A day in Juniper's life

(this was in english class for like writing practice)(its very rough lmao might update this in the future)

A scaled figure pushes herself up and out of the river, water streaming down their dull, murky, geenish-greyish hide. The large top portion of a crocodile sits upon their head, flowing dusty purple hair reaching just past their neck. Fangs portrude out past their lips, yellowed bit lethal still.

The figure flexes their arms, "bracelets" along their forearms. The buttons on each were black, and the "fins" that were attached had gotten rather dull.

They pick off some weeds that had gotten caught on the skull with their webber fingers. They step out onto the riverbank, a forest of weeping willows swaying in the wind. Faint birdsong drifted by, bringing a feeling of disgust to the figure.

"Juniper, calm down... they're only wild birds." She murmurs to herself, hugging her waist. The chatter of the feathered avians had reminded her of Demorline, one of the others that lived on their Owner's land. Just the thought of the black swan humanoid made Juniper gag.

Demoine was their Owner's favorite. She sang, and danced, and was consitered the best. Their Owner would often record Demorline, and post it online for the enjoyment of others. With her coal-grey feathers, and bright yellow jewler neclace and collar, she was fretted over by their Owner often. Demorline always got the best things.

Jumiper crawls through the trees, snout nuzzling each trunk for the lever that would open up a section of ground that led to a small space with a roof of tree roots. If she did spmething clever, she would be rewarded with a slab of buffalo meat. Hunger gnaws at her stomach, the thought of good food tantalizing.

Juniper finds the switxh, and crawls inside the treat room. She begins to hum into the speaker. She scoffs when she recieves nothing.

Juniper tries something else. "I've been trying for so long, to sing you the right song, to show you something different every day.. So you hear what I have to say," She sings softly , digging her fingers into the dusty earth below.

"like puzzle pieces... Now we're here at a standstill, I wonder if you feel, the kind of pain that rips your insides out.." Juniper grins, her interlocking teeth glistening in the light that shone through the roots above. "that's something I know all about, shocking ain't it?"

Juniper chuckles to herself as metal trap door opens. She grabs her treat, and backs out of the small, cramped space. Her tail drags in the dirt as she slowly makes her way through the willows, snapping up the meat hungrily. She may not be as pretty as Demorline, but she had wit, and strength.

Juniper slips back into the river, the water softly enveloping her.
