○ Ryuuji's P.O.V ○

I stood there, shocked at what I had just heard.

Why would she say that? Is she telling the truth?

No, it can't be. She's probably just lying. She might not even want me around. She's probably just scared she'll have no one to take care of her.

Wait, what the hell am I thinking! She's not that type of person.

I sighed loudly and scanned my surroundings. All clear.

I picked Aalia up and walked to find some safe place to rest.

It looked like we were deep in the forest. I sighed loudly and continued to walk.

I soon felt little drops of water falling on my head.

I smiled at the feeling of the cold water on my face as I continued to walk.

~ 20 minutes ~

I saw a steep hill.

"There might be a cave up there" I opened my wings slightly. They started hurting again, but I might be able to get us up there.

I slightly lifted off the ground and flew slowly to the top. The rain started to get heavier.

When I got to the top I saw a cave. I walked in and made sure it was safe. I gently laid Aalia on the ground.

Hopefully she'll be safe for a couple of minutes.

I flew down the hill to find some dry twigs and some food.

I was able to find a lot of twigs and leaves. I also managed to catch a few chickens.

When I got back Aalia was okay.

I lit a tiny fire and cooked the chicken.

I sat by Aalia and felt her forehead.

"She's getting really cold" I held her in my arms and used my fire to create some heat, I can't let her die.

I hugged her tightly and looked out the cave. It was raining hard and the sky was illuminated with the moons light that was hiding behind the clouds.

It seemed peaceful. I looked down at her and thought "if only we could enjoy it together" I gently stroked her hair and before I knew it, I was asleep.

~ earlier ~

○ Yumi's P.O.V ○

"You two! Use your demon powers to call Sebastian! He will notify A.T. and he will send someone to get Louis! Just escape and leave them to us!" Aalia yelled.

Junior grabbed Louis and we ran. I could hear the sound of swords and guns in the back, but I kept on running.

Since all the guards were focused on Aalia and Ryuuji there weren't any guarding the front door.

We ran out and stopped when we were far away from building.

We stopped to catch our breath. I closed my eyes and tried to summon Sebastian.

After five minutes of trying he finally arrived.

I told him that we caught Louis and he flew away. Soon a woman appeared out of nowhere and startled us.

"Eeeeeekkk!" I fell down.

"Heheh don't worry I'm with A.T" she smiled and helped me up.

"Do you have teleportation powers?" I asked.

"And telekinesis, also telepathy" she smiled. She picked up Louis. "Do you guys need help getting home?"

"I think we should wait for Aalia and Ryuuji." I said.

"Don't worry, they'll be fine. It's getting dark, this place isn't safe at night." She looked at me and Junior.

"Okay take us home" Junior walked to me.

The woman walked to us and soon we were at the mansion.

"Thank you guys for the help" and with that she was gone.

I went to the roof and laid down on the ledge. I looked up at the cloudy sky and I felt little drops of water on my face.

"Where are they? I hope they are okay"

I sighed and stayed there for a couple of hours.

○ Aalia's P.O.V ○

"Uhn where am I?" I rubbed my eyes and saw Alex in front of me.

"Ahh!"

"Don't be scared. I just wanted to apologize for my behavior a while ago" she looked down with a pained expression.

I smiled at her and said "I forgive you"

She smiled and hugged me. "Thank you thank you thank you!"

"Where am I? What happened?"

"It will take a while to explain"

I just nodded at her.

"Ever since you were changed, you have been trying to get rid of your abilities. You keep pushing them back, but if you don't learn to accept them you could get hurt"

"What do you mean?"

"If you don't accept the fact that you aren't human anymore, your powers could start fighting against your human side, and it will lead to death"

*gasp!* I was totally shocked at what I just heard.

"T-this can't be true"

"It is. The reason why you haven't woken up yet is because, when you healed Ryuuji you awoke your ghoul and demon side. You are still fighting them. Until you learn to stop, you won't wake up"

I looked down at my feet and thought. "but I still want to be human"

She walked to me and patted my back.

"Don't worry I know you'll be able to do it. You can't wake up, but you can see where your body is. You just won't be able to move. So you want to see?"

"Yes! Yes I do!"

I felt dizzy and my eyes shut. When I opened them I saw I was in a cave. I felt so....warm. It was raining hard. I felt something move. I was able to slightly look up and I saw Ryuuji sleeping. I smiled in my mind.

"He's always there to protect me. I'm glad he's in my life"

Suddenly I was zapped back to Alex. I felt a sharp pain in my head and grabbed it with both my hands.

The pain started getting worse. It now felt like somone was tearing my skull.

"Ahhhh!" The pain just kept on getting worse.

"W-w-what's happening?" I managed to say through the pain.

Alex looked at me with a serious expression "you keep fighting your powers and now you are feeling the pain"

I grabbed my head and fell to my knees.

"P-please help me. How do I reach out to my powers" I applied pressure to my head but that just made it worse.

"Give me your hands" she walked to me.

I hesitantly stuck out my hands and she grabbed them. We stood up and she closed her eyes and started chanting something.

She then looked at me. "Are you ready to face the fact that you can't hide your powers anymore"

I looked down "yes"

She smiled evily and started chanting again. Soon a pentagram was circling us. It was made up of blue flames. I immediately knew that my demon side was awakening.

Alexs' eyes had started glowing blood red. The pentagram shot out flames. Soon they were under my feet, but I didn't feel any pain.

Alex looked at me, her eyes still glowing, and stuck her nails into my hands.

"Err" the pain was excruciating. My blood dripped onto the pentagram and we were surrounded by a blue and white light.

I felt my body get lighter, and I knew I was waking up.

○ Ryuuji's P.O.V ○

I opened my eyes and saw that Aalia was glowing blue.

I laid her down on the floor gently and looked to see if she was okay. As I was about to reach my hand out to her, a blue light hit me and I hit the wall.

"Uhn" I fell down on the floor, landing on my back.

Aalia stood up, but her eyes were glowing a dark blue. She walked out of the cave and into the rain.

She stood still as a pentagram formed around her. All I could do was watch.

She started floating slightly and I heard a roar. Soon the light disappeared and she fell. I ran as quickly as possible and caught her.

Her eyes opened "Ryuuji?"

"Yeah, it's me. Are you okay?" I said softly.

"Yeah I'm fine" I helped her stand up.

I let go of her and she stretched. She then looked at me with a smile "I see you're fully healed. Looks like my powers did work"

I felt angry and I grabbed her and pulled her to me. I now felt sad.

"Don't ever do that agian! I was so scared that I had lost you." I whispered slightly.

○ Aalia's P.O.V ○

My eyes went wide as soon as he said that, but soon that expression was overthrown by a smile. I hugged him as tight as possible and whispered in his ear.

"I'll never leave you"

We stayed like that for about 5 minutes. I didn't want him to let go. He was so warm and I felt safe being in his embrace.

We slightly parted so he could look at me.

"Never ever leave me, and I won't leave you"

"I promise" I smiled at him.

I rested my head on his chest.

Soon we parted and I looked up at him.
"Let's go to sleep" I walked back into the cave and he followed.

I slept on one side of the fire and he slept on the other. I smiled at him and fell asleep.

When I opened my eyes I saw Alex.

"Hello" she smiled.

"Why am I here agian? Didn't I unlock my powers?"

"You did, but not fully. I opened up a passage, now we have to enter it. Are you ready?"

"Yes" this time I wasn't scared to accept that I would be a demon from now on. I closed my eyes and heard Alex chant.

○ Ryuuji's P.O.V ○

I couldn't sleep. Aalia's words were ringing in the back of my head. I could hear them over and over.

"Ryuuji, I love you. Please don't leave me"

Do I feel the same way? This would keep bugging me all night.

The sky was slightly lighter, the sun was rising. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep. I kept on debating whether I felt the same way or not.

The fire had gone out and I turned so I could see her. She was beautiful. Just looking at her was enough for me to know my true feelings.

I do love her.

I closed my eyes and expected to see dreams, but instead I saw a memory, one that I wanted go forget.

○ Third Person P.O.V ○

A five year old boy was walking home, just like he did everyday.

He was walking through the grass field when he heard an animal in distress.

"Huh?" He scanned the area to see where the noise was coming from.

He walked in different directions hoping that he would find the source of the noise.

He soon saw a bunch of boxes piled on top of each other, the noise was coming from there.

He used his little arms to climb over the boxes. When he was over he saw a cat, crushed by a box.

"Kitty!" He ran to the cat and lifted up the box.

Both the cats legs were broken and it was crying.

He carefully cuddled the cat and said "It's okay, I'll take care of you"

"Mommy mommy mommy!" He ran inside his house.

"Mommy! I found this cat and it's legs are broken please help it!" He said with tears running down his face.

"Heh don't worry. It will be okay" she picked up the cat and gave it a bath. She then cleaned the wound and used sticks to keep the bone in place.

"He should be good in about 2 weeks"

"Yay! Can we keep it?" He said giving his mom the puppy dog face.

"Of course" she grabbed him and hugged him.

~ 2 weeks later ~

"Hehe!" Ryuuji and his new pet cat were playing in the backyard.

He picked up his cat and looked at him "I'll name you Kotaro!"

He hugged him and Kotaro meowed.

"I love you Kotaro"

~ The Next Day ~

It was a very rainy day. Ryuuji ran down the stairs.

"Okasama (mother) where is Kotaro?"

"Hmm I'm not sure. Try outside" she was doing the dishes.

He ran outside "Kotaro! Kotaro! Kotaro where are you!"

He scanned the are and to his horror, he found Kotaro.

He ran to him. Kotaro was floating in a puddle, lifeless.

"Kotaro!" He cried. "Why?!"

○ Ryuuji's P.O.V ○

I woke up in shock and I hugged myself.

I thought about the dream I just had and realized something. Every time I told someone or something I love them they all died or something bad happened.

I told my grandfather I loved him, the next day dead. I told my cousin I loved him and he broke both his arms.

I sighed loudly and sat up. It was still dark, I didn't sleep long.

I don't want to hurt Aalia, but I can't stop my feelings for her. I can't hide it anymore. The only way to keep her safe is to leave.

I walked to the corner of the cave where I kept our weapons, armor and masks.

I got ready and looked at Aalia. I have to leave her a message.

I used my crystals and broke them into small pieces. I arranged them to form words and I left. I looked at Aalia one more time and flew away before I changed my mind.

I felt the tears forming, but I tried my best to hold them in.

○ Aalia's P.O.V ○

I rubbed my eyes as I woke up. It was very cloudy and dark even though it was morning.

"Ryuuji did you sleep well?" I was still rubbing my eyes, but as soon as he didn't respond I opened them.

"Ryuuji?" I stood up and looked for him. I walked out of the cave and called to him "Ryuuji!" Still no answer.

I looked over at where our equipment was and saw his were missing.

"He left?! Why?!"

I ran out the cave and looked for him.

"RYUUJI!!!"

He was nowhere to be found.

"Where did he go and why?" My eyes started to water as it started to rain.

I went back inside the cave and slumped against the wall. I hugged my knee's and cried silently.
