Chapter 21 Drake

It was time to go back home. We were all scared. We enjoyed being with Armen, we didn't enjoy the homes we lived in. Hopefully we could get everything sorted out soon.

We followed April out of the school, everybody was happy to go but us. We wanted to stay there forever. I turned around and looked at Armen. He winked at me. I didn't show any sign of notice. I just continued on and looked for Angelina.

"She's going to be down there," April said, pointing to a long line of the vehicles. They were similar to what I climbed into that morning.

I ventured away and went where April told me.

"DRAKE!!!" I heard somebody yell. I turned around and saw Angelina, she was waving her hand like mad. Did she do this all the time? She ran over to where I was and bombarded me with a hug. She squeezed all of the air out of me.

"Did something happen?" I asked her.

"No," she said. "Why do you ask?"

"Because I was hugging somebody all day because we were having problems."

"YOU ACTUALLY HUGGED SOMEBODY! Since when? What happened?"

I didn't know how to explain that I had no idea who she was and that I was from a different dimension. "I'll tell you later."

"Tell me now!"

"It's private. Wait until Mom and Dad go to bed."

"But that's so late! I'll never be able to do that!"

"You did the other night."

"Just tell me when we get home!"

"Mom and Dad can't know. Just wait."

"Ok, fine."

She started walking and I followed. I had no idea where we were going. Eventually, we reached the vehicle we had climbed into that morning. Angelina called it "the car". That must be what it was. I was clueless.

We sat in the car for a while and Angelina wouldn't let go of me. She wanted to comfort me for having to hug somebody. The me from this dimension must not have been a hugger.

Once we were "home" again, I was instantly yelled at.

"What part of grounded do you not understand?!" my supposed mother yelled.

"What do you mean?" I said.

"You're supposed to stay in your room unless you have to pee or poop!"

"I was on my way."

"Stop it with your attitude! Do you want to be stuck in your room for Angelina's birthday party this weekend?"

I didn't say anything. I went straight to my room. It was a long time until the weekend came. And apparently just surviving was enough attitude for that sorry excuse for a parent.

When I reached my room I put the backpack back where it I got it that morning. I dug inside and dug out the instrument April told me to look at. She wanted us to try playing them once we got home. I opened the door a crack and poked my head out.

"Mom?" I said.

"What?!" she yelled as she stormed to me.

"Can I practice my instrument?"

"I guess, but you ain't any good at it."

I closed the door. That woman was rude on so many levels. I sat in a chair and put the thing together. April said it was called a clarinet. She told me how to play it but didn't let me try. I put the tip of it on my mouth and blew into it. It sounded horrible. She played a video of what it was supposed to sound like, I was nowhere close. Maybe the reed wasn't wet enough. I licked the thing and made sure I put it on properly, it was a nightmare.

I blew into it again. It sounded much better. Then I took the music April told us to look at. She said that was what we've been working on in class. I propped it up on my bed by using the clarinet's case. I put the clarinet back in my mouth and I had no idea what happened. I started playing the thing, and it was somewhat decent! I didn't even know what I was doing.

Angelina came into my room. She stared at me.

"What?" I asked.

"What happened to you?" she asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean your different. You never hug people, or play your clarinet at home. What's going on?"

"Close the door." She closed it and I put the clarinet on my bed.

"Are you going to believe me when I tell you this?" I asked.

"Yes."

"I have no idea where I am, who you are, or what I was like before Saturday."

"Tell me the truth Drake."

"That is the truth!"

"Are you serious?"

"Yes."

"Tell me all the details."

I told her everything. From the portal, to Grayson and Mia, and what happened today. She didn't interrupt me once. She looked a little upset. I wish I had waited to tell her that night. But I didn't. I blabbed on and on.

"Wait, so you all were 13 year olds running around the world on your own?" she asked after I finished.

"No, we were adults. Our minds have been put in these bodies. We don't have memories from this world."

"This sounds just like those Minecraft movies you watch by that Armen guy. Wait, is there a connection?"

"Yes, he made those videos to honor us."

"So I'm sitting with some adult who doesn't know who I am? How can we get you those memories?"

"Every time somebody said His name, I got a short memory back."

"You mean Herobrine?"

I had another one of the splitting headaches. I fell to the floor since Armen wasn't there to catch me. I got another memory. I was at a hospital. My mother was in a bed. She had a tiny baby in her arms."This is your new little sister," she said.

"Drake, are you okay?" Angelina asked as she shook me.

"I'm fine," I said. "I just got the memory of you being born. Just please don't say his name again. It really hurts."

"I won't," she said. "I promise."

For the rest of the day I sat around, trying to think about things. I was starving and didn't get any dinner again. But Angelina came and brought me food again that night. I didn't care if these excuse for parents loved her or not. When Armen was taking me, she was coming with me. She didn't deserve these people even if they were relatively nice to her.
