we'll see which side spills more blood."

The group headed back into the hideout and shut the door without another word.

~

Rick unzipped the bag of guns and started to divide them.

"Them guns are worth more than gold. Gold won't protect your family or put food on the table. You're gonna give that up for that kid?" Daryl questioned, pacing up and down.

"If I knew we'd get Glenn back, I might agree. But you think that Vato across the way is just gonna hand him over?" T-Dog asked.

"You calling G a liar?" Miguel argued.

"Are you a part of this? You want to hold onto your teeth?" Daryl slapped Miguel hard across the face.

"Question is, do you trust that man's word?" T-Dog said.

"No, the question is, what are you willing to bet on it? Could be more than them guns. Could be your life." Daryl pointed out. "Glenn worth that to you?"

"He's worth it to me." I spoke up. "I can't count the amount of times Glenn has saved my ass. I'm not leaving without him. We're getting him back whether you like it or not."

"Oh, and who said you could call the shots, sweetheart?" Daryl replied.

"I am this close to punching you in the face" I held up my fingers with an inch of space between them.

"Guys stop!" Rick proclaimed. "What life I have, I owe to him. I was nobody to Glenn, just some idiot stuck in a tank. He could have walked away, but he didn't. And neither did Blaire. So I won't walk away from him. And I won't walk away from Blaire when I know damn straight that she'll risk her life to go into that place alone to get Glenn back."

"So you're gonna hand the guns over?"

"I didn't say that." Rick said. "There's nothing keeping you here. You should get out, head back to camp."

"And tell your family what?" T-Dog asked.

Rick paused, glancing between the three of us.

I raised an eyebrow, holding my stare.

Rick sighed, obviously giving in.

"Come on, this is nuts." Miguel spoke up. "Just do like G says."
