Third Person's POV

Our heroes have arrived in Santalune City, and soon Ash and Eli will challenge their first Gym in the Kalos Region

Ash begins to run with excitement and exclaims to himself "Yeah! Santalune City, you better look out! cause I'm gonna get my first Kalos badge, from you!" Pikachu nods in agreement "Pika Pika!" Bonnie, Gary, Eli, and Clemont run following Ash despite Clemont breathing hard for carrying such a bag

Eli looks back at Clemont and asks "you're okay Back there Clemont" Clemont replies between pants "I'll be okay" Eli nods at Clemont then he hear a trip Eli stops goes to help Clemont up

Ash looks at Clemont and says "come on, Clemont, hurry up"

Eli stated "or you slow down, I understand you're excited, man you don't have to be this fast" Sylveon pants tiredly that she collapse "Veon!" Eli then adds "great Even Sylveon's tired"

Clemont says "one thin, and I think is Kind of important" he finally gets back on his feet thanks to Eli as he ask "do you have any Idea where the Santalune city gym might be located?"

Ash replies "No clue. course I don't" Both Gary and Eli fall at Ash bluntness as Eli comments "and people said that I'm the blunt one"

Ash Jumps and stand on the edge of a fountain "I figure stuff out best if I run! Keep moving ahead and you can't go wrong" he then look at Pikachu "That's the way we roll" Pikachu nods in agreement "Pika Chu!"

Eli walks towards Ash "you really are something else, Ash, despite the years passing you're still the same Ash I remember when we were 10" he says as Sylveon giggles in agreement while petting Pikachu's head with his ribbon Causes Pikachu to scratch the back of his head while Umbreon watches the two Pokemon with a frown which Dedenne and Bonnie notice it and giggles as Gary watches his childhood friends silently

Then a Camera click sound was heard by our heroes and they look a slim young girl of medium height. She has blonde hair cut in a chin length bob which curls under, with two slightly longer, thin locks which hand in front of her ears, green eyes and a pale complexion. She wears a white vest, greyish-green cropped pants with lots of pockets and a white belt, brown ankle boots with laces that match her trousers, and a matching sweatband on her left wrist. She is also seen with her camera, and then says to them "Thanks so much for the great take" she walks towards them with a smile on her face as she continues "you guys seems to have the makings of a great team" 

Ash replies "Hey, thanks!" Eli nods in agreement "it means a lot"

The girl giggles at them and tells them "And FYI, if you're going to the Santalune Gym," she points at her left which is our heroes right "Make a right on that corner"

Ash then at her and says "Yeah? Thanks a lot for the info" he then looks at the others and says "I told you we can't go wrong, let's go Pikachu" Ash jumps down from the fountain and runs to the direction that were told by the girl as Pikachu nods "Pika!"

"Ash, not so fast" Clemont shouts as he and Bonnie run off following Ash "hey wait up!"

Gary and Eli give the girl a bow as Gary says "thank you so much for the assistance" Eli adds "it means a lot" with that the Kanto boys along with their Eeveelution Pokemon runs off following their friends little did Our heroes know that it won't be the last time they'll see this particular girl

-time skip-

Our Heroes arrive at the entrance of the Santalune Gym as Ash says "Wow, we Made it!"

Clemont stated "now if I remember my fact correctly, The Santalune Gym Leader specialize, Bug type Pokemon"

Bonnie comment joyfully "I can't wait to go inside, is gonna be fun!" Dedenne nods agreeing "Denene!"

"I wonder what type of Pokémon they'll use?" Gary asks curiously, "Seeing how this region has the Pokémon I've already seen and new ones, this will be interesting." as Gary comment "I would like to see the Pokemon that this Gym Leader has"

Unlike the others Eli looks at the Gym nervous Sylveon notice his trainer and snuggles Eli's legs to get his attention which Eli looks down at his Partner nods at him and Eli kneels down and Give Sylveon a pat in the head and tell him "Thanks Sylveon" Ash sees Eli and says "oh right Eli, this might be your first gym battle in a long time hasn't it"

Eli sighs and looks back at Ash and says "can you blame me for be nervous, I haven't been in gym battles since we split up" Gary pats Eli's head "but hey you're here with us again, right?" Eli nods as Gary continues "then there's nothing for you to worry about, you need to trust your Pokemon, just like they trust you" Umbreon nods in agreement "Umbre On!" Sylveon joins "Ve!"

Ash says "Eli, remember your own words "if you lost with your hundred percent then go train to you reach to a thousand or more" you said those words to me! I'll keep going beyond my thousand percent and you should too Eli!"

Eli blushes and clears his throat and says with a smile "thanks Ash, Gary, Pikachu, Umbreon" continues petting Sylveon "and Sylveon too, I needed that" he added.

Our Heroes then nods at each other and walks to head inside as Ash calls "hello in there! We wanna challenge you to a battle" the door opens only for Ash to be jump by a small Pokémon landing on Ash's face "He!" Ash falls back on his butt with the Pokémon and Ash looks at it.

"Hel Helioptile!" the Pokémon cried.

Gary and Ash look at the Pokémon surprisingly "Is Helioptile!" they yelled as Eli pulls out his Pokédex and points it at The Pokemon name Helioptile

'Helioptile the Generator Pokémon. It charges itself by bathing in the light of the sun, providing it with enough energy that it doesn't need to eat.'

Eli complimented "wow a Normal and Electric type that is a rare dual type, and I like it"

Then a female voice is heard by Our heroes "Welcome Ash, Gary, Pikachu and Umbreon!" Helioptile crawls to who Eli, Bonnie and Clemont believes is Helioptile's trainer "huh?" Helioptile climes to a slender young woman with fair skin and green eyes. Her light brown hair is mostly collected, though a few curly tufts protrude from her head. as she says "nice to see you guys again!"

Eli ask Ash and Gary "do you two know her?"

Ash completely ignores Eli's question and smile at the woman "hey Alexa, I didn't know you were here" Gary adds "me either"

the woman claiming to be named Alexa replies "uh-huh, I finished up my reporting and thought you'd be here soon, so I waited, so are these you're- wait I KNOW YOU!" She screams pointing at Eli who points at himself

"Me?" Eli asked.

Alexa rush towards the blue hair male "yes you! You're the famous top coordinator Eli, everyone in Kalos has been talking about the Grand festival since you won!" she notices Sylveon "and this must be your Eevee who Evolved into a Sylveon" she adds.

Eli nods confirming her question "that's her alright" Sylveon smiles at Alexa "Sylveon!"

Eli smiles kindly "is really nice to meet you" Alexa nods in return "oh please the pleasure is mine" Bonnie then jump in the conversation "Hi Alexa, my name is Bonnie, and this is Dedenne" Dedenne smiles at Alexa "Denene!" Bonnie then looks at Clemont "and this is my brother"

"I'm Clemont, is nice to meet you" Clemont introduces himself as he walks towards Ash "that's quite impressive, you already knew the Gym leader" he adds.

Ash then tells him "She's not the Gym leader. You see Alexa's actually a Pokemon Journalist" Alexa adds "That's right the Gym leader's my younger sister Viola"

Eli then nods at this information "I see" Bonnie ask "Viola?" then they all hear a voice behind them "that's me!" Our heroes look back and see the same Blonde girl who helped Ash and the others earlier "Nice to see you again"

Ash gets up and says "You mean, you're Alexa's sister?" Alexa notice what's going on "oh so, you've already have known one another?"

Viola walks towards the group and responds "right, at the fountain, I took a Picture of Pikachu and Ash, Alexa said that you wanted to challenge me, while I was gone"

Ash says "I still do. How about it?" he asked

Now is Eli's turn to talk "not only him Viola, I'm also here to challenge you to a battle" he said

Viola nods at them "Sure! Please come inside!" she said and they all walk inside the Gym and you can see many pictures on the wall those Pictures were taken by Viola herself.

Ash ask Viola with a awed tone "Wow, you took all of these pictures Viola?" Viola responds "Uh-huh, although, these are just a few of the pictures I've taken" Alexa comment "She's got quite a talent at photographing Bug types! she even helps me out with my reporting from time to time" they all look at Alexa

Eli sees that Gary's taking notes with a small notebook and goes to him "so...doing your own reports as well Gary?" he asked.

Gary jumps and looks away with a blush and says "I-I mean can you blame me I was just doing what I'm doing researching other Pokemon in other regions" he said.

Eli raises his hand in defense "I was just teasing you Gary, not that big to worry about" he then said. 

Gary turns away and says "sorry" 

Eli gently punches Gary's arm "hey no need to be that shy around me, that's my thing" he joked.

Gary then jumps on Eli and give him and ruffling on his hair which both him and Gary laugh which their Pokemon just giggles at their trainers Sylveon pats Umbreon's head with his ribbon and which makes Umbreon blush and looks down and the two Kanto boy looks at the others and they notice that Bonnie and Clemont were gone and none of them notice the jealousy in Ash's eyes.

Alexa then comments "such a unique little girl"

Eli then asked "do I want to know what's going on?" Viola then looks at Ash and Eli and ask "So Ash, Eli, Shall we? how about that battle"

Ash responds determine "Great" Pikachu nods in agreement "Pika Pika!" Eli looks at Ash and ask "you can go first Ash, you seem more excited unlike me who's just nervous" Ash then says "alright then, wish me luck" Eli then says as Ash and Viola walk off to the arena "give Her a good show Ash" Gary then says "come on Eli let's go and watch the battle"

Ash and Viola are in the battlefield with their referee as Eli, Gary, Bonnie, Clemont, and Alexa are going to watch the battle from the sidelines.

The referee announces "The Gym Battle between Ash, the Challenger and Viola the Santalune Gym Leader, will now begin! Each side will have the use of two Pokemon, and the battle will be over when either trainer's Pokemon are unable to continue! Only the Challenger may substitute Pokemon!" Both Ash and Viola look at each other determine.

Viola exclaims "My lance's always focus on victory, no matter what! Surskit, go!" then a blue Pokemon appears in front of viola "Surskit!" Ash looks at Surskit and mutters "a Surskit huh?" Ash then pulls out his Pokedex and points it at Surskit

'Surskit the Pond Skater Pokemon, Surskit can walk on water as if it was skating, it attracts prey with sweet aroma it produces'

Ash mutters to himself while putting his Pokedex back to his pocket and smile excitedly "My first Kalos Gym battle, and I'm gonna start off with Pikachu" Pikachu looks excited and sparks of electricity flashes on his cheeks

Bonnies yells "Ash's using Pikachu!" Clemont explains "that's because Pikachu's got a big advantage against Surskit, who is a water and bug type"

Gary then says "yeah Ash and Pikachu do have the upper hand when it comes to type mashups but we don't know about Viola's battling style" Eli in agreement "I agree with Gary on this one, I mean who know what tricks Viola has under her belt and I know for sure that she's not someone to underestimate" Gary nods at Eli who blushes and looks away "I-I mean you can't judge a book by it's cover" 

Eli then looks at Surskit and smiles for a bit which Gary notice it and ask "you're okay?" Eli looks at Gary "yeah Gare, I'm fine, I just remembering stuffs" Gary looks at him curiously and ask "wanna talk about it?" Eli says "Only thing I can says that Viola's Surskit reminds me a lots of Drew Surskit, who I heard that it evolved into a Masquerain" Gary nods and ask "so you have met our other traveling companions before" Eli nods "yeah after you guy part ways with them, I'll tell the rest of it Later"

The referee announces "Now, Battle Begin!"

The battle Starts of with Ash yelling "Okay Pikachu, let's start this with quick attack!" Pikachu uses quick attack and dashes at Surskit "Quick Surskit use protect!" Viola commands as a Green Shield appears out of thin air in front of Surskit preventing it from getting hit and pushes Pikachu away surprising him "Pika!?"

Ash then yells "Go around Surskit and use Iron Tail!" Pikachu runs behind Surskit and his tail glows, Viola yells "Surskit dodge it!" Surskit dodges the attack quickly on time and it runs around Pikachu trying to distract it Ash yells again "Focus Pikachu, use Electro ball and stop Surskit" Pikachu Jumps up and Use Electro ball and fires it at Surskit "Surskit use Ice beam!" Viola yells as Surskit use Ice beam to counter the attack

BOOM

Bonnie and Clemont seem surprised of how strong Viola is unlike Eli, Gary and Alexa is something they expected "My sister is very strong" Clemont looks at Alexa "huh?" She smirks" defeating her is no easy task" Helioptile nods in agreement "Tile!" Gary adds "Like I expected from a gym leader" Eli nod in agreement 'What more tricks you have, Viola?'

Viola states "this is where it begins. Use Ice beam on the field!" Surskit uses Ice beam which now the battlefield becomes a ice skating wonderland 

"The Battlefield's frozen!" Bonnie yells "so this is what's she's been planning? just playing with her opponents just to change the scenery of the battlefield like a happy Summer turned into a Winter Wonderland?" Viola Hears Eli and narrow her eyes at him 'he's fast learner he realize it from the moment, now I wonder how he can manage in this battle' 

Pikachu seems to be struggling to stay standing and slip on his back "Pika!" Ash notices it "Pikachu get up, quick!" Pikachu tries to stand up again and he barely manage

Viola states again "our ice battlefield is picture perfect! Surskit let's go" Surskit dashes or more like skates around Pikachu which everyone notices that Surskit's moving faster than before the Ice field 'I see Surskit is faster when it comes to Ice, if my Ice Pokemon would see this they're going to fall in love with it' Eli thinks as he watches closely the battle

Pikachu's seems to have trouble in the Ice field as Ash tells his partner "Hang in there, use Iron Tail" he commanded.

Pikachu nods "Pika!" Pikachu looks back at Surskit as his tail glows once Surskit charges at Pikachu which he swing his Iron Tail, pushing Surskit away from Pikachu 

Viola yells "Pull it together Surskit, and use Ice beam!" Surskit uses Ice beam and fires it at Pikachu

Ash also yells "Now Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu uses thunderbolt and it clashes with Surskit's Ice beam forcing Pikachu to be pushed back falling hard on his back "Pikachu, No!"

Viola exclaims "yes, now use your Picture-perfect Signal Beam" Surskit fires a beam and Pikachu gets hit by it causing it to faint as the referee, claims "Pikachu is unable to battle, Surskit wins!"

Ash when to pick Pikachu up to check if he's okay "Pikachu, you okay" Pikachu open his eyes and looks at his trainer and smiles weakly which Eli feels anxious

Alexa then remembers something she looks around "this is strange? I don't see him around, I guess he's late "

Eli notice this and ask "what are you talking about Alexa?" Alexa looks at the sky-blue hair kid and explains "well is just our younger Brother Anthony's supposed to be here?"

Eli asked "Anthony?" 

then the two hear a voice behind them "I'm here" 

Eli and Alexa look back and they both see a slim, yet muscular, toned young man of average height with spiky blond hair, which is kept in strands jutting outwards in every direction, and a smaller, frontal cowlick of hair partially hanging over his forehead. He has slanted, slit pupils, dark blue eyes; above the right one is a thin, diagonal scar. 

His left ear is adorned with an earring which, in itself, is attached to by a prominent metal pendant that is crystalline in shape. He has a white tattoo that is located on his left shoulder.

He wears a blue vest with golden outer edges and inner edges covered by a prominent trimming of gray fur that appears similar to a feather boa over a short, creams top, leaving his muscular upper abdominals exposed. His arms are covered by dark blue gloves reaching up to his mid-bicep, with their upper edges being adorned by light gray bands hanging down several centimeters.

He wears loose, cream-colored pants held up by suspenders, which attach to the pant loops by square-shaped rings that are gold in color. Over them, he dons distinctive dark blue galosh-Esque footwear that reaches up to his thighs and attaches to the upper edge of his pants

The prominent soles of the "boots" are distinctive in their own right; it has rectangular protrusions pointing upwards on their front portion, reminiscent of square fangs.

The guy looks at his older sister "Hey Alexa, I'm sorry I'm Late I heard that I have a challenger here"

Alexa replies "that's right, Eli here will like to challenge the Gym" she points at Eli who nods 

As Anthony analyzes him he smirks and says while he then put his finger under Eli's chin "so this cutie likes to challenge me"

Eli's eyes widen as Bonnie pushes the male. "Nope! I won't let you take away my brother's future husband!"

Viola giggles as she sneaks fully to take a picture. Anthony look at Bonnie as he raised a brow, "Who?"

"Me!" Anthony turns to see Clemont, 

"...Well, looks like I don't have to put in much work." he said with a smirk

Clemont got upset by that Ash and Gary weren't liking him. Alexa chops Anthony's head, "Hey! Mind yourself, also you do realize that you're flirting with someone who wants to challenge you!"

Eli ask "he's also a gym leader?"

Anthony explain "not quite I'm more of a substitute when Viola isn't in the gym, I happen to take over while she's gone" Eli then nods "I see..." Eli looks at the others and says "I guess I have to go and face Anthony, since Ash's already Battling Viola, I'll see you guys when I'm done"

Gary then jumps in "I'm coming with you, I want to see you battle" Eli nods and the two walk off following Anthony towards another Battle arena

-time skip-

Anthony and Eli as at the battlefield as the referee was there, "The Gym Battle between Eli, the challenger, and Anthony, the Santalune Gym Leader, will now begin."

Gary was watching the match while Bonnie and Clemont were watching Ash's battle against Viola. Gary was feeling nervous as he could slowly see himself being Eli in the past, watching his old self doing a Gym Battle.

"Each side will have the use of three Pokémon and the battle will be over when either Trainer's Pokémon are unable to continue. Only the challenger may substitute Pokemon." 

"I hope you're ready for this." Anthony challenges as he brings out his first Pokémon, "Go, Surskit!" His first Pokémon comes out as it was a Surskit. "Surskit!" They yell as they were ready.

"he'll use Surskit, too..." Eli mumbled "Plus, it's a water type..." Eli remembers what type the Pokémon was as he meets one in Hoenn, "Alright since this is my first battle then they should get the first action. Come on out, Sylveon!"

Eli throws his Poke ball as it was Sylveon. "Syl!" Sylveon comes out as she was also ready to battle.

"So Eli is gonna use Sylveon..." Gary mumbled, 'I wonder how Sylveon can handle a Bug and Water type.'

Gary thought about something as he brings out his Poke ball. It opens as it was Umbreon, "Umbre!"

"Hey Umbreon, let's cheer on Eli and Sylveon." Umbreon was confused as they look and see that Sylveon was in a Gym Battle. he nodded as he sat next to Gary, "Umbre!"

"Now, battle begin!"

"Sylveon use Swift" Sylveon uses swift as Pink stars were send off by Sylveon to Surskit 

"Uh!" Anthony looks towards Surskit who's getting hurt a bit from the swift. "Clever, then let's make this all icy. Surskit, use Ice Bream on the field."

Eli yells "Sylveon, Heads up!" Sylveon nods "Veon!" 

"Surskit!" Surskit released an icy-cold beam of energy. "Syl." Sylveon started to dodge it until she slips a bit as she looks and sees the field is being covered with ice.

"So now the battlefield is frozen." Gary notices as he turns to Surskit, "This can go bad."

"Umbre," Umbreon spoke as they were worried about Sylveon.

Sylveon was struggling a bit as he tries to keep himself steady. Eli notices Sylveon struggling to keep Herself balanced as he quickly thinks of something.

"Now this is an ice scenery." Anthony smirks, "Surskit, let's go."

"Surskit!" Surskit stated with exertion as they zipped around Sylveon.

"Hang in there Sylveon." Eli encourages his Pokémon, "Use Fairy Wind!"

"Ve!" Sylveon agrees as he releases a Pinky glittery gush of wind at Surskit. However, when Eli looks at Anthony, he notices that he was smirking.

"Surskit, use Ice Bream again!" Anthony commanded.

"Surskit!" Surskit once again released an icy-cold beam of energy. It collided with the Fairy wind as it made a wall that was made by Sylveon's Fairy wind.

"Now jump up and use Bubble Beam!" Anthony quickly spoke. "Surskit!" Surskit roars as the spray of bubbles are about to be forcefully ejected at Sylveon

Eli yelled "Sylveon, quick! Protect!" A glowing Pink transparent shield appears in front of Sylveon protecting him from Surskit Bubble beam which Eli sighs with relief 

"That Surskit is strong." Gary commented as he looks at Anthony, 'He might be the strongest first Gym Leader to come across. He knows how to use Pokémon moves to his advantage. Come on Eli.'

"Umbre Umbreon!" Umbreon shouted and cheering for Sylveon.

'I gotta figure out how to deal with that Surskit.' Eli was panicking in his mind as tried to solve a way to get a comeback, he gasp as he realize 'Wait...those moves, it was like something a coordinator would do...That's it!'

"Sylveon!" Eli calls out as Sylveon turns to him, "Snowpoint City!"

Gary and Anthony were confused as Sylveon understood what Eli was saying. "Snowpoint City?" Anthony repeated in confusion, "Doesn't matter Surskit use Quick Attack!"

"Surskit!" Surskit lunges at Sylveon at a speed that makes it almost invisible.

"Go!" Eli yells. At the very second, Sylveon started to dodge Surskit's attack. and Begins to skate gracefully on the Ice field

"Huh!?" Anthony yells as Surskit's eyes widen, "Surskit!"

"They dodge it!" Gary cheered smile as Umbreon continues to cheer, "Umbreon!"

Sylveon was still moving as it was like they were ice skating. "Sylveon use Swift one more time!"

"Sylveon!" Sylveon instead of using Swift he hurls a Pink Glowing blob as he instead throw it in the air. Sylveon jumps as they spin around before using its Ribbons to launch it, "Syl! Veon!" this surprises everyone in the arena including the Referee

"Surskit!" Surskit's eyes widen as it got hit by the attack. It created a small clash with the ice as it broke the ice field a bit.

The ice smoke clears out as it show's a fainted Surskit. "Surskit..."

"S-Surskit is unable to battle!" The Referee stated, still shocked at what just happened "The winner is Sylveon!"

"Phew!" Eli sighs in relief as Sylveon lands. "Sylveon...what move was that?"

"Alright." Gary cheers as Umbreon jumps up, "Umbreon!"

Anthony smiles as he returns Surskit to its ball. "Surskit, you were great. Now we know what we're dealing with." He notice the confused look on Eli's face and he tells him "That move that Sylveon just did is called Moon Blast is a Strong Fairy type move, not many Fairy Types get to learned that move out of nowhere" 

"I notice some of your moves weren't normal." Eli calls out, he looks at Anthony with a smirk, "You watch Pokémon contests, do you."

Anthony didn't say anything as he bring out his second ball. "Sometimes Trainers must think outside of the box. Go, Vivillon!"

His second Pokémon comes out as it was Vivillon. "Vivillon!" They shouted confidently as they flew up in the air.

"That's a new one." Eli notices that it was the Pokémon Aria has as he takes out his Pokédex.

'Vivillon. The Scale Pokémon. Vivillon is skillfully able to find a source of water. It has been said that you'll find a spring if you follow a Vivillon.'

"Wait, this looks different than what she has." Eli notices that the wings are different than the one Aria had when he was in Sinnoh.

"That's because Vivillon has 18 different forms," Anthony explains as it caught Gary's attention.

"So it has many forms..." Gary mumbles before he now knows what to look for in his research.

"Still, this is a battle!" Eli then got himself back into his battling mindset, "Sylveon use Fairy Wind!"

"Sylveon!" Sylveon roars as a howling Fairy wind are summoned to strike Vivillon.

"Vivillon, use Psychic." Anthony quickly spoke

"Ve!" Sylveon cries in pain as she was sliding until they crash to a sidewall.

"Sylveon! Are you okay!?" Eli quickly questioned.

"Syl..." Sylveon wobbles a bit before they quickly glare at Vivillon, "Sylveon!"

"That's one strong Sylveon." Anthony complimented, "Vivillon, use Gust."

"Vi!" A gust of wind is whipped up by Vivillon's wings and launched at Sylveon.

'That's it!' Eli's eyes widen at an idea. "Sylveon use Moon Blast!"

"Sylveon!" Sylveon roars as he hurl a glowing blob at Vivillon. It collided with the Gust attack as it created a dark Pink glowing wind by the Moon Blast.

"Urg!" Anthony frowns as both he and Vivillon can't see Sylveon because of the glowing wind Sylveon created with Vivillon's Gust.

"Looks we have to roll some dice on this." Anthony stated, "Vivillon use Solar Beam!"

"Vivillon." Vivillon spread their wings as they were absorbing the sunlight. "Vivillon!" They roar as they then blast a bundled beam.

It broke the shadowy field as it created an explosion. "Uh!" The two Trainers cover themselves as Anthony opens one of his eyes, "Did we get them?"

"Gotcha!" Eli smirks "Now Sylveon finish this off with Giga Impact!"

"Huh!" Anthony's eyes widen. A bright light came as Sylveon comes out of the smoke, charging at Vivillon using every bit of its power, "Sylveon!"

"Vi!" Vivillon cries out as they crash to the ceiling. "Vivillon!" Anthony yells as Vivillon falls to the ground fainted.

"Vivillon is unable to battle," The referee announces, "The winner is Sylveon!"

"Way to go Sylveon!" Eli smiles. "S-Syl...!" Sylveon tries to stand as they were wobbling, "Uh! Sylveon!"

"That Giga Impact must've used a lot of Sylveon's energy," Gary stated as Umbreon agree. "Umbre Umbreon..." Umbreon spoke worriedly.

"Sylveon, you should sit back..." Eli was cut off as Sylveon turn to him, "Sylveon Ve!" Sylveon turns to Anthony as they slowly stand up.

Anthony returned Vivillon to its Poke ball as he looks at Eli. "Seems like Sylveon won't go down until they stay down." He stated as he brought his third Poke ball, "And that's what I'm gonna do! My last Pokémon, Beedrill!"

Anthony sends his third and last Pokémon as it was a Beedrill. "Beedrill!" They roar as they stare at Sylveon with anticipation

"...Hm." Eli groaned as he didn't want to deal with another Beedrill. He takes out his Pokédex and puts it in front of them.

'Beedrill, Poison Bee Pokémon. It has three poisonous stingers on its forelegs and its tail. They are used to jab their enemy repeatedly. May appear in a swarm. Flies at violent speeds, all the while stabbing with the toxic stinger on its rear.'

"So, his last Pokémon is a Beedrill." Gary frowns, 'I wonder how Eli is gonna handle this. Considering what he did before Ash ran off.'

"Now things are gonna get serious!" Anthony stated, "Beedrill, use Poison Jab!"

"Quick Sylveon Protect!" Eli quickly yells. Sylveon tries to stand but they couldn't move because of their Giga Impact.

"Syl!" It was too late as Sylveon got stabbed with an arm steeped in poison. Sylveon tries to stand but purple bubbles started to show as Sylveon got the poison.

Antony tells Eli "a Piece of advice, Sylveon's weak against Beedrill considering that Fairy type are weak against Poison types"

"Uh!" Eli's eyes widen as Gary was worried. "This isn't good now that Sylveon got the poison." Gary commented as Umbreon try to cheer on, "Umbreon!"

Now Beedrill, use Bug Bite!" Anthony commanded. "Beedrill!" Beedrill charges down as Eli quickly countered.

"Quick use Fairy wind!" Eli stated as Sylveon roared a howling Fairy Wind. "Bee!" Beedrill cried as they got pushed back by the Fairy move.

"Ah! Now Eli might have a chance since Sylveon is now distant from Beedrill!" Gary stated as Umbreon cheered, "Umbreon!"

"Now Sylveon, Moon Blast!" Eli commanded. "Syl-!"

Sylveon was about to attack when they suddenly fell to the ground Eli's eyes widened. "Sylveon!" Eli rushes to Sylveon who fainted because of the poison.

"Sylveon is unable to battle." The Referee stated as they turn to Anthony, "Beedrill wins!"

"Man, that was a tough Sylveon," Anthony stated. "Great work Sylveon... Thank you" Eli gave a small smile as Sylveon did a weak happy smile, "Syl..."

Eli carries Sylveon as he went to Gary. "Can you watch over Sylveon?" Eli asks Gary, "Sure, leave them to us and finish this."

Eli nodded as he went back to battle feeling scared. Umbreon looked at Sylveon who was sleeping from exhaustion, "Umbre..."

Eli look at Anthony with a nervous expression 'the only other Pokemon I have is Gardevoir but, it'll be a big problem considering that Gardevoir is also a Fairy type b-but...' Eli's thought where cut off when a random Pokeball pops out as it a feline Pokemon appear in front of Eli

"Don't worry Eli, you got me!" Both Gary and Eli's eyes widen "Persian!?" Umbreon sees surprise as well "Umbre!"

Persian sits down "did you really forgot about me?" the talking Persian pouts which surprises Anthony because he never heard a Persian talking like a human and Gary for the fact that Persian who happens to be Meowth's younger brother evolved into a Persian

Eli then says "I-I'm sorry Persian i-is just I thought I sent you with Professor Oak" Persian shake his head "no...but I believe you forgot" Gets up and says "Eli please let me battle I learn some new move that I want to show you!" Persian looks at Eli with Glittering eyes which Eli looks at Sylveon who's asleep but sighs and looks at Persian and ask "alright, but you're going back to Kanto after this, Alright?"

"Looks like you're ready," Anthony smirks as Eli does the same. "Yeah, and they're gonna finish this. Ready Persian!?" Persian nods "Yes!" Eli then points at Anthony and Beedrill "alright then go get them!" Persian jumps jumps in the field and Growls at Beedrill intimidating it

Anthony notice Beedrill's expression "Hey, Beedrill what's going on?"

Eli answers "what's going on is Persian's Intimidate ability, it lowers his opponents attack with one glare of his, Persian!?" Persian responds "Ready as I ever be!"

Eli then commands "the use Power Gem!" Persian Fires a Beam out of the gem on it's forehead "take this!"

Anthony Quickly states "Quick Beedrill dodge and use Fell Stinger!"

"Beedrill!" Beedrill flies up as they charge at Persian. "Counter by using Shadow Claw!" Eli stated.

Both attack clash that causes to send both Pokemon go distant from the other "Good One Persian!" Persian nods "Thanks! Now watch this!" Persian jumps again and digs under ground which amazes Eli "Persian you Learned Dig!"

Gary then says "that's amazing!" Umbreon cheers "Umbreon!"

"Stay sharp Beedrill!" Anthony stated as Beedrill looks around. Suddenly the ground shakes as Persian comes to attack.

"Dodge it!" Anthony yells, Beedrill flies away as Eli smirks, "Nice try, Persian bounce off the ceiling and use Shadow Claw!"

"Here we..." Persian bounces off the ceiling as they slash Beedrill with huge, sharp shadow covered claws, "Go!"

"Bee!" Beedrill cries as they were knock off. "Beedrill, can you still fight?" Anthony asks as Beedrill nods, "Alright then use Poison Jab!"

"Bee!" Beedrill charges Persian to stab them with their arm steeped in poison.

"Persian, counter by using Shadow Claw!" Eli commanded. "Right!" Persian claws gest covered in shadows as they attack with swift chops.

They attack one another as some would hit each other while the other attack cancels each other. "Use Bug Bite!" Beedrill bites Persian as they look at them, "Ugh!"

Eli quickly got an idea, "Persian hold on to Beedrill tightly!" Persian holds on to Beedrill as Anthony looks at Eli, "What are you planning?"

"Just my way to winning this match." Eli answers, "Now use Dig!

"Ah!" Anthony's eyes widen, Persian was holding Beedrill with its mouth as they both were buried to the ground. "Beedrill get out of there!" Anthony quickly stated.

"It's too late!" Eli declared, "Persian, finish them off!" 

Everyone can hear a voice from the hole "FIRE BLAST!" A light came from the ground as a large dust cloud came. Both Trainers cover themselves as Gary and Umbreon does the same. 

The dust clears as it shows Persian standing and Beedrill on the ground. "Uh!" Anthony's eyes widen as Beedrill fainted.

"Beedrill is unable to battle." The Referee stated as they turn to Eli. "Persian wins, which means the victor is Eli, the Challenger!" He announces.

"We did it!" Eli cheers as Persian roars, and jumps on Eli to hug him "Yeah!" Both tumble to they fall down to the ground and laugh and Eli went to pet Persian's head "you did amazing Persian, thank you so much"

Persian rubs the back of his head with his paw "I-It was nothing you did most of the job I just follow your command" Eli kisses Persian's gem "still I'm so proud of you" Persian smiles at him "thanks Eli"

Anthony went to Beedrill as he pets them. "Great work Beedrill. You put up a great fight." Beedrill look at him as he nodded, "Beedrill."

Anthony returns Beedrill as he walks to Eli, "Well look like Little Cutie has got themselves, the Bug Badge, congratulation." Eli looks at the badge as it is shaped like a beetle.

"Yeah! We got our first Gym Badge! The Bug Badge" Eli cheered as Sylveon and Persian joined in. "Sylveon/Alright!"

Eli turns to Sylveon, "Ah, Sylveon are you feeling better?" Eli asks with concern as Sylveon nods, "Sylveon."

"That's good." Eli sighed as Gary walks up to him. 

"You did it!" Gary cheered as Umbreon did the same thing, "Umbreon!"

Eli froze as Sylveon was feeling the same. "Hey what's wrong?" Gary asks as he notices their expression.

"N-Nothing," Eli quickly answers. "It's just that...This seems familiar..."

Gary realizes what he was talking about as he could see younger Eli congratulating young Gary as he ignores them. "O-Oh..." Both Kanto boys stood silent as both Eeveelutions were worried about their trainer.

"Well," Anthony's voice came as it snapped the two of them out of it, "Why don't we see if your friend beat my sister. but before we do let make proposition"

Eli ask "what proposition?" Anthony nodded, "That's right, seeing how your friend over there thinks that he can take on my sister easily. Then let's make a bet."

"What kind of bet?" Gary questioned. "It's simple," Anthony explains, "If he could beat her, then I'll leave Little Cutie alone...for now."

Gary look up as he heard Anthony's proposition. "But what if Ash loses the match?" Eli question as Gary was wondering the same.

Anthony chuckles, "If he loses," Anthony then points to Eli, "Then you and I will have a date."

Eli Blushes "Huh!?"

Gary yells in disbelief "What!?"

Anthony smirks, "Aww what's wrong? Scared or are you doubting that my sister will beat him" Antony asked taunting the brunette

Gary got upset by the taunt, "No way!" He stated as both Ash and Pikachu looked serious, "You got yourself a deal!" 'Ash you better not lose'

Eli looks a Gary a bit concern but nods in agreement not sure what exactly is going on they went to the hallway. As they did Eli and Gary caught Ash, Bonnie, and Clemont running in a hurry.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Gary asks as Bonnie turns to them. "It's Ash, he lost that match."

"Ah!" Gary and Eli's eyes widen. "Looks like my sister was too strong for him," Anthony commented, "However..." Anthony turns to Eli, "A deals a deal." he winks at Eli whish looks away with a tin of red of his cheeks

They were about to take off with them as Eli noticed that someone else was with Ash, Bonnie, and Clemont. It was a girl with fair skin, gray eyes, long legs and a slender frame, and waist-length honey-colored hair that she keeps tied in a low ponytail.

Clothing-wise, she wears a very fashionable outfit that consists of a dark pink hat with a black band and white sunglasses on top, a black tank top, a red pleated skirt, black thigh-high stockings, and black sneakers that have a pink semi-circle shaped like a Poké Ball on them.

"Excuse me." The girl calls out, "But umm, do you know where those trainers are? One of them dropped this."

Eli and Gary look to see that it was Ash's bag. 'He must've been in a hurry that he forgot about it,' Eli thought to himself.

"We can go there together." Eli offers, "We got done with our battle so they all will be going to the Pokémon Center."

The girls smile, "Thank you so much!" Eli nodded as he, Gary the girl and Anthony went to the Pokémon Center.

"So, you already have a battle with Viola?" The girl asks as Eli shook his head, "No, I went up against her brother Anthony."

The girl turns to Anthony as she was let an 'Oh', "I didn't know they could do that?" 

Anthony nodded, "It's something rare since most Gym Leaders would stay at their gym. But if they have a close relative with them, then they can take the Gym Leader's spot if they can't make it."

"I see," The girl nodded as she sees the Pokémon Center, "There it is!"

They went inside as they look around for Ash and the others. "I don't see them..." The girl mumbled.

"Hello!" Nurse Joy came as she notices them looking around, "Can I help you guys with something."

"Ah yes," Eli turns his attention to Nurse Joy, "We need our Pokémon to be healed as we're also looking for our friends."

"Ah, you must be Eli then." Nurse Joy smiles, "One of your friends mention you saying that they're outside at the battlefield."

"Thank you so much!" The girl smiles as she turns to Eli, "I'm gonna give this to him."

Eli nodded as the two males turn to Nurse Joy, "Now if you two can please give me your Pokémon, I'll be able to care for them."

Both of them nodded as Anthony gives her his three Pokémon while Eli gives her his two Pokémon. "You guys are free to stay around until I call you guys."

"Thank you, Nurse Joy." Eli nodded as Nurse Joy went off to take care of their Pokémon.

The two of them went outside and see Bonnie, Clemont, and Gary. "Ah! It's Eli!" Bonnie waves as Clemont and Gary lookup.

"So...?" Bonnie slowly asks as Eli knows what she meant. "Here it is." Eli shows them his badge as Bonnie and Clemont smiles, "I knew you could do it!"

"Thank you," Eli smiled a little before turning to Ash, "Though..."

They look to see what he meant, "Yeah, Viola was though. But since Ash lost, that means you have to go out with Anthony." Bonnie pouted.

They look at Ash as they notice the girl slowly go to Ash. Bonnie, Clemont, Gary, and Eli went with them as Anthony stayed behind, "I'll come back tomorrow." 

Eli nodded as they went to them. "Before?" He heard Ash sounding confused.

"She was standing with us during your Gym battle." Clemont explains as Bonnie turns to the girl, "My name is Bonnie, and this is my big brother."

"I'm Clemont." Clemont introduces themselves as Bonnie holds Dedenne, "And say hello to Dedenne."

"My name is Gary and this Umbreon." Gary introduce as Umbreon spoke, "Umbreon!"

"You've already heard my name from Nurse Joy, but I'll say it anyway" Eli stated as he officially introduce himself, "I'm Eli"

The girl then ask "as if the Top coordinator Eli, the guy who is also called the Blue prince of Kanto?" 

Eli gets caught of guard and blushes a bit "wait did they been calling me that?" the girl nods a Eli then continues "well you can say that" he smiles at the girl "is really nice to meet you" 

The girl chuckles, "Nice to meet you." Ash takes the bag as he smiles, "What do you know? Sorry." Ash apologizes, "I was so busy battling, I didn't see you there."

"Oh, that's okay." The girl shook her head in understanding. 

"My name is Ash." Ash introduce himself.

"Yeah, I know." The girl nodded as this time she introduces herself, "The name's Serena. Do you remember? Huh!"

They suddenly hear a beeping noise as it was coming from inside the Pokémon Center. They went inside and see Nurse Joy smiling at them, "Thank you for waiting. Your Pikachu and Fletchling are now fully recovered and feeling fine."

Both of them spoke with excitement as they jump on Ash, and he giggled. "That's great. Thank you, Nurse Joy."

"As for you," Nurse Joy turns to Eli, "All of your Pokémon are fully recovered."

"Thank you, Nurse Joy." Eli smiles as both of them take grabs of their Pokeballs. "It's my pleasure." Nurse Joy smiles.

"Huh? I just realized something." Serena look over to Nurse Joy, "Nurse Joy, how did you get to the Pokémon Center from Route 4 without passing me?"

"Huh?" Nurse Joy was confused as Eli knows what she was talking about, "You must've met her cousin."

"Her cousin?" Serena asks as Nurse Joy smiles, "He's right. Here's a photo of me and my cousins during the Kalos region's nursing workshop."

They look at the photo and see that all of Nurse Joy look the same. "Incredible!" Serena commented, "Oh, right! I was hoping you'd look at my Pokémon too."

Serena brings out her Pokémon as it was new to everyone else. "Whoa. Never seen that Pokémon before," Ash stated as Eli and Ash brought out their Pokédex.

'Fennekin. The Fox Pokémon. Fennekin expels hot air that can reach nearly four hundred degrees. It likes to snack on twigs.'

"I guess it's a Fire-type Pokémon, right?" Ash stated as Bonnie squealed, "And it's so cute."

"I got it from Professor Sycamore," Serena explains. "Professor Sycamore, huh?" Ash turns to Serena.

"If I remember, Fennekin is a starter Pokémon here." Gary stated as he turns to Serena, "So that means, you're a new trainer."

"Right." Serena nodded, "I just started my journey."

"I'll be glad to look at Fennekin." Nurse Joy smiles, "Please wait right here while I perform a thorough exam."

"Ash?" Everyone turns to see Alexa, "It looks like Pikachu and Fletchling are fully recovered. Let me guess you're going to start training right away?"

"Of course I am." Ash answers with determination, "You want to help me out?"

They went outside to the battlefield as Fletchling and Pikachu have a balloon wrapped around them. "You see, Noivern can use Gust too. Noivern, let's go!"

Alexa sends out her Pokémon as it was a Noivern. "Noivern Noi!" Noivern ready themselves as they fly in the air.

"One of our problems with Viola was we couldn't get past Vivillon's Gust." Ash explains, "So let's try to keep our balance. Pikachu, Fletchling, heads up. Go ahead, Alexa."

"Here it comes." Alexa stated, "Noivern, use Gust!"

"Noivern!" A gust of wind is whipped up by Noivern's wings and launched at Pikachu and Fletchling.

Both Pokémon were worried as they try not to get blown by the attack. "Hang in there Pikachu." Ash tries to encourage, "Be strong Fletchling."

Both Pokémon were struggling as Fletchling was the first one to get the flow and then Pikachu. Clemont, Bonnie, and Serena gasps while Eli and Gary just watch.

"Pikachu, Fletchling!" Ash quickly runs to them as he jumps and catches them. "You, okay?"

Both Pokémon look up as they were worried about Ash. "I'm here for you two. So don't worry and concentrate on training."

Both Pokémon agree as they turn to Alexa. "Have Noivern used Gust again, please?"

"Alright but get ready." Alexa stated, "Noivern, use Gust!"

"Vern Vern!" Noivern once again flaps their wings as a powerful gust comes after Pikachu and Fletchling.

Both of them were struggling again but were holding on longer than before. 'We've got to be able to deal with Gust.' Ash thought to himself.

Both Pokémon were struggling as they try to fight it. "You're doing great." Clemont cheers on as Bonnie joins him, "I know you can do it."

Fletchling and Pikachu got flown again as Ash catches them but got hurt in the process. "Oh!" Eli cringed while covering his eyes at how Ash fell. "Oh, no."

Ash gets up as he was lost in his thought. 'Vivillon's Gust isn't the only thing we have to deal with. There's Surskit's Ice Beam and Sticky Web too. How are we gonna do it?'

"He's doing it again." Gary notices Ash's expression as Eli turns to Gary with concern. 

"When has he been doing this?" Eli asked

"During our time in Sinnoh," Gary answers as they look at Ash. Both are now concerned if this will get worse. 'Oh Ash...'

After a heated battle, Eli won his first Kalos league badge as he is now one step ahead in competing in the Kalos League. But in the wake of Pikachu and Fletchling's defeat at the hands of Viola's Surskit and Vivillon will Ash be able to come up with a strategy to defeat the Santalune City Gym Leader and win his first Kalos region Gym badge?

"Here." Serena hands Ash a blue cloth, "Use this."

"Ah," Ash looks at the cloth as he smiles, "Thanks."

Serena smiles as she was nervous, 'Here we go....' she ask Ash nervously "Ash, do you remember me?"
