*It was the day of the race. Jade's parents had driven Cookie, Brindle, and Jade there. The car stops and everyone gets out.*
Jade: "Cookie, I don't want you to put to much hope in yourself."
Cookie: *Frowns.* "I promise that I'll win!"
*One of the guys running the race comes up to them.*
Guy: "Which one of you is running the race? Or did you come to watch someone?"
Jade: *Shakes her head.* "Cookie will be participating!" *Points down at the guinea pig.*
Guy: *Looks down at Cookie.* "Are you serious? Is this a joke?"
Jade: *Shakes her head.* "No. Cookie is participating."
Guy: *Laughs.* "Really!? A guinea pig! Her legs are barely an inch long! How could she run ten miles!?"
Cookie: *Gets angry.* "Listen up pal! If you think that you can just barge up to us and tell me that I can't race, you got another thing coming!"
Guy: *Snorts.* "Oh really? What are you gonna do about it, rat?"
Jade: *Smirks.* "You'll see."
Cookie: *Balls claws into fists. Growls. Jumps up to Guy and punches him repeatedly.*
Guy: *Screams and pulls Cookie off his face.*
Cookie: *Bites down hard on his hand.*
Guy: *Screams and drops Cookie.*
Jade: *Catches Cookie and smirks.*
Guy: *Runs away screaming.*
Cookie: "Let that teach you a lesson!"
*Another guy slowly approaches them. He holds a small guinea pig outfit with the letter five on it.*
Second Guy: "I have the uniform for Cookie."
Jade: *Sets Cookie down and grabs uniform.* "Thank you."
Second Guy: "You're welcome." *Walks away.*
Jade: *Puts uniform on Cookie.* "There you go!"
*It was made from white, stretchable fabric with a blue five on the front and back.*
Cookie: *Wrinkles her nose.* "I don't like the way this feels."
Jade: "You have to wear it to participate in the race. It's your racing uniform."
Cookie: *Sighs and nods.* "I know."
Mom: "I guess we better wait for the race to begin."
*The family found a place to sit and wait for the race while Cookie went to where all of the other racers went.*
