"You made a mistake."

Asgore walked besides Undyne, who was hugging her arms to her chest. Sans walked in the front, a bounce in his step, much more confident now that he knew his crazy girlfriend was outside.

"I just wanted to make Papyrus happy," Undyne explained, "Is that so bad? I thought since Sans was able to do that, then he'd remember Papyrus, and-"

"But he doesn't," Asgore said, "You made a good attempt, I know how hard Papyrus took Sans' disappearance, however, I don't think there was any proper way for us to meet."

"I found that out the hard way," Undyne said, "I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole coherent thing."

"It's okay, at least we know Sans is functioning," Asgore said, "I don't think bringing him here with no memories helped Papyrus, though. The poor skeleton is crying again."

Sans, ignorant to what they meant, continued to walk forward. He didn't know Papyrus, but he did like the stuff he wore. Maybe he could ask for that red scarf. It was nice.

"So you don't remember anything?" Undyne asked again to Sans, double checking his memories.

"Nooooo," Sans gurgled, "Notttt mucgh. I remember howwwwwhhh I turrrnnneddd, but even tthhheennnn it's blurrrehhhh."

"Do you remember anything about... a sibling?" Undyne asked slowly.

Sans frowned as he walked ahead. "Nopppeeee. But I goggg... guhhhh... got newwww sister. She nicceeeeee."

"I see." Undyne looked down at the floor.

"Though, I guesssssss... someoneeeeeggghhhh... wantedddd to seeeegh..." Sans said, "Don't knowwwww whoooo..."

"Someone you wanted to see?" Asgore asked.

Sans nodded. "Likeeeehh said, don't remmmebbberrr whoggghhhh... byyyy the wayyyggg... good luck!"

"What?" Undyne asked.

Sans pushed open the front doors of the school, stepping out into the sunlight with a casual grin. The moment he heard Jane's voice, he knew he was safe. While he didn't fully know the monsters who kidnapped him, he had to admit he felt a little bad for them. Not only for the fact that they used to know Sans, and that he didn't remember them, However, what he mainly felt bad for was the wrath of Jane they'd have to face. He's seen it. They weren't going to have fun.

Jane was on cue with that thought, a knife suddenly slashing through the air and catching Undyne's top, pinning her back against the wall. Jane strided up to them, her hand grazing over Sans' skull in a quick pat before she slammed one hand next to Undyne's head, the monster looking terrified at the other woman.

"How jealous and desperate must you be to kidnap a man from a date?" Jane growled, pulling the knife from her shirt.

"No, wait, I- That's not what happened, I have a girlfriend-" Undyne said.

"I used to have one, bisexual and pansexual woman exist, along with polyamorous people. I don't care if you're attracted to him or not, what matters is that you had the stupidity to kidnap my boyfriend on my date from me. Even if you both were the closest friends before, I don't give a sh*t. He's mine, no one takes him from me."

"Miss, please, there's been a misunderstanding," Asgore said, trying to get some peace between them.

"Hiiiii Jannneeeee. I love you!"

Jane immediately spun on her heels at hearing Sans talk, grinning wildly at him. "Sans, hi! How are you? Did they hurt you?" Jane asked, quickly walking over to pick him up.

Sans attached himself like a koala on her chest, wrapping his arms and legs firmly around her body. He liked cuddles. "Nooo. I'mmgggggggjhkds..."

"Oh, they made you talk a lot, didn't they?" Jane asked.

Sans nodded, leaning against her body. He knew she was a little knife happy, but he liked her for who she was. Jane was pretty and nice.

"Okay, we have Sans!" Jane announced to the crowd of zombies behind the fence. "Time to kill all of them!"

"Wait, I thought-" Asgore said.

"Your group of survivors came into my territory, which already warrants death, then took away both Charlie and Sans." Jane flicked a knife in the hand that wasn't petting Sans' head.

"(Basically, they signed death warrants,)" Ben muttered from his spot behind the fence.

"Hiiiii guyyyssss!" Sans said, waving to him.

A large collection of the zombies behind the fence gurgled out greetings to Sans, no doubt everyone excited to witness a saving of Romeo from the kidnappers.

"(Whose idea was it to get this army?)" Sans asked.

"(It was mine,)" Jeff said, "(I figured since a lot of people like forbidden romance, so I went around to ask some of the zombies for some help. Then it blew up, and a lot of zombies from this town even showed up to help. They're mad at the monsters as well, so it's a two for one.)"

"Seriously, I didn't mean to kidnap him from a date," Undyne said, "I didn't know if he was going to bite or not, we just wanted to talk."

"Wow, great story," Jane said, "But I still don't care. I only care about zombies. Get infected, then maybe we can talk."

However, she was caught off guard when Sans pulled at her jacket, grabbing her attention. He typed onto his phone, turning it around for her to see.

'It was just a misunderstanding, I don't think they knew it was a date. They knew me before, I think they just wanted to talk to me to make sure I'm okay. They didn't hurt me, and the one girl backed away after I was uncomfortable. They're nice.'

"It doesn't matter if they're nice, they still kidnapped you," Jane said.

'But cuddles and kisses.'

Jane sighed, tilting her head. "Okay, fine, I'll spare them."

"I don't know what's going on anymore," Undyne sighed,

"It's okay everyone!" Jane called out, turning towards the zombie horde. "You all can return to your homes, Sans is safe! Ben, Jeff, Sally, you three with me."

"What are we doing?" Asgore asked.

"You said you wanted to talk," Jane said, looking at him from the side. "So we're going to talk."

Sans silently grumbled next to Jane as he slept against her, skull tilted back. Jane didn't mind this at all, one arm firmly wrapped around his shoulders with the other holding her knife. The other monsters looked a little caught off guard by the sudden meeting, not to mention the sudden news, but they were adjusting to the best of their ability.

"So you all were his friends before he turned?" Jane confirmed, "And it's your fault he's a zombie."

"I'd say so," Asgore said, "Sans was one of the first monsters who left the Underground. We had been exploring a few of the houses when we discovered what was going on. A few days later, Sans was one of the first monsters to get bitten. We had no choice but to leave him in the house."

'Sans mentioned he woke up in a house alone,' Ben said, using siri to read off what he typed. 'As zombies, we don't have many memories of our past lives, so sorry about that.'

"What capabilities d-do you guys have and d-don't have?" Alphys asked.

"They don't have their memories, but they're slowly starting to get them back," Jane explained, "They have to learn how to talk again, which is probably why Sans was exhausted, he spoke a lot. They can write and understand fine. The longer they act normal, the more they recover, in a sense. They won't heal, entirely, but they're more faster and normal."

"And when will you let Undyne down?" Asgore asked.

Everyone looked towards the wall where Undyne was hanging, a couple of knives impaled through her clothes, one sickly close to her face. Undyne looked uncomfortable, her entire body being held by such few blades.

"When I say so," Jane said, "Would you like to join her?"

"Not at all," Asgore said.

"I'm sorry, it's just... this is a lot to take in," Toriel said, holding out her paws. "So you run a town full of zombies, and you've been dating Sans for awhile now. Zombies are all coherent, it depends on how much people they eat that affects their mental capacity, but they don't remember anything. It's a lot."

"Yes, well, I don't care about your mental health," Jane said, "All I care about is Sans' relation to you and how he knew you before."

"(Yandereeee,)" Ben mumbled under his breath.

"We were all friends," Toriel said, "But Papyrus, he... let's say it'd be best if Papyrus got the chance to bond with Sans."

"Is he his brother?" Jane asked.

The room fell silent. Jane let out a snort, her hand gently running around the edges of Sans' broken skull.

"Come on, I'm not stupid," Jane said, "I saw the skeleton through the window, not to mention Sans is always obsessed with having a little sibling. Though, societies standards of 'family is best' is childish at best. Sans doesn't remember any of you, and it'd be stupid to try and prode at something that doesn't exist. Their memories have been slowly coming back, but if you guys try to force it onto him it'll just scare Sans and my other zombies."

"That's understandable," Asgore said, "I believe a good plan is to-"

'Nope, no, shut up,' Ben typed quickly, turning up the phone's volume to speak louder. 'Jane's in charge.'

"But I'm the King of-" Asgore said.

"Not the King of me," Jane said, "I'm in charge. There's a reason to why I managed to get an entire town of zombies to follow me. You may be in charge of this base, but when I'm here, you listen to me."

'She's in charge,' All of the zombies confirmed, nodding firmly.

"I'm not claiming I'm in charge of your survivors, that's your problem," Jane said, "I'm in charge of my zombies. Sally, Ben, and Sans."

"(Hey!)" Jeff complained.

"And the idiot," Jane said.

She then leaned forward, making sure the sleeping skeleton was stable before she continued.

"It's going to be bothersome to try and pressure Sans into remembering, and we won't even be fully sure if he'll ever regain all of his memories. Jeff barely has any of his, even though he's been constantly around me for awhile. If your friend, Alphys, wants to start getting some research from us, she can get some samples from Ben or Jeff, I'm sure either of them would be willing. Sally's too young, and Sans is off limits for touching. I understand you guys probably just want to recover the Sans you lost, but face the truth, that might not happen. That doesn't mean you can't form new bonds, good or bad. The first sign of any bad treatment, and it'll be Undyne's head."

"Why me?" Undyne asked from the wall.

"Because I don't trust you," Jane said bluntly.
