Ryker's P.O.V.
I woke with Shana laying in her nest snoring. Her golden scales echoed through our cave and I smiled at the sparkles on the cave walls and floor.
I creeped out of my bed, trying to not disturb her. I decided I wanted some fresh air so I headed out to the landing. When I reached it, and when I was positive she was out of ear shot, I stretched. My knees and back cracked, and with satisfaction, I sighed heavily.
Today was a good day. I had finally gained enough courage to ask Celest to be my girlfriend, with Shana's help of course. The day promised to be the perfect day to do it too. The sun shone as it had done yesterday and a soft breeze whistled through my hair. The breeze smelled sweet and also promised good flying weather for capture the flag.
I had asked Celest to meet me here, early this morning.
"Why hello," Kayna's voice said from around the corner, unfortunately her cave was next to mine.
I snapped my gaze around to look at my ex-girlfriend. She had an evil grin spread up to her eyes and her red hair covered most of her face. She was pretty for a human, but she was also was pretty mean for a human, with no respect for anyone except herself.
"What do you want?" I asked, annoyed.
"You," she said.
She walked over to where I stood on the landing and held out her hand to shake.
"As a friend," she continued before I reached to shake her hand.
I smiled politely. Though I practically wanted to vomit over the ledge.
'Maybe shes trying to be more mature?' I asked myself.
'Don't count on it,' Shana added.
I had to hurry and get her out of here before Celest thought something was happening between us still. I heard footsteps, small footsteps, that I knew had to belong to Celest.
'Dang it!'
Celest turned the corner and before she even saw Kayna, the red head pushed her lips against mine and started to kiss me.
I tried to stop myself from enjoying the first few seconds of it, but I failed. When I realized how stupid I was being, I grunted and pushed Kayna off of me. She was a sick wench, she just completely disgusted me.
At that moment it didn't matter to me if Kayna kissed good, what mattered was what Celest had just seen the whole ordeal.
And I was right. Celest had seen. She had tears streaming down her red face.
Could she have possibly liked me?
Kayna laughed.
"Gullible boy," she said before skipping down the pathway, back to her cave.
I ran after Celest my heart pounding.

Celest's P.O.V.
I ran away as fast as my feet would carry me, not caring where I ended up. Hot tears streaming down my face were making it hard for me to see. Anger and sadness built up inside me at the same time and I really didn't know how to describe it.
Fírek tried to access my mind, brushing softly against my barriers but I blocked him. Wanting no comfort, I continued to run down the landing.
"Celest wait!" I heard Ryker scream after me, some way away down the ledge.
Everything was telling me not to turn around, and my legs and feet had not yet grown weary.
My heart was the only thing that worked against my judgement and forced my feet to stop. I spun around, my feet planted firmly in place.
"Is this why you wanted me to come?" I shouted as Ryker came into my field of vision and jogged towards me.
He didn't say anything when he finally caught up. Instead, he pulled me close to him and kissed me. Our lips molded together as if they were made for each other.
This wasn't a good time to kiss me. I pushed him off of me, slapped him, and stared blankly at him with my fists balled.
"She tricked me. She told me she wanted to be friends and I fell for it. When she saw you turn the corner she kissed me," he said, his face red and chest heaving.
Why was Kayna like this? She took my childhood best friend Laina away from me and she was now in her posse. She had taken my first boyfriend and now possessed Ryker. What did I ever do to her?
I realized that if this was true, I did forgive him. I stood on my toes and lightly kissed him on his lips. He smiled.
"Will you be my girlfriend Celest?" he whispered barely loud enough for me to hear.
He grasped my waist and I pushed my forehead on his chest with my hands at my cheeks.
"Yes," I whispered as I choked on the simple word.
I had been waiting a very very long time for this. He let go of my waist and I pushed off of his chest and stood in front of him. He took my nimble hand in his. He pushed a strand of my golden blonde locks away from my eyes.
"Let me do this correctly," he said and kissed me.
I blushed as I molded my lips with his.
"Why do like me?"I asked as we pulled away.
He stayed silent for a few moments, his gaze fixed on our entwined fingers before replying, "Why wouldnt I like you?"
"Good answer," I joked as I pulled his hand to walk with me.
We went back to his room where we sat on his bed and talked, waiting for breakfast.

When breakfast time came, I finally let Fírek through my barriers.
'Hello, Miss I'll Block My Dragon From My Conscience,' he said in a mean fashion.
'I'm sorry,' I said. 'We have to go to breakfast now. Please come and get me.'
He didn't answer, but I knew he would come.
"I have to get dressed, I'll meet you there," Ryker said with a pearly smile.
I nodded to him as I heard my dragon's claws hit the pathway. I rushed out to him, and quickly mounted him without his saddle, his scales painfully poking my legs.
'I forgive you,' was the only thing he said.
I smiled, and he glided down to the courtyard.
