Why Her?

Aphmau

All I can do is wait. Wait for that time to tick down from one number to the next number. I sit myself down on the bed and wait. Every since we saw Jenny, Aaron has been spending time with her and it's been annoying just to hear Aaron talk all about her when he gets back. Most times I space out until he's done talking and pretend like I was listening when I wasn't.

He's gone all day and when he returns, it's already late. I wish this could all end but I won't. I cried myself to sleep thinking how all of this went to hell. I wish Aaron would just spend time with me instead of her. . .

I eyes awaken with felt like forever. Of course, Aaron is already gone to go hangout with Jenny. Sometimes, I'd wish we never met her. I get dressed and head downstairs when everyone else is gather. I see everyone turn their eyes on me when I enter. I get the usual "good morning's" or even "where's Aaron?" I tell them that he'll be back and they agree. I see the parents in the kitchen making breakfast and everyone seems to left me out. I wish I had someone to talk to.

"Hey Aphmau" I hear a spunky voice coming from behind me. I turn to see Melissa greeting me.

"Hey Melissa. . ." Melissa grows suspicious I see doesn't hear the usual tone of voice from me.

"Are you okay?" Her voice goes down a bit from her spunk.

"Yeah, why would I? I lie and laugh a bit.

"It's just your voice doesn't sound the same as usual times. . . Is something wrong?"

"Nothing wrong, Melissa" I try to lead her our that I was fine but I really wasn't.

"Aphmau, what's really wrong? You don't sound like your normal self" She tries to bring me out of my lying.

"I told you Melissa, I'm fine there's nothing wrong" I felt my voice go up a bit.

"C'mon Aphmau, you're not fooling anyone. I know you're lying, tell me what's wrong" She grabs my hand but I jerk away and turn away.

"Nothing wrong! Now leave me alone!" I screamed at her. She seems shocked when I screamed at her. I turn away and run away into my bedroom. I slid down the door and cried. I didn't mean to do that, I just couldn't control myself. Minutes later, I hear a knock on the door.

"Go away" I said to the knock.

"Aphmau" I hear Melissa. Her voice turn down a lot from when she greeted me.

"What do you want?" I said coldly.

"Can I come in?" She wanted to come in? After I screamed at her?

"Why?"

"I wanted to apologize for what I did" After hearing that, I stood up and let her in. She came in with a look of concern. I understand why when she looks at my eyes.

"Were you crying?"

"N-No" I turn away.

"Aphmau, I'm sorry for what I did and I know if you don't want to talk about it but I'm here for you if you need it" I looked back at her and hugged her. She seems surprised but hugged me back.

"Can I tell you what's been bothering me?" I look at her with insuring eyes.

"Of course"

"Okay then" I take her hand and led her to the bed. We sat down and I told her everything that was happening.

"So what's been bothering you?"

"Aaron been going out lately and when he returns, it's already late. I tried to talk to him about what was happening but he didn't listen. He's been going out with a girl we haven't seen in awhile. After that, he's been seeing her non-stop and it gets annoying when all he does is talk about her and only her. It's like I'm not even here or it's like I'm not even his girlfriend anymore. It's like she's his girlfriend now" I started crying after I told her what's been happening.

"Aphmau. . ." She hugs me.

"Why didn't you tell anyone about this?"

"Because I thought if I told them, they would tell Aaron and he would get mad me for what I said when it's true"

"Aphmau, you know he wouldn't get mad at you, especially for something like this"

"I know but it keeps bothering me when I think about like that"

"Aphmau, not everything in life is perfect. I know that everything will be okay if you just talk to him. If you don't it's just gonna keep eating at you. When you do tell him, something good will always happen at the end" She says to me softly. I feel a bit better after telling her this.

"Thank you Melissa"

"You're welcome, now I gotta go eat. If you don't want to eat I understand. I'll just tell the others that you're not feeling well"

"Again, thank you Melissa" She smiles. She gets up and before she turns the door knob, the door opens.

"Oh, hey Melissa, what are you doing here?" My eyes turn to the door where Melissa is standing. Is that Aaron?

"You should be ashamed of yourself" She flips her hair and walks out. I see Aaron walk in and close the door. He lands eyes with me.

"Hey Aphmau" What happened to babe, or Aph? I didn't look or response to him, I ignore him.

"It's kinda early for you to be here, don't you think?" I said coldly.

"Well, Jenny cancelled our plans since she had to do something else"

"Oh" I still didn't even look at him. I knew it was time to tell him.

"Why do you even hangout with her? You've been hangout with her non-stop and you don't even have time for me. You completely shut me out just to hangout with some girl"

"Aph, we haven't see each other in a long time, there's a lot of things we wanted to catch up with"

"What things Aaron! Last time I checked, you were the one who asked me to be your girlfriend"

"Aph, she's just a friend. Please don't take this the wrong way" He sighs while turning away from me. I stand up and run in front of him.

"No! I won't have this anymore!" I was already done with what's he's done.

"Aaron, the only thing you talk about is her when you get back and seems like I'm not here anymore. It's seems like I'm still with him" He went shocked when I mentioned him. I already had a waterfall falling from my eyes.

"Aph, please don't think that I don't love you anymore when I still do" He said quietly. He hugged me but I didn't hug back. I was too weak for this.

"Aaron. . ." I push away from him.

"I just need time to myself, I can't do this" Before I could walk away, Aaron grabs my wrist and pulls me into his hug again.

"No. Last time I did that, we broke up and I'm not letting that happen. Not again" He picks me up and puts me on the bed and hovers over me.

"Aphmau, I know you're mad at me for what I did but please. I promise I will make more time for you and only you" He says as he puts his forehead on mine.

"Okay. . ." He kisses me and I kiss back. He breaks the kiss and we lock eyes.

"I love you" He says. I smile a bit. After that, Aaron rests his head on my chest with his tail wrapped around my waist. His arms are also wrapped around me too. After awhile, I look down to see Aaron already asleep. I smile and fall asleep too with him on me.
