Chapter Five
Tyler woke up the next morning wrapped in Joshua's arms.
It was the most peaceful, comforting, safest thing he'd ever felt. He knew in Josh's arms, nothing could happen to him. He was protected.
"You're so handsome, Joshua," he said quietly as he softly ran his fingers through Josh's hair. "I'm so glad we're dating now."
He really wanted to do something special for his boyfriend. He wanted Josh to make sure he knew he was doing this because he liked him, not because he just wanted someone to help him out whenever he needed it.
So he made his way to the edge of the bed, getting into his wheelchair before heading to the kitchen to start making breakfast.
He made everything he could think of and double everything Josh had ever said he'd liked for breakfast.
Josh woke up, at first confused as to why he wasn't in his own room, but he soon smiled as he saw Tyler's shirt at the end of the bed, both boys having ditched them before falling asleep.
He got up and went to the kitchen to find Tyler humming beautifully as he prepared all different kinds of foods.
"Good morning, beautiful Tyler," he grinned as he leaned downward and hugged his boyfriend's neck from behind.
"H-hi Joshie," Tyler giggled shyly. "I-I made you breakfast."
"I see," Josh smiled. "It looks absolutely amazing."
"I-I hope it tastes okay."
The boys sat at the kitchen table across from each other.
"I-it's nice having someone to sit with during meals," Tyler giggled quietly. "Typically j-just Daisy and I sit here."
Daisy was Tyler's cat. He loved her a lot.
"It's quite nice sitting across from such a beautiful sight," Josh grinned before taking a bite of his meal.
"Oh my goodness, Tyler! This is amazing!" He exclaimed. "This is the best thing I've ever had! How'd you make this??"
"T-they're just pancakes," Tyler giggled.
"They're amazing! You didn't tell me you were a chef!"
Tyler blushed and shrugged. "I-I've always cooked when I'm bored. I-I guess I've learned a few things here and there."
Josh smiled as Tyler wheeled over right next to him so they could sit together while they ate.
"You're so cute," Josh grinned, rubbing his nose against Tyler's. "Do you know that?"
"Y-you're cuter."
"Not frickin' possible," Josh chuckled.

That night, Josh decided he was going to take Tyler out on a date.
He pushed Tyler in his chair the whole way to the theatre, Tyler's apartment being right in the middle of the city where everything was within a few blocks.
Tyler just looked down at his lap every time people stared.
"I-I'm sorry," he said to Josh.
"Sorry? For what?"
"A-all the stares."
"Hey, don't apologize. Don't feel bad, either, Ty. It doesn't bother me one bit. They're all just jealous their boyfriends aren't half as cute as you."
Tyler smiled shyly and blushed.
Josh grinned and pulled off to the side, stepping in front of Tyler and leaning downward to kiss his lips softly. "See? Even more people are staring now," he giggled. "And I'm perfectly okay with it!"
Tyler giggled shyly and reached out, hugging Josh's neck. "You're so sweet."
"Not half as sweet as you, my dear," he smiled before getting back behind Tyler and continuing to push.
Once they got Ty situated in the theatre, Josh headed to the concession stands to load up on candy and drinks.
"Look, Ty!" He exclaimed as he returned. "They have the mixture icees!!"
Tyler giggled and blushed at his boyfriend's loud excitement.
"T-thank you, Joshie."
"Oh, and I know you said you only wanted one candy, but they had skittles and airheads and you said those are tied for your favorite candy so I got you both."
Tyler giggled even more and buried his face in Josh's neck. "Thank you."

After the movie, the boys headed back to Tyler's apartment. Once Tyler was in bed and comfy, Josh spoke up.
"I guess I better get going," he sighed. "I've got work tomorrow. I'm gonna miss you soooooooo much."
Tyler pouted and hugged Josh tightly. "I'm gonna miss you too."
"I'll come back over tomorrow night," Josh said. "Don't you worry."
Tyler giggled and nodded, smiling as Josh kissed his lips.
"I love you, Tyler."
"I love you too, Joshua."
"Goodnight, baby."
But neither of the boys had any plans of falling asleep.
They texted until three in the morning, arguing over who love who more.
This was exactly what both boys had dreamed of for as long as they could remember.
True love.
