Chapter 9 Drake
I was past staving. I haven't eaten a single thing since coming here, and that was yesterday. It was Sunday night and I was trying to get some sleep. The day's events were quite strange.
To begin, my mother barged in bright and early asking if I did my homework. I told her that I had no idea what she was talking about. Then she took some paper out of a bag and told me to do it. I didn't understand a single thing. It had all these facts and pictures and questions. It was all about atoms. I don't even know what an atom is! I decided to just leave it alone and when my so called mother asked if I did, I'll say I did.
Right before I fell asleep, I heard a knocking on the door. It wouldn't stop. It couldn't have been my mother because she just barges in. I climbed out of the bed and went to the door. When I opened it I found a little girl with a plate of food. She looked about 9 or 10. But I had no idea who she was.
"I brought you some dinner," she said. "Sorry it's so late, I had to wait until Mom and Dad went to bed." This girl must have been my sister.
"Ok," I told her. She handed me the plate.
"Enjoy it. Good night big brother." And she left to the room down the hall.
Hmmmmm... what do I do first? I could eat the food or explore the area. My stomachs made the decision for me. I brought the food to the desk and looked at it. It looked and smelled like nothing I have seen before. It looked like a sandwich and some yellow stick things. I ate it without questioning. It didn't even taste half bad.
When I finished I left the room to venture around. I got halfway down the hallway before I heard a rustling of blankets. I froze in my exact position.
"You go back to bed right now!" I heard my mother yell. Dang, how can she hear so well? Is she a bat or something?
I decided to stay still, maybe she wouldn't notice. After about five minutes I continued. And I heard no screaming mothers. The house was small. Once you walked out the hallway there was large room with a tv, couch, chairs, and a few tables. To the left was a kitchen. I didn't even think about going in there. Everything was too weird for my comfort zone.

"DRAKE GET OUT OF BED!" my mother yelled as she swung the door open. I jerked up in the bed and stared at her. "Come on, get ready for school, I don't have all morning!"
I just kept staring at her. "I thought I wasn't allowed to leave my room unless I had to pee or poop," I told her. This woman was so confusing.
"DON'T YOU BE SMART WITH ME! I CAN GROUND YOU FOR EVEN LONGER! NOW GET DRESSED!"
Once she left me alone, I got out of the bed and headed to the closet. I changed clothes and combed my hair. I still had no idea what school was. Was it a game? Or a meal? I had no idea. Once I was dressed, I left the room and saw my mother in the hallway.
"Are you ready?" She asked me in a somewhat calm voice.
"Yes," I told her, even though I wasn't.
"Don't forget your backpack. I left it next to your desk."
I went back to the room and grabbed the bag that the homework came from. I put it on my back, I at least knew what this was. I came out of the room and stood in front of her.
"Don't forget your shoes," she said. I went back and put on a pair of shoes.
"Now?" I asked her.
"Yes. Angelina come on, it's time to go!"
I followed them as they started walking. We went out of the house and into a vehicle. Then we traveled for about 10 minutes. We stopped in front of a huge building. Angelina and I got out of the car, and into the building. It was chaos, people were everywhere.
"Hey Drake," some random guy said as he walked up next to me. "Let's get out of the crowd and get to Mr. Marlin's room."
"Ok," I said as I followed him. We stopped at a room and I sat down at one of the many small desks so I could collect my thoughts.
