Her eyes opened up on their own as the clock strike at seven in the morning. Kaya looked at her husband who was sleeping beside her. She moved to kiss his forehead and then got up from the bed. After getting ready for the day, she headed to the kitchen where she prepared breakfast for their family of four.

“Kaya!” She heard her husband call for her.

Putting the milk on low flame, she entered their bedroom where her sleepy husband was waiting for her. As Yug saw her enter the room he walked to her and pecked her lips before entering the bathroom.

Kaya shook her head at his unromantic kiss and went back to the kitchen. Soon her mother-in-law joined her.

“Good morning, Mumma!” She went to kiss her cheek.

Her both in-laws were in their mid seventies. They remained childless for twenty years of marriage before they conceived Yug. They raised their only child with outmost love and affection. And now they were pampering her for last five years.

Her mother-in-law sat down on the dining table as Kaya set the breakfast on the dining table.

Soon her father-in-law came to the dining table.

“Good morning, Papa.” 

“Good morning, beta. Where is Yug?” He asked while taking his seat on the head of the table.

Before Kaya could reply they saw Yug descending the stairs. He had his laptop bag hanging on his shoulder. As he neared the table, Kaya immediately took the laptop bag from him and put it in the living room. Yug just rolled his eyes at her action and sat down on the left of his father, facing his mother. Kaya came back and sat down beside him.

The elders had already started to eat their breakfast but Yug turned to look at Kaya's face.

“You didn't kiss me today.” He complained.

“I did. But you were asleep.” Saying so she put a Parantha in his plate and one in hers.

“That doesn't count. Kiss me again.” Yug demanded, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

“Eat, Yug.” She spoke and began with her breakfast.

Maybe I wanted to write short story about a married couple. I didn't even remember that I wrote this at some point.
