Chapter Nine ~ Snakes
A/N:
If you can, please check out my story "Zodiac Life". It's about all the astrology signs become representations of teens in high school! Cliche, I know, but it's fun to write.

Sky woke up, however sat up quickly and bumped her head with someone who was leaning over her.
"Ugh..." She groaned, holding her head that hurt even more.
"Skylar?! Are you okay?!" She heard a voice call, only to look up and see it was a worried-looking Aldan.
"Fine." She said a little weakly, then looked over at the figure she practically headbutted.
It was Dumbledore. "Sorry."
He chuckled. "That's quite alright. Can you explain what happened?"
She sighed internally. "All I remember is that I was getting ready for my shower, then I felt like someone was choking me... Is that what happened?"
Aldan shook his head. "No one was choking you. You came out of the bathroom and passed out on the floor, and were having quite a bit of trouble breathing."
Sky tilted her head. "Hmm... Sounds familiar. That's what happened to me when I was at... St Mungo's, was it? you were there, weren't you Dumbledore?" She asked even though she knew the answer.
He nodded slowly. "It's from the killing curse. Quite difficult to interpret, but that's all I know. I don't understand why it happened, or how. No other person has experienced this- but of course, you lived. Harry Potter hasn't either, from what I've heard from Ms Figg." Dumbledore explained.
Aldan nodded, as he understood. But Sky was a little confused. He knew that Harry Potter was the only other that survived the killing curse, but didn't know his story.
Once she had asked, Dumbledore volunteered to explain. "Quite similar to... What happened to you, actually. His parents who were well hidden from Voldemort had been betrayed by a man... However, he is in Azkaban now. Voldemort killed his parents, however Harry lived with just a scar on his forehead."
"R-really...? Because... Because I have one too." She pushed her shirt down a little to show Aldan and Dumbledore her own scar. It didn't exactly have a shape, it was certainly misformed... But was easy to tell that it was something like a thick, curved line of sorts.
Aldan studied it carefully. "It looks like a snake, sweetie... Maybe... That's what was- choking you?" He looked over at Dumbledore.
He nodded. "It's a possibility. Yet perhaps an invisible or imaginary one. It could just be how it feels."
"It certainly felt like a snake." Sky said bitterly, not liking how she kept being choked like this.
"Don't worry, sweetie." Aldan put a hand on her shoulder. "I'll always have my wand ready, so if it ever happens again I can try stop it with a protecting spell."
She smiled. "Thanks, Aldan... But... Can I call you grandpa?"
He laughed. "Of course. I'm not used to that yet."
Dumbledore then stood up. "I must be off. Send me an owl if this happens again, Aldan, and Sky?" He looked down at her, concern filling his face.
She looked up at him. "Yeah?"
"It is important to fight and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated." He smiled then, most of his worry gone.
She nodded, and took those words to heart. "Thank you."
