Chapter 21: Our type of training
Alice p.o.v.
I rolled over to the other side of my bed. I was really tired after everything that happened yesterday.
You can't blame me, I needed my rest.
Today was my first day of training. Pretty exciting right?
With that thought in mind, I stood up, put on a pair of slippers that I borrowed from Eliza, and walked out of my room.
I sighed and a strand of hair fell in front of my eye, I tucked it behind my ear and started making my way towards the dining room, closing the door behind me.
Then confusion washed over me.
Nobody was sitting at the table, there were no dishes or any sign that someone might have had breakfast here.
Strange.
I took a few steps further into the room and looked around, hoping to find someone here anyway.
No sign of people though.
I sighed again and walked out of the room.
Where could they be? I'm pretty sure they aren't asleep anymore..
Then a thought popped into my mind.
Training..early..morning..
Then it hit me. They probably have gone training..
I gasped and ran down the stairs. A lot of stairs. I still didn't really know where to find everything in this whole base, but I better get used to it soon.
After walking down many stairs, I finally reached a metal door.
I put my hand on the door and pushed against it, it opened.
I'm pretty sure I looked like a complete idiot. Since I always looked like a zombie in the morning. Story of my life.
Everybody was doing something different, to improve their technique.
Eliza was climbing up a wall, using her ability to land on the floor afterwards.
Duncan and Anthony were firing fire balls at each other, it looked a little like Kung-fu, but with fire included.
White was bringing Jess blocks of wood for her to burn.
Where was Silver though? I walked into the big training hall where I saw everybody doing their type of training.
I then noticed a familiar red head sitting on a chair next to the blocks of wood.
I started walking towards Silver until something flashed right before my eyes.
"ALICE WATCH OUT!"
Without even knowing what was going on I tried to run and duck, but ended up tripping over my own feet.
I felt that my one of my feet didn't have a slipper anymore, and I fell onto my back.
"Damn it!" I groaned.
"I SAID WATCH OUT!"
A fire ball came flying towards me and I gasped, quickly trying to get up and get out of it's way.
Oh the poor slipper.
The fireball hit the slipper that apparently, flew a meter away from me by my failed 'ducking and run action'.
I sweatdropped.
Eliza came running towards me and looked at the burned slipper that was laying a few metres away from us.
"Never telling you to watch out again" Jess chuckled. "It brings bad luck!"
I turned to Eliza.
"Sorry for your slipper" I said, and stepped out of the one I had left.
"Well, at least I have one left" I chuckled.
Eliza bursted out laughing.
We ended up laughing for way too long.
Everybody went back to doing their thing and I sighed, my stomach hurting from laughing so much.
"Well, you are the first person to come and train in their pyjama's" Jess said, patting me on my shoulder.
My mouth formed a 'O' shape and walked towards White and Silver.
"Hey guys" I said, scratching the back of my head.
"Hey" White greeted me.
"Pyjama girl" Silver chuckled and pointed at me.
I shot him a glare. "First, it's just a t-shirt and legging, so not really an actual pyjama"
He ignored it and smirked.
"Why are you smirking?" I asked him, getting slightly annoyed.
"Whatever" He said.
"Whatever" I mimicked him with a high pitched voice.
"That's like the worst impression ever" He said.
"No, it matches you, lady" I stuck my tongue out at him.
"You did not just call me lady..!" Silver's eyes widened and he jumped up from the chair he was sitting on.
"Probably did" I shrugged.
"Take it back" He said and started walking towards me.
"Nope" I said, popping the 'P'.
Silver was about to say something until Duncan came walking towards us.
"Ready for your first training, Alice?" He winked.
"Sure" I smiled.
He guided me away from Silver and White.
Silver mumbled something and White laughed.
Duncan told me to stop and stand on a red circle that was painted on the floor.
I did as he said.
He did the same by stepping on the same kind of circle a few meters away from me.
"Let's test your skills" He said and fired a fire ball at me.
It took me too long to realize what he was doing and my body reacted by ducking to avoid it.
My eyes widened as another fireball was fired towards me.
This time I knew what he was doing.
My hands turned a golden orange colour and a beam of fire was created.
The beam shot towards the fireball and made it dissapear.
I smirked.
"Well, you sure are something" Duncan admitted.
"Oh, that's nothing" I stuck my tongue out at him and laughed.
He laughed and got into position.
"Alright then" He said.
I got into position and concentrated on my hands, something I always wanted to create, was blue fire. It was far from perfect though, but trying wouldn't hurt anyone.
My hands went from orange, to a blue colour, though, the orange came back sometimes.
I checked my breathing, stood in position and looked at Duncan.
Time seemed to stop for me.
I moved my hands back a little, and then, released a powerful beam of fire.
Though, it wasn't blue..
Duncan easily stopped the beam and smirked.
"What was that? Did you try to make a blue beam?" He asked, looking at me with an entertained look on his face.
"Well uuhmm yeah..But I never said that I could do it..I don't know if I ever will.." I said and crossed my arms over my chest and looked away.
When I looked back, Duncan was standing next to me.
"Don't say that. If anyone can do it, it's you. With a little practice everyday, you will be able to do it, trust me" He winked.
"Alright. What do I have to do to master it?" I asked him, a little sparkle of hope that I would be able to learn it.
"Do what I tell you to do" He answered and walked towards a wall, but this wall was yellow, unlike the other walls.
"EVERYONE WATCH OUT AND STAND BEHIND THAT LINE!" Duncan ordered, causing everyone to stand behind the line that was painted on the floor.
Duncan pushed against the wall and kicked it once.
You probably couldn't even imagine how cool this was to witness.
The wall, turned around, revealing a whole machine with a bunch of buttons.
I gasped at what happened after this.
The floor in front of us started shaking, I had to kneel down to prevent myself from falling onto my face.
The floor spinned around and a whole arena of rocks was created.
It looked like we were actually standing in a mountain landscape.
Duncan pushed a blue button and blocks of wood appeared at a few spots on the rocks.
My mouth formed an 'awe' shape and I stood up, looking at the cool scenery.
The rest of the people, except White and Silver, went back to doing their thing. Jess and Anthony walked out of the arena/hall, and Eliza, White and Silver stayed with me and Duncan.
"This, Alice. Is our type of training."
Eliza said and Duncan nodded in excitement.
