Sleeping Beauty - Muku x Reader (Fluff)

The weather was perfect for a morning nap. Any weather was, really, but winter was particularly cool and relaxing. I put in some earphones and chose a playlist to wake me up, it wouldn't do to fall asleep while walking...not that I've ever done that before...no...

Soon enough, I arrived at my destination, Velludo way. My best and arguably only friend had been nagging me to go see a GODZA performance for weeks, so I reluctantly agreed to meet up with her today, despite my wish to catch up on all the sleep I had lost from doing schoolwork. I looked at my watch to confirm that I was only three minutes early, and sat down on the sidewalk as I wondered where on Earth she could be.

"She must have gotten distracted by another street act," I sighed as I closed my eyes, leaning back on the wall of a building.

I switched my music to a calmer playlist to suit the atmosphere of the day, which probably wasn't a good idea if I didn't want to fall asleep. And...I did.

Muku POV

"Mukkun, could you go and see if Hisoka fell asleep outside again? He's probably nearby if so," a harassed Izumi popped her head into the living room and seemingly asked the first boy she saw.

"O-of course! I'll do my best to track him down even if I'm just a good for nothing!" I smiled as I closed the manga I was reading and placed it underneath a couch cushion.

I knew they didn't like it when I said things like that, but it was really a hard habit to break. Thankfully, she was too distracted to scold me.

I put on an extra sweater before heading outside. The snow really was beautiful, almost magical! Sometimes I felt like pixies would come out from the branches and start making snowflakes right in front of me. Oh, and wouldn't it be great if a unicorn with ice magic appeared and let me pet it? Then again, it could steal me away to a land of cold and sorrow where ice giants rule...!

I hummed to myself as more thoughts of fantastical scenarios ran through my head, stopping only when I smelled hot cocoa in the air. I looked around and spotted a stand selling some across the street.

"No! I should be looking for Hisoka-san!" I chided myself and resumed walking.

...

"Well...if the hot cocoa has marshmallow toppings maybe Hisoka will smell it and sleepwalk to me?" I mused and started crossing the street towards the stand.

"One normal hot cocoa and one with extra marshmallow toppings please!" I ordered as I fished my wallet out of my pants pocket.

Sipping my hot cocoa and holding the one for Hisoka carefully with my left hand, I was ready to continue my search. By the time I finished my hot cocoa, I had already combed through every part of Velludo way where I was sure I wouldn't bump into GODZA. Internally sighing, I drank Hisoka's cocoa as well to give me more mobility and the strength to go into GODZA territory.

However, I found one of the most unexpected sights upon turning to enter the street where the GODZA theatre was located. It was a girl, around my age, fast asleep on the sidewalk. Her h/c hair with flecks of snow on it framed her soft, peaceful face as she slept, curled up against the wall of a building. It was almost like a scene from a Shojo Manga...

Entranced, I walked closer and crouched down in front of her. "I guess I found the wrong sleeping beauty, huh..." I smiled as a snowflake fell on her long black eyelashes.

"But wait? Why is she sleeping here? She's not dead because her chest is moving up and down which means she's breathing...What if she was drugged? Or cursed like an actual sleeping beauty? If she was drugged she could be in danger of being sold to a human trafficking ring!" my thoughts went into a downward spiral after that.

After a while of internally panicking and thinking of different scenarios, I decided to wake her up. I shook her gently by the shoulder, but she didn't respond. "Miss? Miss are you alright?"

She was still fast asleep. "Ah, maybe she's like Hisoka? Director told me that when I find Hisoka and I don't have any marshmallows on me I should just carry him home...maybe they'll know what to do! It's not safe to just leave her out here, and in the cold too!" I muttered to myself.

"Alright, well..." I carefully picked her up and started walking. I wanted to pick her up Princess-stye but Piggy-back style would be more comfortable and provide her more warmth.

As I opened the door to the dorms, I was greeted by Izumi's voice, "Welcome home, Muku! Sorry we made you go out, it turns out Hisoka was asleep in the washing machine with a bag of marshmal-?!"

She stopped mid-sentence to gape at...most likely the girl on my back. "Muku, that's not Hisoka!"

"I...know, director..." was all I could get out before various members of the company, save the winter troupe, arrived from their rooms and started a ruckus.

"A dead body? Is that what I look like when I pass out from exhaustion?" Tsuzuru mused.

"Are we recruiting female members now, director?" Sakuya asked from behind her.

"Oi...did you kidnap that girl?" Tenma asked incredulously.

"Our little Mukkun finally brought home a girl~ Totes props to ya~" Kazunari bounced into the room.

"We can wake her up with triangles! I have some new ones~" Misumi appeared from behind me and almost made me drop the girl.

"This is giving me a headache..." Yuki muttered and went back to his room.

"...this looks like a scene from a light novel," Itaru commented before going back up as well, mobile phone in hand.

The living room descended into chaos and poor Muku was unable to say a word.

Your POV

Wherever I was, it was much warmer and more comfortable than before. I snuggled whatever I was hugging tighter, and tried to go back to sleep, ignoring the yelp my action seemed to cause.

"Oh, she must be awake! I saw her hug Mukkun!" I heard a woman's voice and reluctantly opened my eyes.

I blearily observed my surroundings. A cute boy with soft, pink hair was carrying me on his back and I was...in a living room? And there were a lot of people...

"Do you know how much trouble the company will be in if she presses charges for kidnapping? What if she was planted there by GODZA for that exact purpose?" A blonde older man with glasses was seemingly scolding the boy carrying me, as a kind-looking older woman with brown hair and eyes tried to calm him down.

"Sakyo, hun, you're scaring Mukkun."

"So...I was kidnapped?" My voice was way softer than all the chatter in the room, but they immediately went quiet when I spoke.

Muku, finally snapping out of his trance, yelped and hurriedly placed me onto a nearby couch.

"I-I'm sorry! I was just concerned because...because you were asleep on the sidewalk! And you didn't seem to have anyone near you and you wouldn't wake up and I thought you might get hurt or kidnapped--" his hands started moving in nervous gestures and you could clearly see the fear on his face.

"Isn't that essentially what you did though?" someone piped up.

Unable to process much of what was going on around me, I tuned them out and sniffed the air curiously.

"Hm~ I smell chocolate," I could never properly wake up without a little sugar, so whatever they said wouldn't properly register into my mind until I had some.

I felt multiple confused pairs of eyes on me as rummaged around the couch. Eventually, I found a stash of Shojo manga and chocolate of all kinds. I had already unwrapped a bar of white chocolate before I remembered that I should ask for permission. I told you my mind doesn't work when I've just woken up.

"Can I have some?" I looked up at the boy who was now staring down at me with an unreadable expression.

"So that's where he hides it..." I heard a guy who looked like he was part of a motorcycle gang mutter.

"Su-sure..."

"My hero!" I exclaimed as I happily bit into the chocolate, closing my eyes before I could see his blush and savoring the taste.

"Well, now that we've resolved it's not a kidnapping. Please go back to your rooms, boys..." I heard the mom-like woman instruct.

A lot of whines were heard but they were all silenced by a single glare from the older blond man.

Once everyone but the boy, the woman, and the man were gone, the three sat down on the couch across from me.

After my last bite of chocolate, I asked the only question I could think of, "So is this like, an orphanage? And you two are the parent figures?"

The man's face hardened and he glared at me, but I noticed a faint blush on his face. The boy continued staring at me curiously, his head now in his hand. The woman laughed and replied, "Sometimes it feels like that, but no. This is the MANKAI company dorm. My name is Tachibana Izumi and I'm the director. This old grump here is Furuichi Sakyo, he's part of our Autumn Troupe and the company owes him a lot of money!"

"Why would she need to know that? But I'm glad you remember your debts..." the man, Sakyo, sighed.

"The boy who brought you back is Sakisaka Muku, he's a member of our Summer Troupe who I sent out on an errand," the woman, Izumi, continued.

"Hi...please don't press charges on me even if I'm just a good for nothing radish brained idiot who--" I sensed that Muku would go on a tangent if I didn't interrupt, so I did.

"Don't worry, it wasn't a bother. In fact, I should thank you for the concern and the chocolate. I accidentally fell asleep waiting for my friend. I guess she stood me up," I got up from my seat as I checked my watch.

"Oh."

"Thank you very much for the...hospitality?" I asked more than told the two adults before bowing.

Sakyo sighed as Izumi simply smiled warmly.

Muku got up to walk me out the door and I laughed softly at this. "So...Sakisaka-kun...I saw a manga stash~ Were those yours?"

"Y-yes..."

"Can I drop by sometime to borrow some? I don't usually read Shojos but I did like some of them, like OHSHC...." I fiddled with my hair as we walked.

"Oh! That's a great one! Sure, come by anytime!" he immediately brightened and started talking rapid-fire about some similar mangas he had as he opened the door for us.

"Yay!" I exclaimed and asked for a pen.

He fished one out of his pocket and handed it to me. He didn't say a word, but I could sense his curiosity. I gently grabbed his hand and wrote my phone number down before returning the pen and saying goodbye.

"Score! I made a cute friend, got to eat chocolate, and now have free access to a bunch of mangas!" I internally cheered as I walked home.

Third Person POV

"She seemed nice, and Muku seemed so happy. I hope she comes by again soon," Izumi mused to Sakyo as they observed Muku typing something into his phone as soon as he came in.

"Good god, if she causes a ruckus like that each time she arrives, I'd rather she didn't."

Izumi nudged Sakyo and pointed at Muku. From this angle, they could see what he was typing. He was saving someone's number as... "Sleeping Beauty."

"Our little Prince finally found a Princess!" Izumi giggled.

"A princess who was sleeping on the street?" Sakyo raised an eyebrow at her.

"Hey, some of our best actors were found that way!"
