🌟 Chapter Twenty Nine 🌟
The Cold Trap
Sona's fury had only grown since the incident at Akshu's apartment. Seeing Abhi defend Akshu with such passion had ignited a dark determination within her—one that left no room for mercy. If she couldn’t have Abhi, then no one could, especially not Akshu.
Sona's mind raced with sinister plans, but she finally settled on one that was as chilling as it was deadly. She knew about the cold storage room in the old, abandoned factory on the outskirts of Mussoorie—a place no one visited anymore, a place where she could carry out her plan without interruption.
Late one night, Sona made her move. She had been watching Akshu for days, waiting for the perfect moment when she would be alone. When Akshu left her apartment to run an errand, Sona followed her in the shadows, her heart pounding with anticipation.
As Akshu walked down a quiet, deserted street, Sona sprang into action. With the help of a few hired thugs, she grabbed Akshu and quickly subdued her, binding her hands and covering her mouth to stifle her screams. Akshu’s eyes widened in terror as she realized what was happening, but she was powerless to stop it.
The thugs shoved Akshu into the back of a van, and Sona climbed in after her. As they drove to the abandoned factory, Sona’s mind raced with thoughts of revenge. This was it—the final act that would rid her of Akshu forever.
When they arrived at the factory, Sona’s men dragged Akshu inside and forced her into the freezing cold storage room. The icy air hit Akshu like a physical blow, and she shivered uncontrollably as the door slammed shut behind her. The darkness and the cold were suffocating, and Akshu knew she had only minutes before the cold would begin to claim her life.
Sona stood outside the cold storage room, a twisted smile on her lips as she listened to Akshu's muffled cries. “Goodbye, Akshu,” she whispered, her voice filled with malice. “Abhi will never find you here.”
But what Sona didn’t know was that Abhi had a deep, inexplicable connection with Akshu. Even when they were apart, he could always sense when something was wrong. That night, as he sat in his apartment, a sudden wave of dread washed over him—a feeling he couldn’t shake.
Something was wrong. Terribly wrong.
Abhi’s heart pounded in his chest as he tried to pinpoint the source of his anxiety. Then, it hit him—Akshu. He needed to find her. Without a second thought, he grabbed his keys and bolted out the door, following his instincts.
He drove through the dark streets of Mussoorie, his mind racing. Somehow, he knew exactly where to go—the old factory. He didn’t understand why, but the thought was like a beacon in his mind, pulling him toward it.
When he arrived at the factory, he didn’t hesitate. He forced his way inside, the cold air hitting him as he searched the building. Then, he heard it—a faint, desperate sound coming from deep within the factory. It was Akshu’s voice, weak and filled with fear.
Abhi’s heart nearly stopped. He raced toward the sound, finding the door to the cold storage room. Without a moment to lose, he threw his weight against it, breaking the lock and forcing it open.
The sight that greeted him made his blood run cold. Akshu was huddled in the corner of the freezing room, her body trembling violently from the cold. Her skin was pale, her lips blue, and her eyes filled with terror as she looked up at him.
“Akshu!” Abhi cried, rushing to her side. He pulled her into his arms, trying to warm her frozen body with his own. “I’ve got you, Akshu. I’m here.”
Akshu clung to him, her voice barely a whisper. “Abhi... I thought... I thought I was going to die.”
“Not on my watch,” Abhi murmured fiercely, lifting her into his arms. He carried her out of the cold storage room and out of the factory, his heart breaking at how fragile she felt in his arms.
He drove her back to her apartment, where he carefully laid her on the bed, wrapping her in blankets to warm her up. But the cold had already done its damage—Akshu’s body was still shaking, her teeth chattering as she tried to speak.
