Third Person's POV

Gary looks at his friend in shock at his words and ask "you.. want to battle me?"

Eli nods and replies "yeah, I mean is has been a while since we've battled, any problem?" Sylveon looks at Gary with a determine glare

Gary sighs defeatedly and says "nothing of the sort is just...when I battle it brings me flash backs, pretty bad one"

Eli's brows furrows in concern but says "I know what happened in the past really had affected you so much... But trust me when I'm telling you this...I'm over it"

Clemont and Bonnie looks at Eli confusedly as Ash sighs and says "that's a long story" Pikachu does a sad cry "Pika..."

Gary then says "alright I accept, but it's going to be a double battle if is okay with you?"

Eli nods and says "I'm down for a challenge!"

Gary pulls out two Pokeball and yells "alright then Umbreon, Scizor! let's go" Gary throws the pokeballs to the air and Pokemon with a sleek, black body with four slender legs and crimson eyes. It has long, pointed ears and a bushy tail, each with a yellow band around them and a bipedal, insectoid Pokémon with a red, metallic exoskeleton appear in front of Gary

"Umbre!"

"Sci!"

Eli pull out two pokeballs "in that case- Huh!?" Sylveon jump front glaring at Umbreon which the Dark type Pokemon was shock to see her Eli ask his Partner "Sylveon?" Sylveon ignores his partner as Umbreon seems concern about battling his best friend Sylveon who glaring darkly at Umbreon(Readers be like: wow a dark type getting scared by a fairy type, lol) Eli call his Pokemon "Sylveon!" Sylveon looks at his partner as he kneels down to him level and says "Listen Sylveon, I know you still hold a grudge onto Umbreon, but I need you to remind you that you need to control yourself and not let your anger get the best of you because if you do it'll cost us the battle, okay?"

Sylveon looks down and apologize "Syl..."

Eli pats Sylveon's head and says "is okay, ready to go?"

Sylveon look back at his trainer and nods "Veon!"

Eli then says "then go get them Sylveon!"

Sylveon turn and looks at Umbreon and Scizor determine as Eli looks at his Pokeball and says "is been a while since I've used you to a battle, my friend" He looks front and throws the Pokeball up to the sky "Dance with Grace my princess of the Sky, Sora!"

Gary hears the name "wait- Sora?"

Ash hears it as well and says "no way"

And then a white, avian Pokémon with an ovoid body. While its feet are small and situated closely together, its wings are broad and triangular. Red and blue triangular markings over its underside, and it has a short tail consisting of three feathers. appears flying down from the sky and gives Umbreon and Scizor a bow

Gary realizes and yell "I remember now, that's Sora the Togepi! and it evolved to a Togekiss"

Ash looks at Sora amaze "wow, that's awesome!"

Eli smirks and says "I appreciate the compliments but Sora means more than just looks, come on, I'll show you, Ready guys?"

"Veon!"

"Kiss!"

Clemont ask "don't mind if I'll be the referee?"

Eli smiles at Clemont and replies "Not at all Clem, go for it" Clemont blushes at the nickname which caught everyone by surprise Eli notice this and ask "what? I give all my friends a nickname" little did Eli know that the other two Kanto boys looks at Clemont with slight jealousy in their eyes which Bonnie did notice it and she giggles silently

Clemont still with some red on his cheeks exclaims "alright then the battle between Umbreon and Scizor vs Sylveon and Sora the Togekiss will now begins the battle is over when both Pokemon of either team are unable to battle. Alright then, Battle begin!"

Gary yells "Scizor use Bullet punch!" Scizor dashes towards the two fairy types sending them multiple punches

Eli yell "Sylveon get in front of Sora and use Protect!" Sylveon uses protect to protect himself and Sora from getting hit by Bullet punch Eli then yells "Sora use Air Slash!" Sora uses Air Slash at the Bug and Steel Pokemon

Gary yells "dodge it!" Scizor dodges Sora's Air Slash with ease and Gary yell again "Umbreon Shadow ball!" Umbreon uses Shadow ball to counter the air slash only to push him back a bit

Eli see impressed with this but he thinks 'something's not right is like Gary's holding himself back for some reason' Eli yell "Sora use Aura Sphere on Scizor" Sora uses Aura Sphere and releases at Scizor and which Scizor get hit by it without having a chance to react 

Scizor falls down groaning in pain as Gary ask "Scizor are you okay?" Scizor nods saying "Zor!"

Gary looks down and thinks 'the time when I used to be a bad trainer and mistreated my Pokemon, I get flashback of that day...I-I don't want to make the same mistake again'

Gary hears a yell "snap out of it Gary!" Gary looks front and sees Eli who had a determined face as he continues "I understand that you feeling overwhelmed about the past, do not let them hunt you down Gary Oak! You want to prove me that you've changed for the better, then show it by giving me even your hundred percent  even if you'll loose!"

Gary unnoticing tears falling down as he think 'he's right, I've been sulking about the past that forgot that what's past past, and Eli forgave me...his word I don't know how... but is like they take the weight I've been carrying off my shoulders, Umbreon, and the others are following me where ever I go and I will going to prove' Gary wipe his eyes with his sleeve and looks back at Eli with determination and yells "I'm not the same Gary from before!" Eli smirks but with a proud intent as Ash smiles excitedly as Gary yells at his Pokemon "Umbreon, Scizor! Time to get serious!"

Scizor and Umbreon look at their trainer in shock but their faces turn determined and nods and turn to Eli and his Pokemon much more determination which Eli and his Pokemon return the gesture with a proud smirk on Eli's face

Eli yell "There's the Gare-bear I remember! Sylveon, Sora, you ready!?" his Pokemon nods

Gary yells "Scizor use swords dance!" Scizor uses Sword dance as it grows stronger then Eli remember something... Zoey and Dawn's battle well he's gonna use Dawn Strategy he just hope it works 

Eli yells "Sylveon hop on Sora while she flies up!" Sylveon Jumps on Sora's back and flies up to the air 

Gary then commands "I won't let you, Scizor use Dual Wingbeat to separate Sylveon and Sora from each other!" Scizor dashes at Sora and Sylveon but more faster than before

Eli yell "dodge it!"

Gary yells back "after them"

Scizor flies following the two fairy type Sylveon notice Scizor that is behind them so she jumps off Sora as Scizor fly pass them which Eli gasp with worry and then a idea came to his mind, "Sylveon use Swift and Sora help him out!"

Sora Flies down to where Scizor who just land and Umbreon and then flies over it as a gust of wind covers their view as Ash finally recognize the movement Sylveon uses swift hitting both Scizor and Umbreon

Ash then says to himself "Eli used Sora to distract Scizor and Umbreon to keep their eyes off Sylveon so that he can attack blind sighted, Eli really grown and improved his skills"

Eli then finishes yelling "And now for the grand finally! Sora use Sky Attack! and Sylveon Giga Impact!" Sora Uses Sky Attack and flies at Scizor as Sylveon runs at Umbreon with Giga Impact

Gary then yell "If I fall Eli, you're coming with me! Scizor Use Bullet Punch and Umbreon Iron Tail!" That Phrase really got Eli of guard Both Gary's Pokemon uses their Steel type move to counter Eli's Pokemon attack but that causes to get covered by smoke that you barely can see either of the four Pokemon 

Both Eli and Gary call out their Pokemon to see if their alright the smokes clears up and reveal that all four Pokemon are on the ground fainted which made both Trainers gasp in shock

Clemont then says "All four Pokemon are unable to battle, which means I declare this battle a Draw!"

Eli and Gary went to their respective Pokemon and check on them if their okay Eli notice that Gary's checking on his Pokemon with concern in his eyes which causes the Blue hair Kanto boy to smile

Gary ask his Pokemon "are you guys okay?" Both Pokemon nods tiredly knowing that they will be okay "that's good, you guys gave your all, I'm proud of you both" He pulls out their Pokeballs "you two may return you deserve a good long rest" Umbreon and Scizor return to their Pokeball

Eli Looks at his Togekiss and tells her "Sora, I'm happy that I get to use you in battle you did a incredible job" He pull out her Pokeball and says "take a good Rest, Sora. You've earned it" and with that Sora hugs her trainer which Eli gladly hugs back and says "Return" Sora returns to her Pokeball and once Eli looks front he sees a hand and looks up and sees Gary smiling at him which Eli smiles back and take Gary's hand and gets up "you battle sort of like you used to battle but better"

Gary then says "I mean I could say the same about you you've seem that you a fast learner when it comes to battling, and you've become stronger than I remember"

Eli then comments "you too, I'm glad that you get to become a better trainer Gary"

Ash then Jumps on Eli "that was Amazing Eli, who would of thought that you could use one of Dawn's grand festival strategies, you did great, and you too Gary"

The Three Kanto boys laughs while Bonnie and Clemont were still confused about this whole back then stuff but they decide to shrug it off

Clemont then Yell "come on guys, Santalune City is a few Miles from here but let's grab a bite before we go there"

The Kanto boys and Bonnie nod in agreement "right" 

Eli sees Sylveon which he looks at Gary with a satisfying nod and uses his ribbon to hold Eli's forearm and they walk towards Clemont as they begin to take their break
