😘 Chapter Fourteen 😘

The Rift

Manjiri had been relentless in her attempts to create a rift between Abhi and Akshu. She saw Akshu as an outsider, a threat to her influence over Abhimanyu, and she was determined to drive her away.

Manjiris manipulations were subtle at first, but they became increasingly bold. She would make snide remarks about Akshu's background, criticize her every move, and undermine her efforts to bond with Naina. Every interaction with Anjali left Akshu feeling more isolated and frustrated.

One evening, after yet another harsh encounter with manjiri, Akshu stormed into the bedroom she shared with Abhi. Her face was flushed with anger, her eyes bright with unshed tears. She began pacing back and forth, her hands clenched into fists.

Abhimanyu, who had just walked in, took one look at her and knew something was terribly wrong. "Akshu, what happened?"

"It's your mother!" she burst out. "She won't stop! She keeps finding new ways to belittle me, to make me feel like I don't belong here. I've had enough!"

He stepped closer, concern etched on his face. "What did she say this time?"

"She said I'm not good enough for you," Akshu spat out, her voice trembling with rage. "That I'll never be able to replace Naina's mother. She... she even hinted that I'm just here for your money!"

Abhimanyu's eyes darkened with anger, but he quickly suppressed it. He knew that reacting in anger wouldn't help. He reached out and took Akshu's hands in his, trying to calm her. "Akshu, listen to me. You know that's not true. I love you for who you are, not for any other reason."

But Akshu was too upset to be calmed so easily. She pulled her hands away and continued to pace, her anger boiling over. "How can you just stand there and let her say those things? Why don't you ever stand up to her?"

"I do stand up to her," Abhimanyu said quietly. "But she's my mother, and it's not always easy. I'm trying to find a way to keep peace while protecting you."

"Well, it's not working!" Akshu shouted, her frustration reaching a breaking point. "I'm tired of being treated like I'm not good enough!"

In her rage, she grabbed a small vase from the dresser and hurled it across the room. It shattered against the wall, the sound echoing in the tense silence that followed. Abhimanyu, seeing how distressed she was, knew he had to act quickly.

He stepped forward and, in one swift motion, pulled her into his arms. She struggled for a moment, but he held her firmly, his hands gently stroking her back. "Shh, it's okay," he murmured. "I'm here. We'll get through this together."

Still trembling with anger, Akshu tried to push him away, but he tightened his embrace. "Let me go, Abhi," she said, her voice muffled against his chest.

"No," he replied softly. "Not until you calm down."

In a desperate attempt to break free, Akshu looked up at him, her eyes blazing. But before she could say another word, Abhimanyu leaned down and captured her lips in a passionate kiss. The intensity of the kiss took her by surprise, and for a moment, she forgot her anger. She melted into him, her hands clutching his shirt as he deepened the kiss.

The kiss was both a promise and a plea. A promise that he would always be there for her, and a plea for her to trust him. As the kiss continued, the fire of her anger slowly began to slow down, replaced by a different kind of heat.

When they finally broke apart, both were breathless. Abhimanyu rested his forehead against hers, his eyes searching hers. "I love you, Akshu. We'll figure this out. I promise."

Tears welled up in Akshu's eyes, but this time they were tears of relief rather than anger. "I love you too, Abhi," she whispered. "I'm just so tired of fighting."

"I know," he said, his voice soothing. "But you're not alone. We'll face this together, and we'll come out stronger."

They stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, finding comfort and strength in their love. In that moment, they knew that no matter what challenges manjiri threw their way, they would face them together. Their bond was unbreakable, and their love was a fortress that no one could breach.

As the night wore on, they talked about their fears and frustrations, finding solace in each other's understanding. They made a pact to communicate more openly and to support each other no matter what. With their renewed commitment to each other, they felt ready to face whatever came next.
