It hurt. My body hurt a lot when I fell from Eden. This pain was one of the worst kind of pain I have ever felt. The lifeforce inside me that once burned as bright as the sun was left to the size of a candle. That was, perhaps, the most foolish decision I've ever made. But I had no regret about it. Because I had finally found her.

My consciousness that was hazy brightened up when I thought about that person. A part of me refused to believe that such a coincidence can really happen. I was afraid that I was having hallucinations at my final moments.

But all the doubts dissipated the moment she touched my wing and caressed it. That moment, in my heart, I knew she was the one I have been searching for. I can never forget her unique presence.

Her caress was so soothing that it made all the pain fade away. I so much wanted to see her, but I realized that I could not open my eyes. I so wanted to touch her, but my hand didn't respond. I couldn't feel my limbs. I felt so helpless that it was suffocating. Why must life be so cruel to me? She was so close and yet so far.

It would take a few days to replenish my lifeforce and heal my broken body. I had no choice but to endure the helplessness until then. I guess that was my punishment for forgetting my promise.

But as long as she was by my side, I will always be all right.
